[2025 Naju-Si Attraction] Travel Guide for Geumseonggwan Hall (Updated Mar)

This is a day trip course to Naju that you can take a day trip to. It's a little hot, but Naju in the summer has fragrant trees and colorful flowers! Check out the day trip course and head to Naju! 1️⃣Naju Station Historical Park : 26 Jukrim-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ The old Naju Station is a modern building that began operations in 1913 when the Honam Line opened. Unlike the stations of today, it's a cute building, so it's great for taking pictures! 2️⃣Nampa House : 13 Geumseong-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ This house, which has its current appearance in the early 20th century, is said to be a place with great historical significance because it shows the structure of a local upper-class house at the time and is well preserved. ✔️ If you visit in the summer, it's great for taking pictures on the wall with rhododendrons in bloom! 3️⃣Nampyeong Halmaejip : 143 Naju-ro, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ When you think of Naju, you think of gomtang! A gomtang restaurant with 60 years of tradition, with a deep broth and refreshing radish kimchi 🍯If you go on the weekend, you'll have to wait until 3 PM at popular Hayanjip or Noanjip, so I recommend going to a different gomtang restaurant! 4️⃣Geumseonggwan : 8 Geumseonggwan-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ This is a symbolic historical site that shows how Naju played a central role as the leader of Honam, and it's really close to Gomtang Street, so be sure to stop by! 5️⃣Lightning-Struck Pine Tree : 13-8 Geumseonggwan-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ A pine tree that split in two after being struck by lightning in the 1980s. Naju people tied up pine trees and prayed for their survival, and they believed that seeing the miraculously revived pine trees would bring good luck. They say that if you hug the pine tree and make a wish, it will come true, so please visit! ✨️ 6️⃣3917Majung : 42-16 Hyanggyo-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ This is probably the hottest cafe in Naju... It also operates a stay and is a filming location for the drama 'I Know' :-) 7️⃣Najuhyanggyo : 38 Hyanggyo-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ It was founded in 1398 for secondary education and the enlightenment of local people in the Naju region. You can see a huge zinnia tree 🌺 8️⃣Hansuje : Gyeonghyeon-dong, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do 〰️ A great place to take a walk along the reservoir and enjoy the cool autumn breeze🍂 9️⃣Breeze : 11 Seonchang-gil, Naju-si, Jeollanam-do, 2nd floor 〰️ A cafe with a great view of Yeongsan River and forest! Naju Gaeksa, designated as a treasure on October 25, 2019, is a ceremonial space where the royal tablet symbolizing the king and the palace tablet symbolizing the palace are enshrined and rituals are performed. Passing through Manghwalu and entering inside, you will find the Jung Sammun in the middle, and passing through the Jung Sammun, you will reach Geumseonggwan. Naju is located in the southwest of South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Here are some of the main tourist spots: Historical and Cultural Sites - Naju Walled City: Built in the early Joseon Dynasty, it is the largest walled city in South Korea, with a perimeter of about 3.7 km. The four gates have been completely restored. Inside the city, Geumseonggwan was a guesthouse for the governor of Naju, and Geumhakheon, where governors used to live, now serves as traditional Korean accommodation. - Naju Hyanggyo: Similar to a Confucian temple or village school in China, it was built in the early Joseon Dynasty and has been well preserved, never having experienced a fire. The architectural layout is that of a temple in the front and a school in the back. Behind the Daeseongjeon Hall is the Myeongnyundang Hall, and there are many stone inscriptions outside the buildings. - Naju National Museum: The museum houses a large collection of cultural relics and artworks related to the history and culture of the Naju area. Through various exhibits, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of Naju's historical changes, cultural heritage, and folk customs. It is an important place for learning and researching local history and culture. Natural Scenery - Yeongsan River: The Yeongsan River basin is famous for preserving 5th-century Japanese keyhole-shaped tombs. The river has the only freshwater bathing beach in South Jeolla Province, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful, varying with the seasons. - Naju Lake: A paradise for fishing enthusiasts, it is home to various fish species such as crucian carp, common carp, and ayu. The surrounding natural scenery is beautiful, allowing visitors to enjoy the fun of fishing while admiring the beautiful lake and mountain views. Themed Activities - Natural Dyeing Cultural Center: Naju is the home of natural dyeing culture. At the Natural Dyeing Cultural Center, a natural dyeing festival is held every year. Visitors can learn about natural dyeing and experience the fun of natural dyeing. - Naju Outdoor Filming Site: This outdoor filming location was built for the TV drama "Jumong." Here, you can see the scenes and buildings that appeared in the drama, experience the filming atmosphere, and learn about the drama's production process.
