Traveling solo is safe, and traveling with friends is even more fun! - This trip was 4 days and 3 nights, taken at a relaxed pace. We covered all the landmarks, ate to our heart’s content, walked until our feet hurt, and returned to the hotel with a smile, thinking, "Wow, Singapore exceeded all expectations." DAY 1: Hello Singapore! Welcome to the Lion City Our flight departed early in the morning. We woke up at 4 AM and rushed to the plane, full of excitement! After just over 2 hours, we arrived at Changi Airport. Stepping off the plane felt like entering the future. The airport here is truly impressive—clean, high-tech, fragrant everywhere, and home to Jewel Changi Airport, which features a massive indoor waterfall in the middle of a shopping mall! It’s stunning, and you can take hundreds of photos without getting bored. After exploring Jewel for a while, we took the MRT into the city using an EZ-Link card, which works like a prepaid card for trains and buses. Traveling is super easy, almost like being in Tokyo, but the system is much more beginner-friendly. Tonight, we stayed in the Bugis area, a charming neighborhood with malls, restaurants, Korean cosmetic shops, and plenty of cute cafes. You can walk around all day without getting bored. DAY 2: Landmark hopping and food galore—all in one day We woke up to a light drizzle, but nothing could dampen the spirit of a traveler! We started the day with a famous chicken rice dish at Maxwell Food Centre. Everyone talks about Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice, and we can confirm—it lives up to the hype. Tender chicken, flavorful soup, and fragrant rice—it’s perfect without needing any extra seasoning. Next, we walked to take photos with the Merlion, the iconic water-spouting lion statue. Check ahead and make sure to arrive at the airport early if you have things to do! 📍How to Get to the Famous Waterfall The waterfall is located in Jewel Changi Airport, a shopping center connected to the airport! ⚠️ If you’re taking a taxi, make sure to tell the driver you want to go to "Jewel" instead of the terminal. Once you enter Jewel, you’ll see the waterfall right away! However, note the operating hours of the waterfall. I checked online beforehand and saw it was open until midnight, so I thought I had plenty of time. But when I arrived at Jewel, the waterfall wasn’t running! It turns out the waterfall operates only until 10 PM. 😭 ⚠️ Waterfall hours: 10 AM to 10 PM! If you’re on a late-night flight and want to see the waterfall, make sure to go early! 📍Jewel The shopping mall itself is listed online as being open 24 hours, so I thought I had plenty of time. However, while the mall is open, ⚠️ most stores close at 10 PM. 😂 Most restaurants were also closed, with only McDonald’s and a supermarket still open. 🕰️ Store hours: 10 AM to 10 PM (varies by store) With most stores closed and nothing much to do, I moved to the terminal via the connecting walkway on Jewel’s third floor. 🌟 How to Spend Time After Check-In After check-in, the stores are open! Most stores operate from 🕰️ 6 AM to 1 AM. I visited Bacha Coffee to buy some souvenirs. The staff helped me choose the coffee beans I wanted and even ground them to suit my brewing method. I told them I use a filter at home, and they adjusted the grind accordingly! ⚠️ Takeout is available, but since it was late, all the croissants and other food items were sold out. 😭 If you’re planning to get takeout, drinks are fine, but food might not be available. ⚠️ After check-in, there are very few dining options, so if you’re hungry, it’s better to bring food with you beforehand! ⚠️ At Changi Airport, security checks are conducted right before boarding, so you cannot bring drinks onto the plane! Prawns hit the mark too, grilled just right with a smoky finish and a bit of crispiness from the grill. But it was the mantou (steamed buns) that really surprised us. Soft and pillowy, they were the perfect balance to the savoury cumin and salt spices sprinkled on top. The sweet-salty combo made for an unexpectedly satisfying bite, and they were a real crowd-pleaser. What really stood out was the cumin and salt seasoning. It’s a subtle yet effective touch that enhances the natural flavours of the skewers without overpowering them. The smokiness from the charcoal grill paired beautifully with the spices, and the combination of textures — from crispy to tender — made each skewer its own little delight. Of course, we couldn’t stop there. We moved on to try some other dishes, and each one brought its own set of surprises. The unagi fried rice was a perfect example of how a simple dish can be elevated. The grilled eel added a deep, savoury sweetness, and the rice had that charred wok hei — the smoky, slightly crispy goodness that you can’t help but love. It felt comforting but refined at the same time, and the eel was the kind of indulgence that made the dish stand out. To top it off, we had the frozen beer, which was a perfect match for the meal. Icy cold, smooth, and incredibly refreshing, it helped cool down the spice and added a layer of enjoyment to the whole experience.

