Trying Sushi Hiro, Will i come back?
We visited Sushi Hiro at Diponegoro Street Bandung during Chinese New Year Holiday for the first time. We are a regulars for another big chain Japanese Restaurant in Asia and was spectical with the quality of this restaurant. This restaurant has very unique and modern Japanese architecture which gives impression of high end and expensive restaurant. We are pretty impressed with the great interiors of the restaurant and ambience which make you feel that you are in Japan.
They keep playing a piano piece Gymnopedie No 1 by Erik Satie and somehow this irritates me. Fortunately the foods are pretty good. we tried the Salmon Nabe, Salmon Roll, Croquet and Salmon Skin. At the end we return for 3 times on that week to try other menu. Overall good quality of food.

GEDUNG SATE
Gedung Sate
Gedung Sate is a neo-classical building mixed with native elements. Once the seat of the Dutch East Indies department of Transport, Public Works and Water Management, it now serves as the governor's office of the West Java province in Indonesia. Located in Bandung, it was built in 1920 after a design by Dutch architect J. Gerber.
Its common name, Gedung sate, is a nickname that translates literally from Indonesian to 'satay building', which is a reference to the shape of the building's central pinnacle - which resemble the shape of one of the Indonesian traditional dish called satay.

Bandung’s most iconic landmark
Gedung Sate, Bandung's iconic city and West Java Province number one which has a distinctive architectural style of the Dutch colonial era. The building that stands majestically facing Mount Tangkuban Perahu in the north is indeed not easily accessible by residents of the city of Bandung. Especially because this building is indeed used as a government building in West Java Province.
The landmark’s yard is spacious and you can find many parking lot and water fountains builded to make the place enjoyable. Inside this complex you can find two museums (Museum of Gedung Sate and Museum of Pos Indonesia) that can be accessed by the tourists. During the pandemic, access to Gedung Sate is strictly limited to government employees only.

The name Sate Building, locally known as Gedung Sate, is taken from the ornament on top of the building that looks like a skewer or sate in Indonesia. This building was built in 1920 with the labor of over 2,000 Indonesians and is still firmly standing up to this day. Now, it is functioned as a governmental building.
During the Dutch colonial era, Sate Building was called as Gouvernements Bedrijven . At first, it was used as the office for transportation department. When Batavia, the former name of Jakarta, was considered inappropriate anymore as the center for the Dutch governmental purpose, they used this building in replace.
