Shocking purple and pink flower sea | Shibazakura Festival at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan
The Cherry Blossom Festival is one of my personal favorite Japanese festivals. The Shibazakura Festival at the foot of Mount Fuji in Japan is an annual flower viewing event and also the largest cherry blossom sea in Tokyo. From April 15th to May 28th, 2023, about 500,000 cherry blossoms will bloom here, and the white and pink flower sea will be set off against the majestic Mount Fuji, which is extremely beautiful. This is the largest place in Tokyo where moss and liverwort bloom in patches. In addition to the "Fukurokoke" moss garden, there are also various colorful flowers blooming. Various traditional theatrical performances and handicrafts allow you to experience the rich Japanese cultural atmosphere. During the event, in addition to enjoying the flowers, there is also a food festival on site, where you can enjoy various local delicacies. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also various other flower species on site, forming a real flower sea. Tourists participating in the event can choose light-colored clothing that matches the cherry blossoms for taking photos. When I stand in the cherry blossom sea, surrounded by pink, the endless scenery makes my mind light and my heart joyful, but also makes me intoxicated and unable to return to reality for a long time. From tender pink to fresh oak red, different cherry blossom varieties sway gently in the wind, forming a hazy and graceful watercolor, as beautiful as a painting. It complements the mountains and rivers. The cherry blossoms at the foot of Mount Fuji, set off by the blue sky and white clouds, blend with the distant mountains, and this ingenious natural scenery makes people unable to forget it for a long time.
🚄Transportation guide: It takes about 2 hours by bus or train from Tokyo to reach the Shibazakura Festival. The bus and train stations are very close to the event area, which is very convenient.

🏩Accommodation guide: Hotel prices are higher during the event, so it is recommended to book in advance. You can choose to stay at a hot spring hotel a little further away from the activity center and enjoy the fun of cherry blossoms and hot springs at the same time.
🍽Food recommendation: Many local restaurants have launched cherry blossom cuisine and drinks, worth a try. Such as cherry blossom cake, cherry blossom pasta, cherry blossom champagne, etc. Various izakayas and food alleys are also gathered here, with a wide variety of food options.
💵Admission: Admission to the Cherry Blossom Festival is free, but some park areas and viewing points require tickets, priced between 500-1000 yen. Some traditional performances also require additional ticket purchases.

⚠️Other reminders:
1. The best viewing time is from mid-April to early May, and it is necessary to pay attention to the cherry blossom blooming forecast in advance.
2. During the festival period, there will be a large flow of people. It is recommended to book transportation and accommodation at least half a month in advance.
3. The weather changes a lot, so bring rain gear and warm clothing. Also prepare a comfortable pair of walking shoes.
4. Respect local culture and follow the rules and regulations of the event site. Keep the area clean and tidy.
Overall, mid-April is the flower season in Japan, and the foot of Mount Fuji, where cherry blossoms bloom, is a must-visit place. As the largest flower viewing event in the area, the Shibazakura Festival not only offers unforgettable scenery, but also allows visitors to experience the rich traditional Japanese culture and various delicious food and drinks. If there is a chance, I also eagerly look forward to coming here in person to enjoy the seasonal beauty and joyful atmosphere.
