Victoria, Canada.
When I arrived in Victoria, I learned that it is the capital of British Columbia. It is located on an inland island larger than Taiwan, which can only be reached by a giant ferry. The scenery along the way is beautiful. This garden-like city is known as the Provence of Canada. It is also a political center, with its Parliament Building and Royal Hotel. The area is so large that it is intimidating, and you can switch between urban and rural life at will.
🚗 Victoria City Hall: Built in 1891, it was designed by the famous architect Herman Otto Tiedemann Lange in the Neo-Gothic architectural style. This magnificent building is not only the seat of the BC provincial government but also one of the most iconic attractions in Victoria. Highly recommended!
🚗 Empress Hotel: You can experience imperial history in one of the hotel's rooms or suites and enjoy panoramic views of Victoria's Inner Harbor. With its long history and iconic architecture, its unique green dome and gorgeous interior decoration showcase the luxury and sophistication of the time. In addition to being a hotel, the Empress Hotel is also an important landmark in downtown Victoria.
🚗 Chinese Canadian Museum in Victoria
The Chinese Canadian Museum in Victoria
The museum is small, less than 200 square meters, slightly larger than a shop, but worth a visit. The museum exhibits the experiences of the first generation of Chinese immigrants in Canada, from gold mining to building the Pacific Railway, to the head tax on Chinese people, the Chinese Exclusion Act, and the Canadian government's apology. Victoria's Chinatown is the first Chinatown in Canada.
🚗 Harbor and Fisherman's Wharf
Enjoy the scenery of Victoria's harbor and various historical buildings. Located on the seaside in the city center, you can walk along the seaside boardwalk in the city center for a day trip. The wharf is divided into a fishing boat area, a restaurant area, and a houseboat area.
🚗 Craigdarroch Castle: Built in the late 19th century, it is a luxurious Victorian mansion that showcases the lifestyle and culture of the time.
🚗 Hatley Castle: A magnificent castle building that combines Gothic and Jacobean styles, with a solemn and gorgeous appearance and a majestic atmosphere. Its design is inspired by European castles and English country estates, showcasing the luxury and opulence of the Victorian era.
🚗 Victoria Cathedral
It is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, but it is interspersed with traces of Arab mosques everywhere. It is a product of religious art with both Islamic and Christian styles, reflecting the historical changes of religion as a tool of rule.
🚗 St. Andrew's Cathedral
St. Andrew's Cathedral is a historic Roman Catholic church in Victoria. Built in 1892, the church was designed by architect John Teague in the Gothic Revival style.

A complete guide to a day trip to Victoria from Vancouver! You can do it all in one day!
🎉 Want to take a spontaneous trip? If you're in Vancouver, you don't have to go far—Victoria is right there! Even if you only have one day, you can still experience the charm of this beautiful little city. If you prefer a slower pace, you can stay overnight on the island and enjoy a more leisurely trip. Check out my super-packed day trip guide!
🌅 In the morning, head to Tsawwassen and take the 9 am BC Ferries to Victoria. Remember to arrive half an hour early so you don't miss the boat like we almost did. It's also a good idea to book your tickets online in advance. We paid $216 for two people and a car round trip, which was convenient and stress-free.
🚢 On the boat, don't just sit around—head to the bow on the top deck and you'll find a whole new world. The sea breeze, the sunshine, and the distant scenery are all so beautiful, you won't want to miss taking a photo. The cover photo was taken here—it's stunning, right?
🌸 After disembarking, head straight to Butchart Gardens. This garden is known as one of the most beautiful in the world, with a new view at every turn. The birds and flowers make it feel like a fairy tale. There are several areas to explore, and I recommend following the map to see all the surprises.
🌄 Next, head to Malahat Skywalk. Climb the path to the top and take in the breathtaking view below. In that moment, all your fatigue will disappear. Don't forget to try the slide—it's thrilling and fun!
