Fukuoka is truly a charming place, and this trip was simply delightful! However, the museum's merchandise was totally my style! I couldn't resist buying fridge magnets, postcards, and watercolor pens. 📍Second Stop: Japanese Garden After leaving the museum, a few steps will take you to the Japanese garden in Ohori Park. It's not crowded, but the scenery is stunning, filled with Japanese Zen vibes. The pavilions, green water, and mountains are all meticulously detailed, making it a great place to visit with elders. 📍Third Stop: KUROMON COFFEE After touring the garden, I headed straight to KUROMON Coffee, recommended by a friend, to buy drip coffee. It's about a 15-minute walk through the residential area near Ohori. Tired from walking, I relaxed with a cup of coffee here. The aroma was rich, and the beans were fresh, definitely worth trying. 📍Fourth Stop: Hakata Area - white glass coffee At white glass coffee in the Hakata area, I tasted the best tiramisu ever! The cake was fluffy, with the perfect blend of coffee and cream, and the cocoa powder on top added extra flavor. Highly recommended for dessert lovers! This trip to Fukuoka was not only filled with the charm of art and beautiful Japanese gardens but also delicious coffee and desserts. It was incredibly fulfilling, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

The red and golden leaves spreading on the city walls were intertwined, reflecting the autumn atmosphere with clear skies. Then we went to Ohori Park. The lake was as calm as a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds. We took a leisurely stroll and felt the healing power of the city's greenery. In the afternoon, we went to the Fukuoka Art Museum, where the collection of Asian art and modern works will make you linger. In the evening, head to Nakasu Yatai to enjoy Hakata ramen and experience the lively atmosphere of the night in the gentle breeze. Day 2: Quiet Mountain and Faith Journey The next morning, we drove to Hikoyama Shrine. This shrine, located on the hillside of Hikoyama, is surrounded by late autumn forests and seems like a paradise. As you climb the steps, the towering ancient trees and bright red leaves on both sides of the mountain road complement each other, making people feel awe and peace. The sun was very hot at around 8 o'clock in the morning, so walking was a bit difficult. I can't believe that we finally walked a large circle of the park. There are also Japanese gardens and Fukuoka Art Museum next to it, but please note that they are closed on Mondays. Overall, it's a good, beautiful place, very suitable for a leisurely walk.

#fukuokatrip I came initially for the Yayoi Kusuma pumpkin, and became pleasantly surprised with the old and contemparary Japanese artwork on display, particularly the woman shooting out cherry blossoms! It is a compact museum, just right for a leisurely experience. There was also a nice student art showcase (always good to support youth and the art)! For ¥200 this place wayyyy over delivers. You can do the whole thing in an hour if you are in a hurry. There's even a yayoi piece located outside that you can see for free. Many of the exhibits do not allow photos but the ones that do still have signs posted.

From across the room it lures you in, mind struggling to comprehend what it’s seeing, a black emptiness seated on the ground. No light reflects off it so its absorption of all light makes it quite unusual to look at. Don’t know why I was expecting that the longer and harder you look into the void, that something would be looking back. Sadly, but understandably, no photos were allowed for some of the cooler instalments. Also, don’t skip the civic exhibit, it was a place of many interesting works of art by the community and some students it seems. Some very talented kids share some great works of art.
