Take a tour of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys and savor the thousand-year-old charm of Fuzhou
If you want to go to Fuzhou to experience the ancient flavor and historical heritage, Sanfang Qixiang is the first choice! There are many ancient houses here, and the life atmosphere and cultural customs of old Fuzhou are everywhere. Below I will share my super detailed strategy.
🚗Transportation Guide
It is very convenient to take the subway. Take Line 1 to Dongjiekou Station, then walk a few minutes from Exit D or E. If you take the bus, you can take lines 1, 2, 8, etc. and get off at "Nanjie" station or "Daoshan Road Intersection" station. If you drive yourself, there are paid parking lots nearby, but there are many people and cars on weekends and holidays, so it is best to go early, otherwise it will be troublesome to find a parking space.
🌟Check in at attractions
The Three Lanes and Seven Alleys are composed of Yijin Lane, Wenru Lane, Guanglu Lane and Yangqiao Lane, Langguan Lane, Ta Lane, Huang Lane, Anmin Lane, Gong Lane and Jipi Lane. Walking on the stone road, you can see ancient buildings in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties, with carved window lattices, gatehouses and archways, which are exquisite everywhere. You must visit places like Lin Juemin and Bing Xin’s former residences, where you can experience the lives of celebrities up close.
🍱Food Guide
When you come here, you must try the special snacks of Fuzhou. The meat dumplings at Tongli Meat Dumpling Shop have crispy skin, fresh meat and sweet soup; the fish balls at Yonghe Fish Ball Shop have chewy skin, juicy fillings and are full of freshness and fragrance when you take a bite. There is also peanut soup, which is sweet but not greasy and has a mellow taste. A bowl of it is super refreshing when you are tired from shopping.
⏰Opening hours
Sanfang Qixiang is open all day, but some small attractions and shops inside have different business hours. For example, the former residences of celebrities are generally open from 9 am to around 5 pm, so please pay attention to arrange your visit time.
❗Notes
There are many tourists on weekends and holidays. If you want to take photos and check in, it is recommended to go early when there are fewer people and the scenery is beautiful. When visiting, please take care of the ancient buildings and do not touch the exhibits inside at will.
The last time I went to Sanfang Qixiang, I wandered around from morning to night, visited every alley in detail, and tried all kinds of delicious food. It felt like I was traveling through time and space and had an intimate contact with old Fuzhou. In short, this place is definitely worth a visit, and it will allow you to experience the charm of Fuzhou in all aspects. Don’t miss it when you go to Fuzhou!
