Ga'er Monastery is a monastery of the Drigung Kagyu sect. It is located on a high mountain with an altitude of more than 3,700 meters and is divided into upper and lower monasteries. The north side of the mountain is full of strange peaks, strange cliffs, and cold winds, but the south side is slightly sloping, warm and sunny. Hundreds of buildings of Ga'er Temple are irregularly distributed on this big hillside in the south of the mountain, from bottom to top to the top of the mountain. There are alpine grasslands, ancient salt drying ponds, virgin forests and forest streams near the Ga'er Temple. What is rare is that this section has a rare canyon forest landscape on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Because the monks in the monastery have always adhered to the idea of great compassion and equality of life advocated by Buddhism, the monks have been living in harmony with the animals in the mountains for many years and never killed. There are a variety of higher animals such as macaques, elk, foxes, wolves, snow leopards, and nearly 100 species of birds such as snow chickens, eagles, and vultures. Over time, the monks here became friends with the animals in the mountains. Some animals such as macaques and blue sheep also often came to the monastery and had close contact with the monks.
