[2024 Guangzhou Stay] Travel Guide for Grand Hyatt Guangzhou (Updated Nov)
This hotel is amazing.
Grand Hyatt Guangzhou is the fourth Grand Hyatt hotel in mainland China and is located in the business center of Zhujiang New Town, the new CBD of Guangzhou. The hotel is very conveniently located.
Hotel facilities:
The hotel was designed by Peter Remedios, a top architect from California. The hotel is a twin-tower building with a stylish and simple design. The modern and natural elements are cleverly integrated, revealing a low-key luxury.
The hotel lobby is located on the 22nd floor. The unique floor-to-ceiling windows offer a panoramic view of Huacheng Square. The lobby is decorated with wood, and the front desk and rest area are equipped with red lampshades. The design concept of the separate elevators for the lobby and guest rooms provides guests with more private services, which is more in line with the modern guests' need for privacy.
The hotel has a total of 368 rooms. The guest room I stayed in this time was a Garden View Room in Jiabinxuan, which offers a view of the natural scenery of Huacheng Square and covers an area of 45 square meters. The room facilities are relatively old but still complete.
The office desk is equipped with high-speed broadband Internet facilities, a universal conversion plug, and a standard iPod expansion base.
The big bed faces the window, and there is a glass partition between the bed and the bathroom behind it, which can be curtained. The bedding is of moderate hardness, and there are several pillows to choose from. There is a sofa area, and the bar is equipped with capsule coffee, TG tea bags, glass tea sets, and Nongfu Spring water.

🏨 Grand Hyatt Guangzhou
No.12 West Zhujiang Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou, Guangdong, 510623, China
Nestled in the bustling CBD, the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou is a beacon of luxury and convenience. With the iconic Canton Tower a stone's throw away, you're in for a visual treat! 🌃 The hotel boasts a plush mattress that promises a night of blissful sleep, and a spacious bathroom with a cleverly designed sink that can accommodate a trio without a squeeze. The only quirk? A bathtub that's more tofu block than oasis. 🛁
Foodies, take note! The breakfast spread here is legendary, with shrimp dumplings that'll have you coming back for seconds... or maybe even thirds! 🥟 Pair it with a view of the tower and a cup of milk tea for a morning to remember. 🍵
Getting around is a breeze, with key destinations and public transport just a short walk away. 🚇 Whether you're here for business or pleasure, the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou doesn't just meet expectations—it exceeds them!

Budget travelers are moved to tears, you must stay at this place when you come to Guangzhou!
Finally, I have some free time to write about my experiences over the past half month.
First, I took the high-speed train 🚄 to Guangzhou.
I wanted to stay close to the Canton Tower to enjoy the stunning night view of the Little Waist.
This hotel truly deserves the title of the king of cost performance.
The CBD, where every inch of land is precious, is indeed a gathering place for elite professionals.
Downstairs is a garden plaza and a sunken food court.
You don't have to miss out on morning runs, night runs, or delicious food.
🏨: The night view is self-explanatory, just looking at it is pleasing to the eye.
The mattress is great, relieving all the fatigue without being so soft that it causes back pain the next morning.
The private and independent bathroom is my favorite, resembling the style of Angsana Xi'an, but with an extra small sink for handwashing, earning it five 🌟! My favorite part is the sink; three people can use it without feeling crowded, and the mirror can be adjusted to multiple angles. This design is fantastic! The only downside is probably the bathtub 🛁, which is really disappointing, like a small tofu block, it's unbearable to look at.
🥣: Breakfast deserves special praise! Among all the places I've had morning tea and night tea in Guangzhou, the shrimp dumplings here are the best, bar none! These are the best I've ever had in my life! I probably ate more than 20 in one breakfast, and I'm not exaggerating. If you come, you might eat even more than I did! There are also many other delicious options, making breakfast totally worth it. Choose a good spot, and enjoy the tower view with milk tea!
🚇: Transportation is relatively convenient, with several desired destinations nearby. It's a short taxi ride, or just a few minutes' walk if you prefer the subway.

The Ritz-Carlton hotel that even Shangri-La cannot surpass.
The highest-end hotel brand in the Marriott hotel system; unbeatable exotic atmosphere; extremely gorgeous interior decoration; rare hall-style layout in the luxurious hotel lobby.
In the past few decades, there have been more and more hotels in large hotels that highlight Eastern elements or Eastern aesthetics. Those known domestically early on include Guangzhou China Hotel, Guangzhou Garden Hotel, Guangzhou White Swan Hotel, Macau Grand Lisboa Hotel, Foshan Grand Mercure Hotel, Hong Kong The Peninsula Hotel, Guangzhou The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, and Shangri-La Hotel. Later, the equally internationally renowned Mandarin Oriental Hotel entered the mainland from Hong Kong.
With the successful development of Shanghai Xintiandi and Foshan Lingnan Tiandi by Hong Kong Rui'an Real Estate Company as community shopping centers featuring characteristic architectural groups as shops, in the past decade, a large number of domestic or foreign brand hotels have followed suit, all taking Chinese local culture as their theme. For example, Guangzhou Kempinski Hotel, Guangzhou Rongchuang Shibaoge Hotel, Guangzhou Conrad Hotel, and Guangzhou Fuli Jun Yue Hotel.
The so-called Lingnan style concept has been overused by various high-end or low-end hotels, commercial streets, and shopping malls. Similarly, logos with fish and ocean as the theme or decorations with wood art as the core also frequently appear in Hilton or Hyatt hotels without surprise.
Fortunately, in Guangzhou, there is still a foreign luxury five-star hotel that is faithful to the brand's original cultural background and positioning, and guests won't guess the wall and hanging decorations inside just by standing at the entrance.
That is the Guangzhou Ritz-Carlton Hotel under the name of the Evergrande Group. It's a good hotel, but its popularity is relatively low in China. Compared to the luxurious decoration of the Shangri-La, it can be said to be only high and not low, but it excels in details. If you look closely at Figure 7 and Figure 8, such animal shapes are definitely not elements in Eastern culture. They are quite similar to the griffins in the famous game company's game "Heroes of Might and Magic" which were originally designed based on ancient Greek mythology.
The last attached picture is also an example. Public restrooms are so beautiful, and there is a handwashing sink like this at each end of a men's restroom. In Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, only The Ritz-Carlton probably has such luxury.
The lobby for check-in at luxury hotels nowadays is mostly located on the ground floor, with a few exceptions on higher floors, but the common feature is occupying a large space on a whole floor to express a grand feeling with an open floor plan. However, this hotel adopts a very rare small hall layout, which may seem difficult to understand but is conducive to customers appreciating the details of the hotel. Thinking outside the box leads to great results, after all, the hotel has spent a lot of money on decoration.
