A Spiritual Awakening at Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum: Kaohsiung’s Majestic Treasure
#newyearnewtrip #travelanywhere #religioustourism
Visiting the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum in Kaohsiung was nothing short of awe-inspiring. I wandered through its sprawling grounds, greeted by the 36-meter-tall Amitabha Buddha—an image so monumental it humbles your very soul. The museum itself is a masterpiece of design, blending serene temple halls with a vast collection of Buddhist art and history, all nestled within a living monastery and university.
The peaceful ambiance invites reflection, while the architecture invites exploration. My tip? Don’t miss the chance to stroll through the meditation gardens and visit the smaller temples scattered across the campus. Wear comfortable shoes, as the site is expansive, and allow time to take in the spiritual energy that fills the air. Whether you're a history buff or a seeker of tranquility, this sacred place is sure to leave an impression.

This place is enormous! If you walk around all three sections, and take it all on, you could easily spend the whole day here.
The main shrine and sutra repository were standouts, the scale of those buildings leaves you with a real sense of grandeur and humility.
The vegetarian restaurants are almost all in the Buddha museum section, where the 8 Pagodas are, and seem all reasonably priced. We started at the other end of the monastery so had eaten by the time we found these.
Definitely worth a day trip, especially if you enjoy learning about other religions or cultures

Fo Guang Shan, a tranquil place that cleanses the soul
#100 Ways to Travel
It’s been sixteen years since I visited Fo Guang Shan again
The memorial hall from 16 years ago has not yet been built.
Master Hsing Yun is still sitting in the mountains
Although things and people have changed
But when I visit again, I feel grateful and in awe
There are different temples in the museum dedicated to various Buddhas. Each temple has volunteers to help introduce and help with the business.
There are also different art exhibition halls that display Buddhist artworks, the history of the spread of Buddhism to the East, etc.
In addition, there is a vegetarian restaurant "One Drop" in the hotel. I like their pork rice. The rice grains are very plump and the olives go very well with the rice.
The mountain has also started to renovate the accommodation. If you have time, you can stop and appreciate the "Buddha"

Taiwan trip What’s special about Fo Guang Shan
The highlight of this trip is Fo Guang Shan.
Although I am not a religious believer, I have always believed that religion is actually the earliest and most profound experimental position of psychology. How to make religion better accept its own believers as the times develop is a very interesting topic.
And this Buddhist pure land far away from the busy city seems to be making a good display.
Because it not only has stunning architecture and grand scale in the traditional sense, but also embodies the core message of "getting close to people" - using technology to increase interaction and using interaction to promote Buddhism.
In the view of the founder, Master Hsing Yun, Buddhism should not always be righteous and aloof like in the past, but should go to the world, be kind to others, and be happy with others.
So in Fo Guang Shan, you can see Starbucks as soon as you enter. The Buddhist songs played are also full of contemporary feeling. Even the little monk dolls are cute. This is repackaging an ancient religion with the idea of building a theme park, and it can also be done. To be pure and peaceful, not noisy or noisy, it is worth learning.

Fo Guang Shan Temple
Very spacious. No entrance ticket required. I took a light train to Jiuqutang Station and changed to a bus to get there. Had to walk through 4 huge towers to get to the main temple. There's a mall inside the area and they sell a lot of souvenirs there, also some cafés, a restaurant serving vegetarian buffet, which is not so common for a religious place, they obviously made it a tourist attraction. #travel #temple

Breathtaking with one of the largest Buddhist
Fo Guang Shan is an international Chinese Buddhist monastic order based in Dashu district, Kaohsiung.
The cultural attraction's expanse of more than 100 hectares steals your breath at first glance.
Not only is the Buddha museum striking from the outside, but the interior is as captivating due to the exquisite and magnificient decorating. The paths inside the museum campus are quiet and shaded by tall trees.
