As the name suggests, this golden strip of sand stretches for roughly four miles along North Queensland’s tropical coastline.
The biscuit-coloured sands are wedged between sparkling blue waters and a tropical backdrop of palm trees, which separates the beach from the adjacent town of Port Douglas.
Unlike some of Australia’s better known beaches, such as Bondi and Surfers Paradise, this one’s not so tourist-focused, and as such there’s not a whole load of chain restaurants and shops close by. Perfect if you’re looking for an idyllic paradise spot, but not so much if you’re a fan of the crowds and the surf scene.
That said, you can still get stuck into some watersports - kite surfing’s a particular favourite in this part of Queensland, with Four Mile Beach considered to be one of the best spots for it in the state.

[Port Douglas, Australia] Four Mile Beach
#overseastraveltrip
I went to the famous Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas, Australia.
There are many free parking lots near Four Mile Beach, so it is very easy to get to by rental car.
Port Douglas is very small, so if you stay at a nearby hotel, you can have a relaxing trip without having to travel to the beach.
The beach has beautiful, smooth white sand that stretches for four miles, and there were not many people swimming, but many people walking.
It depends on the season, but I came around noon, so it was very quiet and I was able to relax.
It is also recommended to lay down a beach towel or bring a simple chair and enjoy a relaxing vacation while looking at the sea.

If you are
If you are looking for a beach with a good view and environment in Cairns, I would definitely recommend a four mile beach.
This beach is located in Port Douglas. It is called Si Li Beach, probably because the beach is just 4 miles in length.
This beach is white and long, and the sand is excellent, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. On a sunny afternoon, the locals like to come and go, or lie on the beach for a sunbathing
there are also plenty of sea projects to experience, like paragliding, jet skiing and more. Or, you can do nothing, just like the locals, lying quietly on the beach, feeling the sun and the beach, so comfortable life.
