Cappadocia: A dreamlike wonderland in Turkey.
✨Cappadocia is located on the Anatolian Plateau in central Turkey. It is famous for its unique karst landforms, which look like artworks carefully carved by nature. Countless stone pillars, stalagmites, and chimney-shaped rocks present dreamlike colors in the morning and evening light. It also has a long history, with ancient cave churches and underground cities bearing the memory of Byzantine Christian culture. Legend has it that this was once the home of elves, and the mysterious atmosphere adds endless charm to it.
🌟[Must-see attractions]:
- Goreme Open Air Museum: It is home to many cave churches with exquisite frescoes inside. The colors are still bright, and each one tells an ancient religious story.
- Love Valley: Named after its unique heart-shaped rocks, it is a must-visit place for couples to stroll and feel the romantic atmosphere given by nature.
- Sultan Cave Restaurant: A must-visit place to experience local cuisine. Dining in a cave and tasting authentic Turkish kebabs and special pot beef, the unique dining environment and delicious food are unforgettable.
- Goreme Town: Colorful hot air balloons float over the town, and there are various specialty shops on the streets. It is very pleasant to buy souvenirs or just stroll around.
🎈[Travel tips]:
It is recommended to spend 2–3 days here. On the first day, you can stroll around Goreme Town and get familiar with the surrounding environment; on the second day, take a hot air balloon ride in the morning to overlook the magical landforms of Cappadocia from the air (remember to book in advance); then choose one of the red/green/mixed lines to visit the Goreme Open Air Museum and Love Valley, learn about history and culture, and enjoy the natural scenery. You can also explore the underground city. You can adjust the order of your visit according to your preferences and booking situation, but it is best to arrange the hot air balloon ride on a sunny morning.
🏨[Accommodation tips]:
- Sultan Cave Suites: The hotel itself is in a cave style, which is very experiential. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and some rooms have views of hot air balloons.
- Cappadocia Cave Hotel: Cost-effective, convenient location, and hearty breakfast. You can enjoy a quiet accommodation environment here.
💌[Tips]:
- Choose a regular company for hot air balloon rides, pay attention to safety, and check the weather in advance, as the ride may be canceled in bad weather.
- Do not touch the frescoes in the cave churches and show respect.
- The temperature difference between day and night is large, so remember to bring a thick coat.

Found the fairy tale town of La La Land in Cappadocia
Göreme Town truly deserves to be one of the top ten most beautiful towns in the world.
Chased hot air balloons in the morning, found La La Land at night.
Life should be wasted in places like this 🥰

At the viewpoint on the top of the mountain, pass by the small stalls selling drinks🍺 and the flags🇹🇷, then walk deeper to find the La La Land check-in point.

Incredible sunrise in Cappadocia
This morning was one of the most magical in my life. I woke up at 4 a.m., opened the window and listened to the sounds outside. It seems quiet… When suddenly the sounds of popping and gas burners began to be heard in the distance - and I realized that it was time to hurry!
Just an hour later, I was standing on top of a mountain in the city of Goreme and watched the sky fill with dozens and hundreds of balloons. God, am I really seeing this with my own eyes? To this day, when I remember this feeling, I get goosebumps 😍

Goreme
Göreme is a village of around 2,000 people in Nevşehir province in Central Anatolia. It is well known for its ''fairy chimneys', rock formations, many of which were hollowed out in the Middle Ages to create houses, churches and 'underground cities'. Göreme was formerly known as Korama, Matiana, Macan and Avcilar.

