Trip to the Glacier 🚗
#outdooradventures
My trip to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in Iceland was absolutely surreal! 🌊 Located about 5 hours from Reykjavík, it’s a journey through otherworldly landscapes before you arrive at this incredible glacier lake. There’s no entrance fee, and you can park right next to the lagoon. Watching the massive icebergs drift lazily on the water with the Vatnajökull Glacier in the background felt like something out of a dream. The ice has this dazzling blue color, especially when the sun hits it just right!
I highly recommend taking a boat tour, which gets you up close to the icebergs and seals swimming nearby! 🛶 It costs around €40-50, but totally worth it to experience the glacier’s majesty up close. Just standing there, watching these ancient chunks of ice float by, you feel the power and beauty of nature. I also visited Diamond Beach, right across the road, where smaller icebergs wash up on the black sand. The contrast between the ice and sand is stunning! 💎
Nearby attractions include Skaftafell National Park, perfect for hiking lovers, and Svartifoss Waterfall, which has those iconic basalt columns. If you're looking for a magical and unique experience in Iceland, Jökulsárlón is a must-see!

Visiting Jökulsárlón was like stepping into another world! 🌍 This stunning glacier lagoon in southeastern Iceland is a must-see. I got there around mid-morning to catch the light glistening off the icebergs, which float serenely in the deep blue water. There’s no entrance fee, so you can simply drive up, park, and explore. The first sight of those giant ice chunks drifting towards the Atlantic left me speechless. 🧊 The lagoon is surrounded by black sand beaches, and I even spotted some seals playing near the icebergs!
The best part of my visit was taking a boat tour on the lagoon (around 6,500 ISK), which brought me up close to the icebergs. Being out on the water, feeling the cold air, and hearing the ice crack was magical. It was like a scene out of a movie! 🎥 The boat guide was informative, telling us all about the glacier’s history and the formation of the lagoon. Don’t forget to check out Diamond Beach nearby, where icebergs wash up on the black sand shore, glittering like jewels. 💎
Afterward, I drove a bit further to Vatnajökull National Park, where you can see more of the glaciers and take some incredible hikes. The scenery is out of this world, and it really makes you appreciate the raw beauty of Iceland. 🏞️ If you're a fan of nature and unique landscapes, Jökulsárlón should definitely be on your travel list.

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon: Stunning Scenery, Tranquil and Healing
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon was the place I was most looking forward to visiting before my trip to Iceland. Despite encountering a hurricane and stormy weather, I finally made it there after many twists and turns. It was absolutely worth it! So healing!! So beautiful!!! The beauty is truly breathtaking at every step, and that's no exaggeration. The tranquility and healing effect of the quiet lake and massive glaciers make you feel the insignificance of humanity and understand the impermanence of life. If you take a boat tour, you can get up close to the ice and seals, navigating through the fallen ice, which is incredibly dreamy.

The actual ICELAND !! 🧊❄️

📍Diamond Beach Parking, Jökulsárlón, 781, Iceland
Iceland will never be Iceland without ICE !!!!!🧊
Perfect to bring kids around to feel, touch, see, hear and even have a taste of the 1000 years old ICE!! 🧊☃️ You can find the perfect ice and have the best photos on insta!! 🧊🩷You can either enjoy the view of the Jökulsárlón lake with a 30 minutes walk or join the cruise for a tour around the lake. If you are lucky enough, you will be able to see seals swimming around the lake 🦭🦭.
Walk across the bridge you will reach the diamond beach💎💎 where all the ice accumulate at the shore and looks like diamonds 💎. ⚠️ Be careful!! Do not walk too close to the sea, waves 🌊 are huge and dangerous ❗️
💲No entry fees
🅿️ 1000Kr for parking a family car (up to 5 seats): share across three parking. I recommend going to the one nearest to the Jökulsárlón first where the pay machines and free toilets are!!

