🇭🇰 Hong Kong actually has a beautiful glass sea|Green Egg Island🏖️
Green Egg Island is a small island near Sai Kung, Hong Kong. It is named after its poached egg with a green yolk.
I originally thought it would be really exhausting to do outdoor sports in this weather, but it turned out to be okay with sun-protective clothing and the wind on the sea. It’s super beautiful and I recommend you to visit! ✨Just looking at the water surface illuminated by the sunlight, it looks like a sea of glass, absolutely amazing! This time we paddled there in a two-person canoe, but in fact there should be a speedboat that can go there.
🚖Transportation: Take a taxi from Hang Hau MTR Station B2 to Sheung Sze Wan, which takes about 15 minutes and costs about HK$40-50 to reach the boat rental company.
🚤Boat rental:
It is recommended to go with a partner if you are rowing a double boat for the first time!
A double boat costs HK$250 on weekdays and HK$300 on holidays. It is best to make an appointment with Chuanjia in advance! (Life jackets, showers and changing rooms are available)
It is recommended to arrive before 10-11 am, so that you have more time. You can snorkel and visit the island after you arrive. It is recommended to leave at 15:30 at the latest for the return trip and return as early as possible at dawn.
⚠️Note:
1️⃣ Bring sun protection clothing, sun hat, sunscreen, amphibious shoes (very scratchy), swimming goggles, waterproof bag, sunglasses, water, garbage bag, lunch (bring your own lunch)
2️⃣ Pay attention to the weather, because thunderstorms/too windy will prevent you from going out to sea, so it’s best to choose a sunny day! 🔅

A must-visit Green Egg Island in summer 🩵💙|Parent-child sea activities🤿
Green Egg Island is famous for its clear water 🏝️. During the summer holidays, many people go there to play in the water 🌊, snorkel 🤿, canoe 🚣🏽♀️, and trek. The canoe is paddled a short distance away, suitable for beginners.
We set off from Acacia Bay, this time we took 2 children together to play, so that they can explore the underwater ecology 🐟🪸🤿. We rented two double canoes and set off for the island, rowing on the shore on the right hand side 🚣🏽♀️, the 1 km turn is the Lobster Bay petroglyphs 🪨. Then continue towards Green Egg Island, then row another 2 kilometers or so to reach it, looking from a distance over a small green raised island, is "Green Egg" 💚, is a popular photo spot📸.
There is a sandy beach on the other side of Green Egg Island, with more space to rest and moor boats. After a short break, you can walk up the "Green Egg", there is a sky pool to take pictures, looking down at the sea from higher, you can see the clear water 💙🩵. The water is not too deep in the middle of the two shores, so it is good for snorkeling to see fish, coral reefs🪸, sea cucumbers and other underwater creatures. Almost walked across the street when the tide went out.
Since there are no shops and toilets on the island, you need to bring enough water and food to replenish your food.
How to explore:
Snorkeling 🤿 | Canoeing 🚣🏽♀️ | Hiking 🚶🏾♀️ | Swimming 🏊🏽♀️
📍Green Egg Island🏝️
Easy route: Acacia Bay > Lobster Bay > Green Egg Island > Return
Distance: Row to Green Egg Island round trip distance 5-6 km ~
Boat Rental: There are several boat rental shops along Acacia Bay in Sai Kung that rent single/double canoes and stand-up paddles. Advance reservations are recommended (shower facilities | locker rooms | storage space)

Experience canoeing 🛶 Clear snorkeling, Green Egg Island
The legendary egg-shaped island, we set out from Sai Kung and kayaked to Green Egg Island. The round trip took about 2 hours (double kayak). The wind and waves were quite strong yesterday, but the sea was basically calm and easy to paddle. There are many options for renting canoes, so choose carefully (laughs). The water around Green Egg Island is very clear. Many tourists are snorkeling. Many tourists are also playing sup and some water activities. It is worth experiencing.

