In Hong Kong! Find the island in the comics
🌞The weather is just right, go to 🇭🇰 to check in the cute grassland island, Tap Mun Island. Watch the cows eat grass on the grassland🐂. Blue sky, white clouds, sea, this small fresh healing island, is the style in Miyazaki Hayao's comics.
•
I have been studying in Hong Kong for so long, and I discovered such a beautiful place for the first time! It's like crossing to the kind of grassland ranch in Australia or New Zealand, where cows are leisurely walking in the sun, 🌊the sea and the grassland are seamlessly connected. If you bring a folding chair🧊, have a picnic while watching the sunset at sea, it's like nature has overturned the palette🎨, it's simply too dreamy!
•
Tap Mun Island is not big, it takes about an hour to walk around the island🕔But to play on the island, of course, you have to enjoy the leisure time! So at noon or in the evening, you can try the local specialties here, sea urchin fried rice and iced pineapple, climb up the grass by the sea, and sit and listen to the song in the sea breeze.
•
The cows here are the real 'aborigines' on the island, they are not afraid of people, sometimes they will find food in the backpacks of campers, and they are super cute. While enjoying the beautiful scenery, remember to take away your own garbage~
•
⛵️There are two piers to go to Tap Mun Island: Ma Liu Shui Pier and Wong Shek Pier.
I personally recommend Wong Shek Pier, the boat ride is short and there are many shifts.
🌟If you live in the New Territories, you can take the No. 99 bus (towards Sai Kung, one every 20 minutes, remember to plan your time in advance) from Ma On Shan Station to Mai Bian Station. Then transfer to the No. 94 bus (towards Wong Shek Pier, one every 40 minutes), get off at the terminus, and you can take a boat to the island!
🌟If you live in Kowloon, you can take the No. 92 bus from Diamond Hill/Rainbow MTR Station to Sai Kung Bus Terminal, and then transfer to the No. 94 bus at Wong Shek Pier Terminal~If it is Saturday, Sunday or holiday, Diamond Hill also has a 96R that can go directly to Wong Shek Pier, super convenient!
•
In the refreshing season of autumn, the adaptation to Tap Mun Island is 💯! There are beautiful scenery everywhere on the island, no matter how you take pictures, they are all beautiful photos📸Remember, wearing plain, literary clothes on the day will make the photos more outstanding~

📍 Best Spot for Camping: When it comes to camping on Grass Island, the best spot is undoubtedly the Tap Mun Grassland. Camping under the stars ⭐️🌌
Lush green meadow and blue sea water are two colors to decribe this place. Grass island, just like the name, is covered by meadow, fresh green. That's why not only us enjoy this place, but some cows 😂 as well, so watch out when looking for a spot, not to step on cow dung.
Many things to enjoy and explore at Grass Island, from seafood 🦐🦞🦑restaurant nearby Tap Mun pier⚓️, hike to the top of the hill, picnic🧺, or kite flying 🪁, but for me, camping ⛺️ 👍👍.
It's windy at night, but sleeping while looking at the starry night🌌, just so comforting☺️ and calming😌
Make sure that you bring enough supplies if you want to camp. There some kiosk nearby pier where you can buy mineral water or snacks however it takes about 10 min walk from the camp-site. Same as the toilet 🚻
How to get there:
Take bus 94 from Sai Kung or 96R from diamond hill to Wong Shek Pier.
(Bus 96R from diamond hill available on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only)
From Wong Shek pier to Tap Mun pier around 30 min by ferry.

Looking to enjoy a weekend or short holiday in the wild? Grass Island (Tap Mun) is a good choice. The remote island with unofficial campsite perched in the hill offers a panoramic view both day time and night time specifically on a full moon session.

The island is also perfect for hiking and the beach is for swimming.

Because the island of Tamen is circular, so whether you get off the boat, go from the left or the right, you can finally go back to the dock. If you don't take pictures and go down for 1h~1.5h, if the time is better, you can just happen. Catch the boat back to Huangshi Wharf at 11:45. If you want to have plenty of time, take a lunch, walk around and pat, you can also board Longjing Pavilion. It takes about 2h~2.5h hours, so you dont have to The latest class is from the tower gate to the forage terminal at 5 pm.

| Complete guide to Tap Mun Island. Hong Kong | Tap Mun Island Hiking
Journey: There is a boat at 12:30 on the weekend for 30 HKD (Octopus or cash), and the return trip is at 5:30 pm. The journey is quite long, over an hour one way
Route: Exit B of University Station on the East Rail Line, walk to Ma Liu Shui Pier Tips:
1. Pay attention to sun protection!! Sun umbrellas, sunscreen, sunglasses
2. Remember to buy a bottle of water when you come out of the subway station! To avoid not having water to drink while walking to the pier and waiting for the boat
3. Power bank! The phone overheats and drains battery quickly in the summer heat
4. Remember to bring more cash $$! There are restaurants on the island where you can eat and buy water
However, the network signal is very poor, mine even had no service at all and couldn't scan the code == 5. There are cows on the island, speak softly so as not to startle them, and if you have food with a scent uu, pack it well so the calves can't smell it, otherwise, it will follow you! 6. It takes about two hours to walk around the island
In the end: Tap Mun Island is really too beautiful
Everyone go and take beautiful photos

Why travel far for a vacation?
There's such an island at the easternmost end of Hong Kong.
There are many cows here,
Because it's off the beaten path with fewer ferries, there are fewer visitors,
Thus, one can truly experience the serene and refreshing scenery of a less crowded outlying island.
Fishing boats can be seen everywhere
As the saying goes, 'Live off the land, live off the sea,'
The fishermen here rely on fishing for a living,
The various fishing boats moored along the shore are their means of transportation.
In the pictures, we can also clearly see the stones under the water.
Grass Island (English: Grass Island) is an island located between Tai Tan Sea, Tsim Chau Mun, and Tung Ping Chau Bay in Hong Kong, geographically close to Sai Kung East Country Park, administratively part of Tai Po District, near Sai Kung Peninsula North Sai Kung, with an area of 1.69 square kilometers. To the east of Tap Mun is the famous Lion Rock Rolling Ball of Gau Chau; to the south are Tap Mun Mouth and Ko Lau Wan; to the north are Tsim Chau Mouth and Tsim Chau; and to the west are Tai Tan Sea and Wan Chai Peninsula.
🚗 Transportation
To get to Tap Mun Island, of course, you have to take a boat, there are two options, one is to take a boat from the Ma Liu Shui Pier next to the Chinese University of Hong Kong (MTR University Station, a midway stop from Luohu to Hong Kong urban area railway), another way is to go to the Wong Shek Pier on the Sai Kung side. To enter the island, we chose Ma Liu Shui Pier (by the way, to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong), but to leave the island, we chose Wong Shek Pier (to have a delicious meal in Sai Kung).

I had a dream about an island.
One person, one bag, went to my pagoda gate without hesitation when the free travel in Hong Kong was resumed. Before this, I thought I would never dare to travel alone again, but I didn’t expect that I could do it. The original ecology, quietness, and the beautiful beach where I can sit all day long, the pain of traveling and traveling has long since disappeared.

Tap Mun is an island in Hong Kong surrounded by Long Harbor, North Channel and Mirs Bay in Hong Kong. With its picturesque sea view, this is a great place to go camping all year round. Gongbei Bay and the Sea View Pavilion are excellent camping areas. You can admire the sea, the sunrise, the sunset, and the natural landscape.
