I have a question that why Singaporean like buffet Sooooo much? This Monday morning I had lunch with my classmates at the all day dining of Grand Hyatt Singapore. I am surprised that 100% seat occupancy in the restaurant…. The hotel has long history… but are redecorating now…. And all day dining is finished redecoration with modern in-room design style. Really like the shrimp here very flesh with lemon to eat… Also laksa are very authentic and delicious with traditional Singapore cooking style…. And Grand Hyatt Singapore has very convenient location at Orchard…. that a good place to have a dinner or lunch with friends…

I stayed at the 1 King Bed Deluxe where it is equipped with a living area, work desk and two televisions. There is a bathtub in the room too. Do note that some of these room do not have bathtub so do check during check in. I enjoy the big space where the living room is perfect for a small celebration and having two televisions in the room makes it easy for different individuals to watch their favourite show. Another plus point of this hotel is their Halal certified breakfast! a wide variety of food!

Looking for a decadent place to dine and spend the afternoon with some good friends? Go for the afternoon tea set at 10 Scotts, Grand Hyatt Hotel Singapore and be prepared to be spoiled! I went with a couple of girl friends for afternoon tea and it was a luxurious affair with exotic food items such as smoked salmon with blinis, blue swimmer crabmeat with caviar (expensive!!), crispy curry puffs, plant based fish cake and yellow fin tuna loin. To top it off, dessert comes with strawberry tarts, caramel ice cream and scones with clotted cream. Booked a 3D2N staycation at Grand Hyatt here during the weekdays. Booking process and check in was seamless with very little hassle. Paid about $300++ in total after netting it off with the SRV vouchers as well thanks to sister trip. Location is pretty good - right at the heart of Orchard Road and just 10mins walk to the Orchard MRT with many shopping locations all around. Hotel will provide one complimentary carpark exit pass per day per room if you drive in as well (around 400+ parking lots within the carpark). Carpark is pretty narrow and dimly lit. Do not drive in during peak meal hours as it might get challenging to find a parking lot as well. Room is spacious, well-kept with equipped. Food selection was great too. Breakfast was served daily at the Straits Kitchen with the usual buffet spread. Service is fast and staff are all friendly and professional. Room is spacious, and very clean + well-equipped. Nice comfy sheets and pillows. Bathroom is also huge. Modern design and decor. Only downside is probably that some major parts of the hotel are undergoing renovation works and hence limited access to facilities (gym, swimming pool, carpark, etc.). The hotel very kindly provided 1 X Complimentary room bar per stay with soft drinks and a packet of chips. Front desk staff are so helpful in terms of providing us with lounge access while waiting for our rooms. Regardless, overall stay was still pleasant and enjoyable. Suitable for both business and pleasure. Efficient and elegant local service culture which is pretty hard to find these days as well. I'll be back! After we got our reassigned room at Grand Hyatt, we headed to Pete’s Place for dinner. I fondly remember this iconic Italian restaurant (opened since 1973!) and the many memorable dining experiences I had here with my good friends and family. Located at the basement level of the Grand Wing, this restaurant felt homely and comforting with the lovely brick walls and warm lights, plus actual opera music to suit the ambience as well. Given the 20% dining discount we had as part of our staycation package, we ordered 3 pastas to share: Spinach and ricotta ravioli, tagliatelle bolognese and linguini vongole. The rustic and authentic flavours of the food were delightful, my favourite being the linguini vongole as the cheese in the other two dishes were a little strong for my liking. On the other hand, my husband said he couldn’t taste the cheese (he likes strong cheeses), so I guess it’s up to your individual tastebuds to judge! As part of our package, we could enjoy a 3-course lunch at Mezza9. The restaurant has an open-concept kitchen where chefs whip up orders in full view of the guests, while the industrial-sized exhaust hoods above the stoves ensure your clothes don’t end up smelling of food. Overall, it was a refined yet intimate setting with a classy ambience to enjoy our lunch in. For appetizers, my husband and I got the sashimi salad and mezza9 salad to share. The salmon sashimi was yummy but unfortunately the chefs weren’t too generous with it. My husband particularly liked the seeds in the mezza9 salad. For mains, I ordered the steamed barramundi while my husband ordered the beef steak. My fish and rice was the ultimate comfort food and it tasted like it came out of a good old Chinese restaurant, just that the sauce was a little on the salty side. The steak was nice, but not out-of-this-world fantastic. For dessert, we went for the green tea soft serve and belgian chocolate fondant, both of which were pretty solid. My husband likes his matcha rich and milky, which this dessert delivered on, and the red beans went well with the matcha. The next day, we had our complimentary breakfast at 10 Scotts instead of StraitsKitchen as it was completely booked out for the timing we wanted. It was such an alluring space, with one particular section having a view of an actual waterfall located within the premises. As for the menu items, we could order as much as we liked without restriction. Do note that although they mentioned that their portion sizes were small when I checked (since we prefer variety over quantity), it turned out to be quite a decent serving size. Tastewise, the food was okay, not bad but not awesome either, except the delicious Char Kway Teow and the soft, flavourful chicken rendang from the Nasi Lemak dish. The layout and elements of the room included an awesomely large space with a bedroom and separate living area, low-lying furniture creating a zen-like aesthetic, as well as a huge marble-tiled bathroom. My husband also noted that the bathroom ventilation could be much improved. But this was a minor issue, especially since our this room had ledges by the windows I could sit on to read! That was a winner for me 😀 Service from all staff we interacted was splendid too. The swimming pool is located in the Terrace Wing (our room is located in the Grand Wing). Guests are required to book a slot during peak hours to use the pool, whereas for non-peak hours, walk-ins are accepted. The gym has enough capacity such that guests do not need to book a slot to use it and it is accessible 24-7 (just that guests have to enter via a different door after a certain timing). Choosing Grand Hyatt for our staycation was the best decision I have ever made! Not a single regret, in fact it was so good that after checking out, I immediately booked the same package for my parents so that they will be able to enjoy the beautiful experience too! Booked the Halal Foodie Staycay - Deluxe Room w Dinner & Breakfast for 2. But lovely Katherine over the counted after learning that I had 2 kids with me in tow, gave me a FREE UPGRADE to a 2 bedroom suite! She even played the element of surprise and told me to check out the surprise myself upon going into the room! minutes after settling down in the room, room service sent up a cake for my husband's birthday! Yet another surprise! Also, prior to checking in, I had emailed them to request for late check in, ie 6pm and late check out - 3 pm! With no questions asked, they acceded to my request almost immediately despite it being over email! Booking of the swimming pool was smooth too! Room cleanliness was tiptop, lovely bedding and linen, super spacious and well thought through bathroom lay out! PLUS toilet bowl has a bidet!! kids totally enjoyed bath tub time!
