Coldest Water Ever, the source of the Han River
#summervacay Alright, if you’re into hidden little nature gems, Geomryeongso is so worth the detour. It’s basically this magical spring at the base of a mountain in Taebaek, and the water? No joke, the coldest I’ve ever felt. Like, stick-your-hand-in-and-regret-it levels of cold. But also super refreshing, especially on a hot day.
The area around it is really peaceful, surrounded by trees and a few chill walking paths. There’s this almost mystical vibe to the spring itself, clear water bubbling out of the ground, birds chirping, cool mountain air. You don’t need to hike or anything hardcore to enjoy it, which makes it perfect if you’re just looking for a low-key nature stop.
Locals were filling up bottles, and I totally get it, the water’s super clean and crisp. Bring your own bottle if you wanna try it!
Not a big tourist crowd, no crazy activities, just a quiet, pretty spot that feels like a little nature secret. Loved it.
