Yen Depreciation Tokyo Cartoon Cafe Tour
Taking advantage of the yen's depreciation to 4.9 against the Hong Kong dollar, I used my Citibank debit card to spend in Japan and received a 10% rebate. I decided to spend a few days touring the cartoon cafes in Tokyo, which is more cost-effective than having a double dish meal in Hong Kong.
First Day
I went to Grandberry Park, where you can visit Shaun the Sheep Cafe and Snoopy Museum (Peanut Cafe) all in one go, making it very convenient.
The Shaun the Sheep children's set meal is only 900 yen, and the Peanut Cafe's peanut butter and bread set is just 1500 yen. Not only do they look exquisite, but they also taste great.
After that, we checked into a hotel in Kichijoji because the next day...
Second Day
Mitaka Forest, Ghibli Straw Hat Cafe
To visit this cafe, you first need to buy a ticket to Mitaka Forest. However, since the opening of Ghibli Park, the tickets have not been as hard to get as before.
The Straw Hat Cafe is inspired by the little girl in Totoro, Satsuki, and her straw hat. Every dish has her image on it, which is very thoughtful.
Third Day
We went to the Pompompurin Cafe in Harajuku. The whole cafe is yellow, like being immersed in a yellow pudding!
I highly recommend the 3400 yen sandwich basket and the 1600 yen Pompompurin curry rice.
