Graz Museum
The Graz History Museum is located on the second floor of the historic Palais Herberstein building in the city center. The new permanent exhibition trilogy showcases the cultural heritage of Styria. Among them, the 'Schaudepot' exhibition hall is conceived as a 'display warehouse', covering cultural history collections and multimedia display areas. It, along with the '100×Steiermark' exhibition hall, is considered a milestone in the transformation of the Graz History Museum.
The first part of the exhibition hall displays a variety of industrial materials and historical artifacts. Despite the multifunctional and highly flexible exhibition space, the internal space maintains a consistent atmosphere. Exhibits of various shapes and sizes are presented to visitors, providing an unexpectedly rich spatial experience. The second part of the exhibition hall is a multimedia archive, a space that allows visitors to gain deep insights into the museum. Guided by the perspective space, visitors can embark on a wonderful journey of exploring multimedia materials. In the final part of the exhibition hall, all hidden treasures are presented to visitors. This space is filled with display cabinets woven from metal mesh, forming smooth transitions between each other, filling the entire space with a rugged industrial atmosphere, perfectly blending historical relics with modern design.