Exploring Goremechi Stone Forest: A Surreal Geological Journey
There is a breathtaking Stone Forest in Goreme, Nevsehir Province, Turkey, which is the heart of the Cappadocia region. Golemichi Stone Forest is world-famous for its unique geological landscape and surreal rock formations, attracting tourists from all over the world.
When I stepped into this strange stone forest, I seemed to have entered a surreal world. The terrain here was formed after volcanic eruptions millions of years ago. After a long period of weathering and erosion, various strange-shaped rock pillars and hills were formed. Some rock pillars are tens of meters high and come in various shapes, reminiscent of castles in fairy tales.
I chose a popular hiking route, starting from the town of Goreme, where you can see the spectacular "Fairy Chimneys" along the way. These towering rock pillars have a strange shape and seem to rise from the ground. Under the early morning sunlight, the rocks appear golden and particularly charming. Along the way, you can also see ancient cave churches and dwellings, which were built by early Christians when they took refuge and are still well preserved today.
The most unforgettable experience for me was the experience of riding a hot air balloon overlooking the Goreme Stone Forest. When the hot air balloon takes off, you will have a panoramic view of the magnificent scenery of the entire area. The rolling hills and strange rocks shine in the morning light, making you feel like you are in a dreamland. This rare experience made me deeply aware of the uncanny craftsmanship of nature and the miracle of human civilization.
Every moment in Golemichi Stone Forest is full of surprises and shocks. It is not only a paradise for geology lovers, but also a destination that every traveler who loves nature and history cannot miss.

In the small town of Goreme, a morning belongs to a hot air balloon.
The town of Goreme in Cappadocia. It was just dawn and the whole town was bustling with activity. It turned out that a huge group of hot air balloons had begun to rise slowly. Standing in the gondola of a hot air balloon slowly rising into the sky, watching the colorful hot air balloons flying out of the miraculous karst landforms, you will feel a magical feeling. With the first rays of sunrise, the small town of Goreme turns into a fairy tale world.
Time flies so fast, and I still have so much fun getting off the hot air balloon. Next, use your feet to feel this land. The Gröme Valley and its surrounding areas are dominated by rocky hills of different shapes. Thousands of caves were dug on these rock faces, most of which were built by Christians who absconded from the Roman Empire. There are beautiful hangings on the tree next to the observation deck, and there are many local souvenirs that look like eyes. My friends said it was a bit strange, haha. When you come to the underground city, you can see cave-like villages and underground towns, and even very advanced ventilation methods. The history can be traced back to 3,000 years ago. Human wisdom is infinite.
Forgot to mention, the wonderful Cappadocia Gramme was also the filming location for the first part of "Star Wars" and was once called "the most moon-like place on Earth." Standing at the entrance of the mound, dreaming of putting on armor and holding a laser sword to kill everywhere, I am also a warrior!
Lunch is a special Turkish meal in Cappadocia, bread, vegetable salad, chicken rice or meatloaf rice. Instead of rice, it should be local corn crops. It tastes good. There is also dessert after the meal, which is super sweet, haha. After eating and drinking, we went to the "Uhlage" Canyon, a mysterious hiking route in Cappadocia. This is a desolate and mysterious world, because it is not easy to find it. The huge rocks on both sides of the canyon stood thick and majestic for an unknown period of time, and a small river of melted snow mountains flowed in the canyon. After walking down more than 300 steps to the bottom of the canyon, the canyon is full of life, and the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers are in sharp contrast to the ones above. Occasionally, you can see caves on the cliff. It is said that hermits lived here more than a thousand years ago. On the way, we encountered a floating tent teahouse, a huge turkey, and a grandma spreading pancakes. I just had limited time, but I really wanted to enjoy it here.
There is never enough time to have fun. I didn’t stay to experience the cave hotel. Let’s leave some regrets and find a reason for next time. We took a night flight with Turkish Airlines to Istanbul.

