As North America’s biggest city, Mexico City is bursting at the seems with things to do, food to eat, and neighborhoods to explore. I spent five days in this melting pot and here’s what i recommend for a short stay in the city: 1️⃣ Explore Condesa and Roma Norte Known for being two of the safest neighborhoods in the city, both districts are havens for food lovers and photography enthusiasts. 2️⃣ Get Lost in the Historic Center Centro Histórico is a busy neighborhood in CDMX with a huge square known as the Zócalo at its center. You can really feel how old the city is in this area particularly at the Templo Mayor Museum. After a morning at the museum, wander the countless streets surrounding the cathedral or enjoy the views of the Palacio de Bellas Artes from the Finca Don Porfirio Cafe. 3️⃣ Chapultepec Castle Immerse yourself in Mexico City’s history at this extravagant castle. You can hire a guide or explore by yourself for around $5. The views from the terrace of Mexico City’s business district are incredible. 4️⃣ Tacos and Bikes One of my favorite experiences in CDMX. A knowledgeable foodie from El Taco Club will guide you around Condesa and Roma to taste some of the city’s best tacos. The tour combines food, sightseeing, and biking. I never knew there were so many different types of tacos until I took this tour! 5️⃣ Torre Latinoamérica Marvel at the sheer size of CDMX from above. The city sprawls out in all directions and the view is best enjoyed at sunset. Tickets are around 10$ and i recommend buying them there as buying them online in advance can cause problems. 6️⃣ Coyoacán A vibrant neighborhood south of downtown known for Frida Kahlo’s blue house. The queue can be quite long to get into the museum but there’s so much to do in this neighborhood. Take your camera and go on a street photography tour or enjoy some shopping at a local market. 🏨 Where to stay: La Condesa is considered one of the safest areas in CDMX and it’s very popular with tourists! There are many cafes, galleries and craft shops here, and the atmosphere is free and creative. I visited the small square near the famous Frida Kahlo Museum and sat in a cafe to enjoy the local life. Street performers played traditional music and the air was filled with an artistic atmosphere. Coyoacan's cultural diversity and historical heritage are fascinating and it is a paradise for art lovers.

I visited the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City. It's a place I've always wanted to go to. Advance reservations are required for admission, and admission is timed in 15-minute increments. Tickets can be sold out for 2-3 weeks in advance, so I recommend purchasing them early. Many people left the museum without knowing on the day. Tickets can be purchased from the official website. There is a market nearby, so I recommend arriving early and wandering around. On Sundays, admission to many museums in Mexico City is free (not including the Frida Kahlo Museum). There are many museums in Mexico City throughout the city, so you can enjoy a whole day just by visiting the museums! There are markets all over the place on weekends, so I recommend those too. The security situation is not very good, so crime prevention measures are essential ⚠️ The more you know about Mexico, the more you'll realize there are many ways to enjoy it. I did not expect to adore Mexico City as much as I did. It’s incredible. By far the greenest, leafiest city I’ve ever visited. Every single person I met was so kind. I felt very safe. The food is incredible. It’s so authentic compared to other parts of Mexico. Ubers were safe and an absolute bargain !!! The Frieda Kahlo museum is so sweet. So beautifully sort of disjointed and a bit disorganised, but this seems fitting when visiting the home of 2 such passionate artists. Book early though, because it’s small and when we went there was a sign saying it was booked up for 3 weeks in advance. Luta Livre wrestling is so funny and a bit bizarre, but glad I experienced it!! Cannot wait to return.

Beautiful museum, see where Frida grew up, her workplace, her room, her medicine, terrace, bathroom, resting place, can get a close look at their life and art. It is a place full of history and rich history of her childhood and lush gardens. Definitely worth a visit.

It has lots of items: family photos, school progress reports, newspaper articles, beds, clothes and dresses, crutches and vessels. Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was eminent Mexican artist who married Diego Rivero, a famous painter. Frida Kahlo is known for her self-portraits and her paintings of natural Mexican subjects. Besides the art, there is a wealth of personal information about the artist that is very interesting and moving as well. the gardens in the inner courtyard are lovely and a nice place to sit. The tickets are good same day at the 'Diego rivera Anahuacalli Museum. it is in the same general direction, but not walking distance. #100waysoftravel
