The Delicacies at the Foot of Mount Yotei: Isshin-an Soba Noodle Specialty Shop
At the foot of Mount Yotei, there is a famous water spring park with clear and sweet spring water. Next to the park is Isshin-an, a soba noodle and tempura specialty shop that offers delicious and affordable meals, making it the perfect choice for a midday hunger pang.
After strolling through the picturesque Kyogoku Famous Water Park in autumn, our group sought refuge from the snow bugs at the nearby soba noodle shop. In Japan, soba is considered a higher grade compared to ramen and udon, so it often comes with dedicated parking.
Possibly the highest-rated restaurant around the famous water park, Isshin-an was bustling with business. After a short wait, we were seated at a table for four and ordered both dry and soup soba, along with fried shrimp, fried squid, and inari sushi. The table was filled with an abundance of food.
Mixing grated radish into the sauce and dipping the noodles in it brought back the familiar taste from memory. The high ratings of Isshin-an are well-deserved! The noodles were both tender and chewy, with an excellent texture, and even the tempura was delicious. Highly recommended!