Green Egg Kayak
Kayak has become very popular in Hong Kong in recent years. A kayak is a narrow-bodied water vehicle similar to a canoe, available in both single-person and multi-person varieties. Many people go kayaking in Sai Kung, popular spots include Green Egg Island, Shelter Island, and Wing Tsui. This time we went to the Green Egg Kayak near Tseung Kwan O. The surrounding geology was beautiful and the route was easy to complete. #Good Places for Families #Good Places for Hong Kong

Canoe tour of Green Egg Island Glass Water Scenic Tour
Since I can’t travel abroad due to the epidemic, I had to look for fun places in Hong Kong. This is my second time to play canoeing. I didn’t expect that I have the courage to challenge a single-person canoe❣️ (I don’t know how to swim)
Going to Green Egg Island in a canoe 🚣 is a great experience. It not only exercises my arms, shoulders, back and chest muscles (I’ve been exercising more recently so this has become my hobby), but I can also spend half a day with my friends 👭 and check in, which allows me to relax.
The most important thing is that the water in Green Egg Island is very clear, which is perfect for snorkeling. But…I’m busy bringing my snorkeling gear, so…I’ll just keep rowing hard!
A friend of mine rented a SUP, which is something I’ve always wanted to try, so I borrowed it and paddled a few times!
Although the principle of SUP is similar to canoeing, it is not easy either. First, you need to stand on the thin board in a balanced way, and then change hands frequently to paddle. I think this is very strenuous. It might be better to kneel down. However, if you have to paddle for several hours, beginners may also feel very tired.
Some friends may be afraid of getting tanned when participating in water activities. In fact, as long as they take adequate sun protection measures, they will not get too dark.
I put on sunscreen, a hat 🧢, and long-sleeved sun-protective clothing, and I almost didn't get tanned. Only my feet got tanned (there was no coverage between my pants and shoes)
So I highly recommend this activity to everyone, and I also recommend everyone to explore Green Egg Island!

Green Egg Island Snorkeling
The first time to go to Green Egg Island by water, first go to Acacia Bay to rent a canoe (usually no reservation is required), and you can arrive slowly along the coast in about 1 hour. The process requires a certain amount of physical strength. There will be many tourists going together on the way, so don’t be afraid of getting lost, but pay attention to the weather. After arriving, you can snorkel on your own 🤿, it is a good snorkeling spot in Hong Kong.

Canoeing Adventure on the Emerald Glassy Sea: Exploring the Hidden Gem of Green Egg Island
When dawn illuminates Clear Water Bay, Green Egg Island emerges like a jade poached egg nestled in the shimmering waves, waiting for travelers to unlock its glassy water secrets. Starting from Xiangsi Bay, paddlers embark on a 45-minute canoe journey across a liquid crystal sea. With 12-meter visibility, the underwater world reveals swaying antler corals, schools of tiger-striped fish glinting like scattered gold, and the occasional graceful glide of a stingray beneath the canoe, creating a magical dance with ocean spirits.
Encircled by hexagonal rock columns, this uninhabited island offers a dreamlike stage even for beginners. The double canoe glides steadily through the waves, fingertips brushing the cool sea water. Around the corner, the ancient geological tales of Lobster Bay's stone carvings unfold, while the verdant mountain reflections of Three Cups Island mirror on the water, as if paddling into a traditional Chinese landscape painting. Upon landing, travelers can shed their paddles and dive into tide-sculpted natural pools. Beneath the snorkeling mask, a mesmerizing world awaits: purple sea urchins tucked into rock crevices, clownfish darting through coral labyrinths, and, with a bit of luck, a swim alongside translucent jellyfish shimmering like stardust.
As the midday sun gilds the sea with silver fragments, the return journey invites a leisurely drift, letting the sea breeze lift the brim of your sun hat. This emerald adventure along Hong Kong's eastern coast not only conquers the waves but also captures the purest whispers of island life in every paddle stroke.

