The Fuliang County Office is the only well-preserved county-level office from the feudal era in southern China, hence it is known as the 'First County Office in Southern China'. The Ancient Fuliang County Yamen sign indicates that no more visitors will be accepted after 5:30 PM, so we hurriedly head towards our destination, racing against time. A blessing in disguise! Unexpectedly, because we arrived late, we could drive into the ancient city of Fuliang! It's really a privilege to enjoy such perks even during the peak season, truly happy indeed! Driving and sightseeing along the way, although the museums and such were closed, it didn't affect our good mood. Eventually, we drove under the ancient osmanthus tree at the old county yamen, which was also closed! No worries, we peered through the cracks of the gates of the yamen, and the overall layout was the same as the other yamen we've seen before, almost identical to the ancient Kaifeng County Yamen! The overall experience was okay, not many people around, and it was pleasant to enjoy the breeze in the open space!

In the first year of the Tianbao era of the Tang Dynasty, Xinchang was renamed Fuliang, designated as a Shangyi (fifth-rank official position); inside the county yamen, there is a stele from the 33rd year of Qianlong's reign stating "Specially ordered the main hall of Fuliang to be promoted by five ranks"; the Mingjian Beitandanfang's decree states "Conferred the title of Tongzhi, awarded the right to wear the flower plume and manage the affairs of Fuliang, built by Mao Gong" — bestowing the fifth rank, making it the highest-ranked county yamen in China. The majestic Song Dynasty Red Pagoda, known as "Jiangxi's Number One Pagoda", was listed as a provincial key cultural relic protection unit in 1959. The pagoda has seven stories, with a height of 37.8 meters from the ground to the top of the complex eaves. The body of the pagoda is built with large green bricks, and each level features an overhanging platform constructed with green bricks, without any railings.
