Phoenix Source, also known as Huangshan East Sea Grand Canyon and Xianggu Source, is a large canyon between Xiandu Peak and Bushui Peak in Huangshan East Sea, with a depth of more than 10 kilometers. It is said that this is the place where Emperor Huangdi's beloved wife Leizu raised phoenixes, and it is the hometown of phoenixes. There is also a strange stone on Xiandu Peak, which looks like a phoenix, with its head raised and about to fly, as if it is about to leave the source, so it is named Phoenix Source. The original ecological landscape is still preserved in Fenghuangyuan, with colorful mountain flowers, outstanding peaks, strange rocks, flowing green water, dense forests and full of wildness. Fenghuangyuan is very unique among the many canyons in Huangshan, with a blend of scene and scenery and infinite charm. People today have poems praising it: The phoenix dances in the sky and sings in the four seas; meet in Lover's Valley and return to Fenghuangyuan. There is a pass at the entrance of Fenghuangyuan Valley, called Wuni Pass, which was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of 400 years. It was an important pass to enter Huizhou and Huangshan in ancient times, and it was also a battleground for military strategists. According to the "Annals of She County", in history, there was a touching story of the Southern Song Dynasty chivalrous woman Xianggu and her husband assisting Yue Fei in fighting against the Jin Dynasty; in modern times, there was a heroic scene where the martyr Fang Zhimin led the Red Army's anti-Japanese advance team to the north to fight against the reactionaries. Cross the Phoenix Bridge from National Highway 205 and you will enter the Phoenix Source. The Phoenix Bridge is an ancient stone bridge that has been widened for the convenience of tourists, but the "Phoenix Tree" beside the bridge is enough to prove its existence. Standing on the Phoenix Bridge and looking up, you can see a stone phoenix lying on the green mountain in front of the opposite Bushui Peak, like a phoenix looking at the Mudan Peak.