UK student reading week trip to Turkey.
UK student reading week trip to Turkey (return post)|||I went to Turkey with a good friend during reading week. The e-visa only took 10 minutes to apply for, and it wasn't too far away, so we both agreed on it.
Because of the recent terrorist attack in Turkey, we were a little worried, so we decided to join a local tour group for some peace of mind. We didn't need to plan anything and could just relax and enjoy the trip.
.
We only had a week, so we only spent five days in two cities: Istanbul and Cappadocia. We visited some classic attractions, such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, and Goreme Town. We also tried some activities, such as a Bosphorus cruise, hot air balloon ride, and a ride in a popular vintage car. Overall, the five-day itinerary was well planned, and we had a great time!
.
📝Some tips
1. Women need to wear a headscarf and cover their arms and legs when entering the Blue Mosque.
2. Students should bring their student ID cards, as many attractions offer discounts.
3. Don't exchange money at the airport, as the exchange rate is high. Wait until you get to the city center.
4. If you want to take a hot air balloon ride, book in advance and check the weather.
5. Watch out for dual pricing and don't get ripped off.
6. Bring a warm coat, as the temperature difference between morning and evening in Cappadocia is huge. It can be very cold in the morning when watching the hot air balloons.
.
👉Tour experience
We were satisfied with the whole trip. The car was a seven-seater, so we could sit or lie down comfortably. The driver drove steadily, and I didn't feel carsick at all. The hotels were star-rated and very clean, and we stayed in a cave hotel for one night. At the attractions, the guide would give us a brief introduction, and then we could take photos and check in at our own pace. It was very free and easy.
If you're still wondering where to go during reading week, Turkey is a great choice!

Cappadocia, the land of dragons and dungeons.
Hot air balloon rides in Cappadocia during National Day cost 400 euros, which is still too expensive for ordinary people. So I decided to take a mixed-line day trip and joined a Chinese tour group. It turned out to be surprisingly interesting. Fairy chimneys, rock castles, dragons and dungeons, like an adventure in Diablo.
Lunch is included, including free flatbread, a soup, a main course (choose from chicken, lamb, beef balls, etc.), and a dessert, which is a bit too sweet. Drinks need to be purchased separately. The soup and main course taste good.
In the afternoon, we visited the Ceramic Museum. They say the craft has been passed down for seven generations, with men making ceramics and women weaving carpets. However, it doesn't quite suit the taste of Easterners. The tour guide's Chinese is very fluent. The prices of the items on sale are all in US dollars, which are both tacky and expensive.
Next, we went to the Animal World. The most camel-like animal, with a shark head and penguin... The strange landforms have a desolate northwestern feel.
The next stop is the Mushroom Kingdom, also formed by the erosion of rocks, weathered by wind and rain, cracked, fallen, leaving only lonely stone pillars.

The heart of Cappadocia
When deciding on where to base yourself for your Cappadocia stay. The town of Goreme is perhaps your best bet. It works in several ways from better stay options to more facilities. More importantly it's right in the heart of the valley. While the tourist ly nature of it can repeal some people. Even in my personal case we moved to Uchisar the next day. But there isn't a better location than Goreme.
The main streets offer everything that a tourist requires from places to eat, to shops selling Cappadocia tours, gifts and general shopping. The location allows you a lot of flexibility. Here is my tip for those planning to head to Cappadocia. Make sure you research and take your time before picking a tour. They can be a hassle and based on what pictures have made you believe. Sharing the whole experience with 40 other people for the balloon ride and the waking up and transport in the weekend hours. Takes you away from a memorable experience. Sometimes simply waking up early and heading to your hotel's rooftop allows you some great pictures.

The night view at the Goreme Cave Hotel is so beautiful
Hey, when taking night photos at the Goreme Cave Hotel, you should pay attention to these things!
Knowing the weather in advance is a must, if I know it's going to be a clear night, I can take amazing photos of the stars and night scenery, I'd be as excited as if I were going to meet my idol! But the nights in Goreme can be bitterly cold, especially in winter, so I have to wrap myself up like a zongzi, I can't let myself freeze into an ice lolly and affect my performance!
The tripod is my treasure, once I put the camera on it, it's like I've found a stable home for it, blurry photos? That's impossible! When adjusting the camera settings, I feel like a scientist doing research, aperture, shutter speed, sensitivity, I adjust them one by one, just waiting to shoot a blockbuster effect!
When looking for shooting angles, I'm like an explorer, scurrying around the hotel, the terrace, the windows, the roof, every place might have a surprise, haha! Safety of course can't be forgotten, in the dark places I have to be extra careful, otherwise, if I take a tumble, that would be really embarrassing. If I go outdoors to shoot, I must bring a buddy, otherwise, it would be so boring.
I also constantly remind myself to be a civilized person, I can't disturb other guests' sleep or invade their privacy, otherwise, they might complain about me! After the shooting, post-processing is even more fun, I'm like a magician, making the photos look super good, wow, that feeling is just too great! In short, taking night photos at the Goreme Cave Hotel is simply a super fun adventure, every time I press the shutter it's like playing a super exciting game! Haha!
I hope these tips can help you take beautiful night photos at the Goreme Cave Hotel!