The ambiance alone made it the perfect place to take a break, but of course, it was the food and drinks that really stood out. What really made it stand out were the agar pearls, adding a fun, chewy texture that made every sip a little more special. It was refreshing and creamy, and definitely something we'd order again. For dessert, we tried the Uji matcha cheesecake. Made with authentic Kyoto matcha, it had that rich, earthy flavor we love, but it wasn't too overwhelming. The entire Marina Bay area is surrounded by many international chain hotels, shopping malls and tourist attractions. It is also a financial and commercial area. The numerous skyscrapers and many internationally renowned companies have settled in, injecting a strong competitive energy into Singapore. There are many famous attractions in Singapore on the 3.5-kilometer-long Bayfront Trail, starting from the Merlion Park, passing the 260-meter-long Marina Bridge to the Esplanade and then to the Youth Olympic Park. Diagonally opposite the park is the Singapore Flyer, which was once the tallest wheel in the world. Walk along the Bayfront Promenade to the 280-meter-long Helix Bridge, which connects the Marina Bay Financial Center and the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. It is a pedestrian-only bridge. When you walk down the bridge, you can see the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay Sands. I don’t know how many times I have gone back and forth on the Bayfront Trail in the past few days. If you want to see all these attractions carefully, one day is definitely not enough. Marina Bay is also the best place for water activities. There are yachts, sailboats, amphibious boats, SUP and other water activities on the water in the bay. The entire Marina Bay area combines business, art, tourism and sports to create Singapore's unique local economic and cultural strength.

However, the church provides outer robes for tourists to use, and you are not allowed to enter the church wearing shorts or sleeveless tops. I have the impression that the interior floors of mosques are all covered with carpets and believers would kneel on the carpets to pray. Singapore is a multi-ethnic country where everyone has the freedom of belief. Religion has the effect of soothing people's hearts and generating the power of gathering through faith.

Soft sponge cake layered with sweet mango and creamy taro, then topped with savoury meat floss — it sounds unusual, but the combination totally works. You get the sweetness from the fruit and taro, a hint of umami from the floss, and just the right amount of cream to tie it all together. It’s creative, indulgent, and definitely one of our new favourites. Strawberry shortcake A classic done well. #AprilGoodDestinations2025 Built in 1962, Malabar Mosque is the only mosque in Singapore built by Malabar Muslims from southwestern India. The Malabar Mosque is located at the junction of Victoria Street and Sultan Street. Located at a busy intersection, the golden onion-shaped roof of the mosque is quite eye-catching. The exterior of the mosque is a sky blue hexagonal building, a color that is also commonly seen in mosques in other regions. Since I happened to pass by and saw this beautiful mosque, I stopped and took a few photos. Since the Malabar Mosque is not included in this itinerary, I can only visit it next time I come to Singapore.

Dahua Pork Kway Teow Noodles is nothing special like other noodle shops in Taiwan, but the pork kway teow noodles are loved by local people, which is why it has such a long business history. Not only locals like it, many foreign tourists also come here to taste the legendary Michelin one-star food. Some food does not necessarily need to be decorated beautifully. Instead, the simpler it is, the more approachable it is to the general public. This is what makes Dahua Pork Kway Teow Noodles attractive.

This activity does not require any flying experience, as long as you have the courage, you can try this fun and exciting flying sport. Before coming to Singapore, I bought all the tickets for this trip to Singapore online, and iFly was also on my list. I originally wanted to experience flying with my children, but in the end I gave up because my children are afraid of heights. Although this activity is very exciting, it is not dangerous. The actual flying time is not long. Before entering the wind tunnel, the staff will first explain the precautions and flying skills of wind tunnel flying. After the explanation, you will put on the flight suit and helmet and prepare to enter the wind tunnel. Professional competitions for this activity are also often held abroad, where athletes twist their bodies in the wind tunnel and perform various difficult moves to get high scores from the judges.
