#myhiddengems Visiting the Metro Richmond Zoo in Virginia was an absolute treat! 🦁 Nestled just outside of Richmond, this family-owned zoo has a wonderful collection of over 2,000 animals from all over the world. The entrance fee was about $21 for adults, which felt like a fair price for the variety of experiences the zoo offers. I started my adventure by feeding the giraffes—standing eye-to-eye with these gentle giants was incredible! 🦒 Next, I explored the Safari Sky Ride, a chairlift that gives you a bird's-eye view of the zoo, letting you glide over the African Savannah and get a unique perspective of the animals. The penguin exhibit was another highlight of my visit, where I could watch these playful creatures swim and interact up close. 🐧 The zoo also has an impressive primate section with orangutans, gibbons, and cheeky lemurs that kept everyone entertained. I even had the chance to feed the barn animals in the petting area, which is a big hit with the kids! The lush, natural settings throughout the zoo made it feel like a true wildlife sanctuary. After exploring, I grabbed a snack at one of the food stands and enjoyed a peaceful moment by the pond.