Cappadocia, Turkey
Cappadocia (known as Kapadokya in ancient Turkish) is famous for its unique landscape, characterized by its extraordinary rock formations, cave dwellings, and the historical remnants of a semi-troglodyte population. Its 'fairy chimneys' are as renowned as the country's Pamukkale, both holding the title of a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, with the former being listed three years earlier than the latter. In addition to highlights such as the Göreme Valley and the Ihlara Canyon, visitors can also explore some astonishing underground cities. From hot air balloon rides offering panoramic views of the mushroom-shaped houses scattered across the hills, to visiting local pigeon house residences, and staying in a five-star cave hotel, these experiences are unparalleled in any other Arab city.

Come to Goreme, Turkey, and experience the thrilling ATV ride
Goreme, a small town in Turkey, is known as an open-air museum, a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, famous for its unique landscape and romantic hot air balloons, attracting tourists from all over the world.
The town now exists for tourism, with various specialty shops and well-developed, safe tour routes. You can idle in a cave hotel or freely explore the national geological park. You can also join a day tour, among which, besides hot air balloons, the ATV Tour is undoubtedly the most popular activity.
🌟Highlights:
ATV, also known as an all-terrain vehicle, has a cool design and is suitable for any terrain. The downside is that speed and balance must be properly controlled, especially when turning or going uphill or downhill.
You can choose to rent and drive on your own, but most people prefer to join a tour group. The sunset route is the most popular; departing in the afternoon is neither hot nor tiring. You can experience speed and passion along with the tour, meandering through the strangely shaped valleys, stopping occasionally to take photos, beautiful, lively, and safe.
Especially when returning after watching the sunset, all the teams converge on one road, marching in a grand procession, which is spectacular!
💰Price: 180RMB for one person per vehicle, 220RMB for two people per vehicle (for reference only)
🕙Duration: About 2-3 hours
🗓Approximate Itinerary:
1. Wait at the hotel, the driver will pick you up and take you to the starting point. A group usually consists of about 10 vehicles, generally two people per vehicle.
2. After arriving at the company, you will be assigned masks and helmets, and you can choose your vehicle and get accustomed to it.
3. Departure, the route includes brief stops at about 5 points, with the climax being the sunset, where you can admire the golden Rose Valley under the afterglow and a 360-degree panoramic view.
4. After watching, regroup and ride back to the starting point. It is customary to open a bottle of champagne to celebrate, and finally, you will be taken back to your hotel.
📝Tips:
1. Masks and sunglasses are a must because the route is dusty;
2. No matter the season, it's best to wear a thin jacket, as it can be a bit chilly in the morning and evening.
3. Pay special attention when turning or going uphill, as the front of the vehicle is heavy and lacks agility. Be cautious with the brakes or steering to avoid drifting and potential accidents.

Hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey in winter
In Turkey, I think the most romantic thing is to ride a hot air balloon to appreciate the karst landscape, but because the starting rate of hot air balloons in winter is very low, I will share some tips.
The first and most important thing is luck. Some people stay for several days without catching up, but if you want to increase the probability of catching up with the hot air balloon, the best way is to book for more than two nights. In addition to watching hot air balloons, staying for three days and two nights in Cappadocia will not be boring. There are many other good attractions here, such as underground cities, Uchisar Castle, and you can also walk to appreciate Rose Valley and so on.
The second is that you can pay attention to some predicting bloggers in the past. They will have a rough estimate of whether the hot air balloon will take off within a week. Although it is not very accurate, it can also be used as an auxiliary judgment.
About the choice of hotel: Stay in Goreme, it is very convenient to book hot air balloon and other projects here. The accommodation here is very expensive. We chose a semi-cave hotel with a higher cost performance. The reason why it is called a semi-cave is because it is a hotel built by relying on a cave, which is very clean and warm. You can overlook the town from the hillside.
About the price of hot air balloons: It will fluctuate at any time every day. We booked it for 60 euros per person. Although it is not the cheapest, the experience of less than twenty people in a frame is quite good. The off-season price is really cheap.
Finally, I wish everyone a great luck.

There is also the beautiful La La Land-style observation deck
It is the most beautiful place in Goreme in my opinion!
🧭 Location: Navigate to Sunset highest/Sunrise
🎫Ticket: 10 Lira (cash only! Remember to bring cash)
⏰: Starting half an hour before sunset, every frame of every minute is a different beauty. The sunset time is different in different seasons. According to the sunset time in the weather forecast, go up the mountain about an hour earlier and wait for the sunset. There is a bar on the top of the mountain where you can rest.

Turkey | Super romantic hot air balloon experience
| Super romantic hot air balloon experience.
Cappadocia, the most moon-like place in the world, humming "Take you to romantic Turkey", the picture that immediately comes to mind must be the magical cave stone houses of Cappadocia, the flying house tour of colorful hot air balloons in the sky, the candlelight dinner in the open-air restaurant of Goreme Town, and the sunrise and sunset of the moon surface in the Rose Valley.
When you come to Cappadocia, don't miss the hot air balloon. You can enjoy the sunrise on the spectacular terrain and watch the amazing panoramic natural landscape.
In the early morning, take a hot air balloon, listen to the sound of the flame burning and the sun slowly rising together, overlooking the alien world of various rock structures into chimney-like structures with the first ray of morning light, colorful hot air balloons spread with the light of sunrise Full of the sky, below is the vast earth with ravines, and the honeycomb-like terrain looks as magnificent as the moon's surface from the air.
As the hot air balloon gradually rises, the scene is very spectacular, things on the ground start to become smaller and smaller, the scenery starts to become different, and the field of vision becomes wider. Hundreds of years ago, a volcanic eruption created this unique lunar-like terrain on the earth, which was rated as one of the top ten planetary beauties by National Geographic.
Tips:
Hot air balloons are very dependent on the weather, they cannot fly in rainy or windy days, or when the cloud layer is thick, so summer is a good travel time, the sunrise is early, the wind is mild, the weather is not cold, it is a good season for hot air balloons!

I watched a hot air balloon sunrise in Cappadocia with my dog
Seven years later, I returned to the romantic Cappadocia. The scenery is still beautiful, but the prices have skyrocketed.
🚗Transportation: Fly domestically to Istanbul, Turkey, then transfer to domestic flights to Kayseri or Nevsehir, and then transfer from the two airports to the town of Goreme by minibus. If you can take a night bus, you can also take a night bus from Istanbul to Goreme.
🏠Accommodation: As the water rises, the boat rises. The price of a slightly nicer terrace hotel is basically between 150-300 euros. There are also more economical ordinary hotels, 50-60 euros. If you have a budget, it is recommended to go directly to the terrace hotel, which can take very good photos.
🪀Entertainment: Hot air balloons are probably a must-play project for many people. Now it has risen to 200-300 euros. There are also MTVs, and you can rent a classic car for a ride.
🍜Catering: There are several Chinese restaurants, with an average cost of about 150, which is acceptable in the scenic area.
📷Photo check-in points: Search for sunset point on Google Maps, the fee is 10 lira, you can't go up the mountain, you can see the whole town of Goreme. The sunset is very photogenic, the sunrise hot air balloon is even more photogenic, you have to get up at 5 o'clock for the sunrise, wear more clothes, it's cold!

