Fukuoka City Zoo and Botanical Gardens
Located in Minami Park in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, the Fukuoka City Zoological and Botanical Gardens is a facility that raises and cultivates about 100 species of animals and about 2,600 species of plants. The zoo is especially popular with children, as it displays popular animals such as red pandas, otters, and penguins. In addition, ZooLab provides various information about animals and allows visitors to enjoy workshops and other experiences. The botanical gardens include large flower beds, a lawn plaza, a herb garden, an aquatic plant garden, a greenhouse, and various types of gardens, as well as the Botanical Life Square observation cafe, which is surrounded by plants 360 degrees. Not only can visitors have fun learning about the importance of life and how to cultivate greenery, but the gardens are also a place of relaxation for citizens, providing a place for recreation and family leisure.