First, let me tell you how to get to Green Egg Island. If you are departing from Sai Kung, you can take bus 92 or minibus 1A to Pei Tam Chung and walk to Sheung Ko Pier. At Shang Ko Pier, you can rent a canoe or join a canoe tour.
I recommend taking a canoe tour as having a professional guide with you guarantees safety, as well as guides who give you an overview of the scenery and history along the way. It takes about 1 hour to get from Sheung Ko Pier to Green Egg Island.
At Green Egg Island, you can enjoy stunning ocean views and spectacular rocks. There is a natural sea-eroded cave on the island called “Angel’s Eye” which is a well-known attraction. At the same time, the island has many quirky rocks in all shapes and forms, which is very interesting.
If you still have time, I recommend walking on the island’s sandy beaches. The beaches there are very beautiful, the water is crystal clear and you can see all kinds of fish and corals. You can bring some food for a picnic or swim or snorkel by the sea.
In terms of nearby attractions, if you return to Shang Ko Pier from Green Egg Island, you can stop by the nearby Ta Lang Bay. Big Wave Bay is a beautiful sandy beach with clear waters and wide sandy beaches, making it a great place for swimming and surfing.
Overall, canoeing to Green Egg Island was a very interesting experience. If you are traveling to Sai Kung, you might as well spend a little time here, I am sure you will have an unforgettable experience.

Green Egg Island. Hidden glass water island
Green Egg Island, formerly known as Rotten Row. Green Egg Island has been called Green Egg Island in recent years because its shape resembles a fried egg when viewed from high altitude, with the "yolk" in the center being green (because the center is covered with green plants). There is a small beach on Green Egg Island with clear water, fine sand and shallow water, which is suitable for playing in the water and snorkeling. On low tide days, you can walk directly to Green Egg Island via the sandbank. On normal days, you need to wade/swim, which is more suitable for people who are familiar with swimming. Please pay attention to the tide time before departure.

Hong Kong's natural scenery must be seen 🥊 Green Egg Island
#WinHongKongTicket
I was lucky enough to go to Hong Kong before. The scenery there is really beautiful.
And the location is not crowded, you can enjoy the natural scenery of Hong Kong
On Green Egg Island, you can see the clear bay and unique shape 😝
Those who like taking photos can check in, and those who like swimming can go snorkeling!
And I didn’t see much garbage on the island, so I felt great!
I feel that people in Hong Kong are very friendly and have a strong sense of environmental protection♻️
Even though there was rubbish, we told the canoe owner, and he asked us to take photos and then he would recycle it. At that moment I was really shocked and felt the good character of Hong Kong people!
We boarded a canoe and sailed through the scenic bay, admiring the sunshine on the rippling blue water and feeling the tranquility and beauty of nature.
The most impressive thing is seeing the fascinating caves, hidden coves and unique reefs, each of which seems to be a work of art from nature, waiting to be explored and appreciated! The clear sea water is perfect for snorkeling and observing the underwater ecology, allowing you to experience the wonders of nature firsthand.
I highly recommend this attraction to everyone!
Whether you are an adventure seeker who loves excitement or a nature lover who enjoys tranquility, Green Egg Island can satisfy your desire. The scenery here is picturesque and the water is clear. It is definitely an ideal place to relax and temporarily get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
I am looking forward to another chance to travel to Hong Kong🥰

Green Egg Island
Last week, when the weather was still good, we set out to challenge Green Egg Island. Green Egg Island is located in Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung. Take bus 91 from Diamond Hill MTR station to Sheung Sze Wan station, and walk for about ten minutes to Sheung Sze Wan. We rented a double canoe at a Sheung Sze Canoe shop. The price is 300 yuan for the whole day on holidays, from 9:00 to 17:00. Single canoes are also available. After going down to the rocky beach, we started paddling a canoe along the mountainside and arrived at the Green Egg Island attraction in about 45 minutes.
There is water there for snorkeling, and we brought our own snorkeling gear to snorkel. The water here is very clear, and you can see all kinds of fish, clownfish, corals, ginseng, etc. The environment on the island is very beautiful. The overall difficulty and physical strength required for the trip are not too high, so it is suitable for beginners.

Green Egg Island Day Tour
Address: Sai Kung Clear Water Bay Sheung Sze Wan to Green Egg Island
Environment/Facilities-Pure Canoe
Features - One-day tour to Green Egg Island
Price per person: 200
Rating – 4/5
A one-day trip to Green Egg Island is about 7km and takes about 3 hours to go back and forth (not including taking photos). Remember to apply sunscreen, as it will cause severe sunburn.
