Grand Hyatt Hotel Grand Hyatt Cafe
The Grand Hyatt Café is on the left side of the basement of the hotel, next to the fountain, and is not very conspicuous. It provides buffet, but it was not buffet time when I went, so there were not too many people and the environment was very quiet. The restaurant is very big, but it would not be too quiet during buffet time. As the restaurant is underground and there are many road works going on in Wan Chai, there would not be a very attractive view if you sit by the window. The hotel service was very considerate, when I wanted hot water, they provided an extra pot of hot water for me to add myself. The cafe has a lot of food options. In addition to Western salads, steaks, and pastas, there are also Asian Hainanese chicken, laksa, wontons, beef brisket, etc. Some main dishes are available in small portions. I chose a small laksa, which looks like a thin bowl, but the portion is not small. The laksa soup base is very good, not spicy, and has a light coconut aroma. It uses fried noodles and bean sprouts. The noodles and bean sprouts are eaten together, giving them two different textures. I really like this combination. The ingredients include fish fillet, half a boiled egg, chicken, prawns and tofu puff. The fish fillet is cut thicker and very chewy. The chicken is very good, without skin and bones, but not too slippery. The tofu puff absorbs the soup very well and it has a juicy effect when eaten. I don’t really eat spicy food, but I tried the chili sauce on the side out of curiosity. It’s not spicy, but very fragrant. After eating, you can also check in at the Christmas decorations on the first floor. There are many big teddy bears and you can ride on a sleigh. It attracts many parents and children to check in. Although Christmas has passed, the hotel still keeps the decorations for people to take photos. I don't know if it will be retained until the end of the year #GrandHyattHotel #grandhyatt #grandcafe #WanChaiGoodPlaces #WanChai #HotelRestaurant #WanChaiHotel