In addition to these surface landscapes, there are more than 30 excavated underground cities. The Cappadocian people used these natural pillars to build houses, hollowing out almost all of the stone pillars, laying floors on the ground, painting murals on the ceilings, as if returning to the life of primitive cave dwellers.

Balloons, facing the morning glow, bathed in the light, overlooking the local wonders.
Appearance, volcanic canyons with undulating mountains and criss-crossing gullies, and elf chimneys.
With cave grottoes, it's very romantic.
Stay in a cave hotel: you must experience the feeling of being in a cave at least once.
Hotels, they are built on the mountainside, not only looking quite original from the outside.
At the beginning, the scenery inside also carries a natural and free atmosphere. It seems
Similar "chimneys" have been carefully designed with some thought,
Each room has its own unique style.
Open-air museum: Although there are many churches in Cappadocia,
Graymeadow is relatively concentrated and well-preserved.
Approach them, and you will see introductions at the entrance of each church.
The historical monument at that location.
Rose Valley: This valley located in the national park is a local
The best place to watch the sunrise and sunset. Enjoy the Rose Valley from afar,
It can be found that under the long-term erosion of flowing water, the originally hard rocks
Also became fragmented. Year after year, it formed the special Rose Valley.
Unique topography.
Wawel Castle: The prototype of the castle is very huge.
The rocks, reaching a height of sixty meters. Watching one by one, hidden yet
Transparent cave rooms, one cannot help but marvel at the wisdom of our ancestors.
As a modernist work of art, the Uchisar Castle itself...
It's just a scenery.
At dusk, the canyons of Cappadocia gradually turn red under the sunset, like rolling waves of rocks, resembling the surface of the moon. The unique terrain shines with unparalleled beauty at this time.

So beautiful it takes your breath away.
✈️Went to Gréme to play, then flew to London and landed at Kaiseli Airport, and then had the hotel arrange a car to pick us up to the hotel.
🏨The hotel we stayed in was Lunar Hotel. The hotel has a lawn which is quite beautiful, but it's too humid and the sound insulation is a bit poor. This hotel is adjacent to the popular hotels Sudan and Mithra Cave Hotel. One morning, besides taking photos of hot air balloons on the rooftop of our hotel, we also went to the Mithra rooftop to take some pictures.
🍴The restaurant to check in is Seten, with a great view, suitable for going at night. The dishes are not bad but not particularly delicious. We also went to Meihua Chinese Restaurant, and the taste was okay. The prices are really much cheaper than London. The price of a French meal here can match the price of a dish in a London Chinese restaurant.
🚗In the small town of Greyme, you don't need transportation, you can walk everywhere unless you're going to a tourist attraction, but usually they provide shuttle services.
🎡We played and went on a hot air balloon ride. The second batch of Butterfly House is open to both the first and second batches, and you can also watch the sunrise in the second batch. The whole hot air balloon ride is quite stable, but it goes up and down intermittently. If you are afraid of heights, don't worry too much. You can book through 🍑 and Shangzhi Travel is reliable. We also went to play with the sunset 🌄 in an old-fashioned car. If you are afraid of dirt and sand, don't play ATV, it's really dirty. Playing with the old-fashioned car will also leave you covered in sand and tangled hair.
In short, Grayme is still worth playing. The main activity is to chase the sunrise and sunset in various ways. We didn't go to the famous Red and Green Line because it was too hot and sunny, and we didn't want to walk outdoors. The vintage cars and hot air balloons are enough to appreciate the geological landscape of Cappadocia.

Goreme sunset viewpoint
#bucketlistreboot
Goreme sunset point is the easiest and best place to watch sunset over the town and nearby valley. Key in sunset point on the GPS, it will lead you, is about 850 metres 8 minutes walk, or you just look out for the big Turkey flag.
You need to pay a small fee at the ticket booth in order to continue walking up to the road to the point. Be prepare for a steep hill walk, especially at the end to take you to the top, bit you will be reward the best view overlooking Goreme Town and valley. This is also the best point to watch sunrise when the sky is full of balloon.