Summer at the glacier lake.
Does Iceland have a summer this year?
I haven't worn short sleeves for two days...
I wear a waterproof and warm coat every day
I have to change into a down jacket at night
One day I escaped the gale
One day I avoided the heavy rain
But
Who can stop
The cool wind!
The endless rain
Theoretically speaking
This is the time of summer, and the weather is barely satisfactory

The Story Behind Iceland's Stunning Landscapes
Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon is one of the must-visit attractions in southern Iceland. In fact, historically, the glacier lagoon did not exist. It has only formed in recent decades due to the astonishing rate of melting and shrinkage of the Vatnajokull glacier. The icebergs from the glacier began to flow into the lake, leading to the formation of the lagoon as we see it today.
The icebergs in the glacier lagoon display various colors. The icebergs that have just slid off the glacier are more crystal clear, while the light blue icebergs have been compressed by various glacial actions. They become denser and absorb different wavelengths of light, taking hundreds to thousands of years to form. The black icebergs are formed by repeated compression and sedimentation after being tainted with mud and volcanic ash.
In recent years, the glacier lagoon has also been expanding, which, while making the scenery more beautiful, also signifies an increasing concern as the glaciers melt more intensely. Global warming accelerates the melting of glaciers, causing more icebergs to break off. As the lagoon's area expands, it also signifies the gradual disappearance of the glaciers. Indeed, protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility, and even small daily actions can have an impact on the other side of the planet.

The magical land of 'Fire and Ice'—Iceland
Iceland, located in the middle of the Atlantic, is a magical land known as the 'country of fire and ice'.
This land intertwines the roaring of volcanic eruptions with the silence of glaciers, creating some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.
Walking through Iceland is like being in a mysterious fairy tale world: between towering mountains, lava waterfalls rush down, with rainbows dancing in the mist.
Huge icebergs float on glacial lakes, twinkling with an enchanting blue light. As night falls, the aurora dances in the night sky, dreamlike and mesmerizing, captivating the heart and soul.
These are just the tip of the iceberg of Iceland's charm.
Coming here, you will be stunned by the power of nature, intoxicated by her beauty.
Iceland is waiting for your exploration, waiting for your discovery.
Vatnajokull National Park is the largest national park in Iceland, established in 2008, with a total area of about 14,000 square kilometers. It is located in southeastern Iceland and includes the Vatnajokull glacier and surrounding mountains, volcanoes, lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and other natural landscapes. Vatnajokull is one of the largest ice caps in Europe, covering more than a third of Iceland. There are also many other natural landscapes in the park, such as Dettifoss, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, Jokulsarlon glacier lake, Grindavik volcano, etc., it is a spectacular place. As a national park, the main purpose of Vatnajokull National Park is to protect and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the area, while providing opportunities for visitors to engage in outdoor activities and natural exploration. The park offers many activities such as hiking, glacier climbing, skiing, rock climbing, etc., allowing visitors to experience these beautiful landscapes up close.

Glacier and some beautiful landscapes in iceland 🇮🇸
One of the best place to capture the glacier and landscape must be iceland!
Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon is one of the Iceland’s major attractions and highlights. This place is definitely one of my favourite place in iceland as you can see the glacier floating on the water and that’s incredible. Moreover, the diamond beach is more insane as I couldn’t think of there’s any ices on the beach but there here is !
Furthermore, I couldn’t use the single word to describe how’s amazing the landscape in Iceland . When you see it and able to travel to Iceland , you will understand what I mean and you will love it !

My visit to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in Iceland was a surreal encounter with nature's artistry. Nestled in the southeastern part of the country, this otherworldly lagoon dazzled me with its icy expanse and floating icebergs. As I stood on its shores, the glacial giants reflected in the water's stillness, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. The vivid blue hues and the haunting silence were captivating. The lagoon's remote location and its accessible hours allowed me to absorb its tranquility. The Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon wasn't just a destination; it was a testament to the Earth's wondrous creations and a poignant reminder of the impact of climate change, leaving me in awe of its beauty and humbled by its fragile existence.

