I especially recommend to visit major Ghent churches (including St. Babo Cathedral in the city centre) - their windows incredibly "play" with sun and bright colourfully. Next step of the trip can be also a cruise along the Ghent river as it allows to see the city from different angle. When visit Ghent it's also highly recommended to go to Antwerp and Bruges - two other must sees in the Flanders

Ghent is a Belgian city full of medieval charm, with a spectacular castle, ancient canals and a bustling market square. Visit Gravensteen Castle to get a glimpse into the bygone era of chivalry, and stroll along the River Leie to admire beautiful historic buildings such as Saint Bavo’s Cathedral and the Belfry of Ghent. In addition, Ghent is also a vibrant student city with many bars and restaurants. The local specialty "Waterzooi" is worth a try. Ghent is not as crowded as Bruges, but it is equally charming and a treasure city that cannot be missed when traveling to Belgium.

It's a short train ride away from Brussels. This is Belgium's ancient capital, with unique buildings lined up along the river. There is a large bell tower and church in the square. It's a great place to visit the church, walk around the town, or sit by the river and enjoy the view. If you have time, there is also a modern art museum, so it's worth checking out.
