10-Day Honeymoon in Lijiang: Where Romance Became Our Daily Routine
💖 Every second of our 10-day honeymoon in Lijiang with my husband was filled with romance and surprises! GRAND JOLI Hotel felt like a warm harbor, while every corner of Lijiang hid heart-fluttering moments. Here’s my treasure itinerary to share with you~
🏯 First 3 Days: Immersive Wandering in Lijiang Old Town
On our first day at the homestay, we were awestruck by the panoramic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the rooftop terrace ⛰️! After a short rest, we strolled hand in hand into Lijiang Old Town. After snapping photos at the Big Water Wheel, we dove into the lively atmosphere of Sifang Street, savoring authentic Naxi grilled meat 🥩 and flower cakes. We even discovered a hidden gem of a hand drum shop, where the owner taught us simple rhythms—so much fun!
On the second day, we woke up early to explore the old town’s alleys without the crowds. Climbing Lion Hill, we overlooked the entire town, where white walls and blue tiles glowed softly in the morning light 🌅. In the evening, we found a quiet folk music bar on Bar Street, sipping drinks and swaying to the melodies—tipsy and romantic~
On the third day, we visited Mu Residence. With its red walls, green trees, and intricate eaves, it felt like stepping back into ancient times 📸! Listening to the guide’s stories about the Mu family, we were captivated by the charm of this "Forbidden City of Lijiang."
🌊 Middle 4 Days: Exploring Stunning Hidden Gems
On the fourth day, following the homestay’s recommended route, we visited Black Dragon Pool Park. The crystal-clear lake mirrored the snow-capped mountains, making every shot postcard-perfect! We even rowed a boat 🚣♂️—my husband at the bow, me at the stern, bathed in sunlight—pure serenity~
On the fifth day, we joined a day trip organized by the homestay to Blue Moon Valley. The lake was as blue as sapphires 💎, perfectly complementing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain—breathtakingly beautiful! We took countless couple photos by the lake, each frame worthy of being a wallpaper!
On the sixth and seventh days, we visited Shuhe Ancient Town. Quieter than Lijiang Old Town, we zipped around on electric scooters, lazed in cafés all afternoon ☕️, and found beautiful Naxi embroidered shawls at the market. Back at the homestay, the staff’s goodnight sweet soup made us feel utterly pampered~
🎭 Last 3 Days: Deep Dive into Lijiang’s Culture
On the eighth day, we attended the homestay’s Dongba script workshop. We learned to write this ancient script and made Dongba paper lanterns 🏮—a unique souvenir to take home.
On the ninth day, we explored Baisha Ancient Town, famous for its stunning murals and niche handicraft shops. At a tie-dye workshop, we crafted one-of-a-kind scarves 🧣 together.
On the final day, we relaxed in the homestay’s rooftop garden, enjoying complimentary afternoon tea as the sun set 🌇. Reflecting on these 10 days—filled with beauty, delicious food, culture, and the homestay’s meticulous care—even our skin glowed from the daily joy~
This honeymoon was made extra special by GRAND JOLI Hotel’s home-like warmth, with underfloor heating, Dyson hairdryers, and Frédéric Malle toiletries—every detail was thoughtful!
