According to legend, during the Zhiping period of the Northern Song Dynasty, Fuzhou governor Zhang Boyu called on citizens to plant banyan trees to provide shade, so Fuzhou has the reputation of "Banyan City". The tree is about a thousand years old, with a chest circumference of 9 meters and a crown projection area of about 1,300 square meters. It is distributed in an orderly manner like auspicious clouds, just like a natural giant bonsai. It is one of the top ten city cards of Fuzhou.

More than 15,000 koi are stocked in the fish watching pond centered on the "Fish Knowing Pavilion", and an artificial mist fountain is set up. In the distance, a thousand-year-old banyan tree is used as the background, and peach blossoms, pond cypress and other plants are planted. In spring, the peach blossoms are in full bloom and the pavilions are covered in fog, which is a special attraction.