🏰 Hatley Castle is another must-see. This historic castle is full of charm, and you can take photos outside. If you have time, you can take a tour before 4 pm to learn more about the castle's story.
🌅 In the evening, head to the downtown waterfront. Take a stroll along the water and watch the sunset over the sea. For dinner, I recommend Red Fish Blue Fish for authentic fish and chips. The cod is especially delicious! The tacones and cod dog are also great. The average cost is about $20 per person, which is a great value!
🏛️ Finally, don't forget to visit the Legislative Assembly. This landmark is a symbol of Victoria, and you won't want to miss taking a photo!
🌊 If you have time, you can also visit Glass Beach. The beach is covered in colorful stones that look like glass, which is amazing.
🌃 At 9 pm, take the return BC Ferries to Vancouver. If you plan to stay overnight, you can explore more of Victoria the next day, like the museums, Miniature World, Fisherman's Wharf, and Chinatown!
🌟 That's my guide to a day trip to Victoria! I hope it helps! Follow me for more tips on eating, drinking, and having fun in Vancouver! 🎉

[Discover Vancouver: The Hidden Charms of Victoria]
🚢 As the first rays of sunlight hit the sea, we embarked on our journey to Victoria. With an 8 am ferry ticket, we could greet the new day at sea. But don't forget, if you want to enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the ferry, be sure to line up early, as the queue is always long.
🌸[Butchart Gardens: A Sea of Flowers]🌸 As soon as we set foot on Victoria, we headed straight to Butchart Gardens. The flowers here are in full bloom, as if we were walking into a vivid painting. For travelers who love gardening, this is undoubtedly paradise. You can pick your favorite seeds here and plant a piece of spring at home. But for those of us who are used to the beautiful scenery of Hangzhou, Butchart Gardens, though beautiful, lack a bit of novelty.
🏰[Hatley Castle: Whispers of History]
🏰 Hatley Castle, a small and exquisite castle, but for those of us who have traveled to European castles, it seems a bit insignificant. Our time here seemed to be a small regret.
🏛️[BC Parliament Buildings: The Hall of Power]
🏮[Chinatown: A Taste of Home in a Foreign Land]
🏮 Chinatown, a place full of the taste of home. We tasted the rice noodles at Little Yunnan here, and although the taste was average, the "Lai Sing BBQ" that my husband found in the museum surprised us. A roast duck, delicious, and the enthusiasm of the owner is unforgettable.
🐟[Fisherman's Wharf: A Feast in the Sea Breeze]
🐟 Fisherman's Wharf is undoubtedly the highlight of our trip. Fried fish and chips, the sea breeze blowing gently, and the cheerful melody of the Mexican restaurant band in our ears, everything was so perfect. We didn't get to experience the sea bus, but next time, I will definitely stay here longer, enjoy a glass of wine, and feel the tranquility of the harbor.
🌅[Return Journey: The Gift of Sunset]
🌅 With an 8 pm ferry, we arrived at the pier early, but were unexpectedly allowed to board the 7 pm ferry. On the ferry, we witnessed the magnificence of the sunset, which was the perfect end to the day.🍽️[Food Recommendations]🍽️ In Victoria, besides the roast duck at "Lai Sing BBQ," there are many hidden delicacies waiting for you to discover. For example, the local seafood, fresh oysters, and salmon are all must-try delicacies.
🏨[Accommodation Tips]🏨 When choosing accommodation, consider hotels near the pier, so you can easily enjoy the beautiful harbor view whether you are departing or returning.
📌[Travel Tips]📌
• Buy ferry tickets and attraction tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line.
• Tickets for the Parliament Buildings are very popular, so remember to book in advance.
• The sea bus at Fisherman's Wharf is a great way to experience the local culture, so don't miss it. Victoria, a charming city, has its unique story everywhere. Here, you can slow down, feel the sea breeze, and enjoy the tranquility of life. Consider this place for your next trip, and you'll find that every exploration is a new surprise. 🌊🌅🍹
