First Visit to Persia—Fin Garden
This is also one of the must-visit attractions in Kashan, and it is the best-preserved garden of its kind in Iran.
Designed over 1200 years ago by the great Abbas king, the garden is lush with verdant trees, and the sound of running water is a testament to the quintessential Persian garden.
The area surrounding the garden is notably scarce in water resources, yet the garden itself is abundantly rich in water.
In 2010, it was inscribed on the World Heritage List.

Kashan, Iran | Check in at the Fin Garden, beloved by Persian monarchs
✈️ After landing in Tehran, without any rest, I took a 2.5-hour bus ride directly to Kashan.
🚩 Kashan is known as an oasis in the desert, famous for its roses. The most renowned attraction here is the Fin Garden, which is considered a paradise in the eyes of Iranians.
In fact, the word 'paradise' originates from Persian, where they believe that a place with water and gardens, secluded from the mundane world, is paradise.
🏡 Fin Garden, pronounced Bagh-e Fin in Persian, is named after a village called Fin nearby. It is a historic Persian garden.
🎙 It is said that it might have existed before the Safavid dynasty, but the current buildings were completed in 1590 under the rule of Abbas I. Later monarchs, such as Fath-Ali Shah Qajar, expanded it. It is the oldest surviving traditional Persian garden in Iran and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012.
⛲️ The garden features various pools and fountains, with water sourced from the nearby Suleimanieh mountain spring. Its unique irrigation system allows the mountain spring water to flow into the pools and irrigate the plants without any pressure tools.
🏰 The garden's architecture includes the main entrance, walls, bathhouses, the private residence of Emperor Abbas, museums, etc.
It is a must-visit spot for tourists in Kashan. It is recommended to use a wide-angle lens to better capture the beauty of Persian architecture.
🦹♀️ Iranian children are very enthusiastic and not shy. When they see Chinese people, they come up to take photos with you. A dozen kids took turns, and I almost missed the departing bus.
🌟 There are also two ancient mansions in Kashan, which belonged to local merchants. They look ordinary from the outside, but once you step into the courtyard, it's a whole different world, definitely worth a visit.
💰 The entrance fee for Fin Garden is 2 US dollars for foreigners. It's very cheap for Iranians.
Chinese tour guides charge 100-200 US dollars/day during the peak season, and 30-100 dollars/day during the off-season.
English tour guides charge 60-100 dollars/day during the peak season, and 30-60 dollars/day during the off-season. Package deals are even cheaper.

The Persian style garden favored by the Iranians
2011 UNESCO has added nine Persian gardens in Iran to the World Cultural Heritage List as an excellent example of the existing Persian gardens. Traditionally, these gardens It symbolizes heaven and is divided into four parts, which symbolize the four elements of Zoroastrianism: heaven, earth, water and plants. The Fain Garden in Kashan is one of the most popular.
Fern Garden was built in 1590 during the Safi dynasty. It has been 500 years old and is the oldest still-preserved garden in Iran. Covering an area of 2.3 hectares, the garden has a large courtyard surrounded by round towers and is known for its natural fountains, as well as the palace buildings built during the Safavid era and the dynasty. There is a ferry bath in the garden, which is planted with a variety of fruit trees, such as apple trees, cherry trees, plum trees, etc. In addition, there are colorful flowers such as lilies, wild roses, roses, jasmine, violets, daffodils and tulips. .
Lush trees, green meadows, blue baths, historic buildings and high walls make the Fain Garden one of the most sought-after gardens in Iran. In my opinion, this is also the most beautiful of the nine Iranian gardens selected for World Heritage.
Tour TIPS:
1, Fain Garden is located 10 kilometers outside Kashan, taxi about 10-15 million rials;
2, tickets: 200,000 riyals
