The fort was closed when we went there but that didn’t stop us from enjoying this spectacular view. From there you can proceed through the forest. The ticket is just 1.5 euros or you can get a day card with unlimited trips for 5 euros. We climbed a steep hill to get to the Fort but at the end it was totally worth it. The Fort is rather impressive but it was closed when we were there, so we could only go around and admire the views. Built by order of Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy, between 1557 and 1560, Fort du Mont Alban is one of the most exemplary French military architectural structures dating back to the 16th century.