Glacier lake blue ice, the world is silent like a mystery
car opened more than 200 kilometers, burned half cylinder oil, experienced ten heavy rain, met a rainbow, we arrived at the glacier lake. The rain is still coming out of the window, huge blue ice is shrouded in rain and fog, and the world is silent.
Landnmabk writes that Irish monks are the first settlers in Iceland. A few hundred years later, a Scandinavian sailor, Flki Vilgerarson, saw a few ice floes floating in the fjord during the extremely cold winter, and named the island Iceland.
Did they see the same scene as we saw it? The rain is a little smaller. We walk slowly along the glacial lake. The glacial lake is also called Jokulsarlon, the largest and most famous glacial lake in Iceland. The bottom of the lake is as deep as 200 meters. The clouds gradually dissipated, the sky is blue, the water is blue, and the big ice is blue. All this is like a dream. Oh, no, I have never seen such a scene in my dreams. This is like an aurora, an unprecedented experience.
This deep blue seems to break into the heart, control the soul of the person, stand in front of the primitive and cold nature, and the people are awe. Think of Taizai's words: "Happiness is such a thing, it will sink to the bottom of the sad river, faintly shining, like gold."
icy crystal blue ice, people's loneliness Raise at the same time as awake.

Ice Lake Punch in Winter
This Jeju Sharon Lake in southeastern Iceland is now a must-see for every visitor to Iceland. In the winter, the boat has already stopped the sightseeing on the lake, and the bad weather makes it even more mysterious.
Jegu Salon Lake is a natural lagoon that has become a unique landscape today due to the huge ice that floats in the Vatna Glacier Park. The icy lake at dusk is extraordinarily quiet. The huge blue ice cubes float quietly on the lake, and the small seals that sometimes come out of the water break the tranquility here, but also attract more tourists.

Early nuclear warning, polar bears
The big ice you like is coming again. This time, the Wannian Glacier across the road from Diamond Beach, first popularizes knowledge: it is located at the southern end of the Vatna Glacier in southeastern Iceland. Glacial lakes began to appear in 1934-35, due to the massive melting of Icelandic glaciers (thinking about global warming), from 7.9 square kilometers in 1975 to 18 square kilometers today. These large ice cubes are blue in color because of their age. And even at zero temperatures, they are difficult to completely melt. So whether it's summer or winter, you can see these big ice cubes here.
How to shoot?
1 I want to shoot the nine-square grid. Its a little monotonous for the white flowers. Its better to prepare a set of clothes for the scene. Ive seen this polar bears clothes on the Internet before I came, and its so cute, and Polar bears and glaciers are a family. The effect of the later period is not worth the cost. I took it all the way (very occupied, a piece of clothing accounted for half of the suitcase...).
2 When shooting a glacier, it is best to take a tripod (I have three cameras on the day, two lenses plus an aircraft, the tripod is really not hand-held...) but there is a shelf that can be shot with a slow door. The water reflection, if you don't take it, you can only take the water ripples. Remember to turn down the color temperature before shooting, the reference value is about 4000.
3 If you want to take a panoramic view, you can climb to the mountain. Don't worry, it is actually a small earthen bag next to the lake. It will take a minute to rush to the top of the bag.

Sparkling diamond beach | Please check today's big ice scorpion
A few days before the trip to Iceland is sunny, I am filled with joy and thought that this time can also be crystal clear on the diamond beach The ice can also reflect warm sunlight. But on that day, the helplessness of the heavens is not beautiful, and the clouds are not covered. When it comes to the diamond beach, it is a gloomy face, and the waves are still very big. They all said that they had a good film on a cloudy day, but they still admire the big ice scorpions that others started in the sun, but they really have to wait for a few days or try their luck. Most of the time, the weather is still gloomy.
But even with such a bad weather, we have to continue shooting. Without the light, I changed more of the films I showed out.
How to shoot ice cubes?
1. Don't worry too much on a cloudy day. You can use the fog and the cloudy sky to shoot the fairy atmosphere in the clouds, place the characters in the center as much as possible, and sit in the foreground with big ice.
2. The character can choose to lie on the ice in the front body or sit on the ice, or you can lie down without any problem, provided that you have to resist freezing (zero to ten degrees, my face and hands are Frozen red).
3. Hold the ice cubes in a close-up, but the premise is that you have to resist freezing, it is too cold.
4. Special attention should be paid here. There is also a vick black beach. In fact, the waves are particularly large. It is the kind that looks small, but when the waves come over, it may take you away, so it is still safe. First, try to stay away from the place too close to the beach when shooting.
I have to come again, and then look at the big diamonds with light.

blue ice hole refers only to an ice cave formed inside the glacier. In the summer, many ice caves are forming inside the water. In the winter, the water inside the ice cave is less and less, and gradually becomes ice. The most widespread ice hole in the publicity, that is, many of the beautiful pictures that everyone sees, comes from a crystal ice cave. Yes, every ice cave has a name.
You can find a local professional guide to participate in the Ice Cave Quadruple Mission. The meaning of a private group is that the whole group is two or four of you, contracting an entire ice cave, and pats it.
The ice cave we went to called the white walker ice cave named after the two white lines in the cave. This cave is a local guide and pure manpower has cut out the ice ladder and ropes that go down to the ice hole. Our private guide tells us that they check and maintain the entrance conditions every day. If they find that the ice cave is not suitable for visiting, they will stop in time. Keep visitors safe.
Look carefully at the details of the blue ice cubes. There are a lot of small bubbles, although not very crystal clear, but you will also get lost in this blue. The ice cave is really worth a look.

Glacier Lake, also known as Jiegu Sharon Lake, is the largest and most famous glacial lake in Iceland. The lake is blue and clear, and many large ice cubes of various shapes float on the lake. It is very spectacular, and many Hollywood blockbusters are here.
came to the glacial lake, and thought that he had reached the Antarctic continent. With the drift of the iceberg and the change of shape, the glacial lake every day is a different scene. In addition to the blue ice, there are super cute seals in the lake. It is definitely an ice age that is freely combined by ice!
Jegu Sharon Lake is divided into east and west sides. The east bank is next to a bridge. There is a large parking lot. There are many tourists and you can see many seabirds and seals, but it is not easy to walk to the depths of the lake. Only the entrance A small area can be played. The West Bank is one kilometer from the east coast. There is only one small parking lot. The beach is flat and it is very suitable for walking on the blue ice, but there are no seals.
Best way to visit:
1 Walk along the lake, usually the deeper the more beautiful.
2The boat travels through the ice floes and is divided into amphibious boats and rubber boats. The tour time is one hour, and there are people on the boat to explain. This project is only available in summer, it is very hot and must be booked in advance. Because there are not many ice floes seen on the shore in summer, I still recommend that you take a boat to the center of the lake to watch the ice floes. The price of the amphibious ship is 5700 ISK/person; the price of the rubber boat is 9800 ISK/person.

Iceland's beaches and mud are actually black, so the cloudy Iceland is a special magic.
Because Iceland has many active volcanoes, the black sand is derived from volcanic lava. Although there are many black sand beaches in Iceland, this black sand beach is more famous because of the basalt columnar joints on the beach. The
basalt is formed in a volcanic eruption, and the magma is condensed after it has cooled. These uneven stone pillars are incomparably regular shapes, just like artificial carvings, like the scenes in anime.
The two reefs on the sea are also from volcanic lava, very magical. The sky suddenly changed again, and the waves rolled over, more like a magical world.
It is recommended to wear bright clothes, which will create a strong visual impact with the black background.
