Fashi Zhenwu Temple is located in Stone Street, Donghai Town, in the urban area. It was built in the Song Dynasty. The temple was dedicated to Xuanwu, the god of water. In the Song Dynasty, it was used as a "place for the county watchman to worship the god of the sea". It is an important historical site of Quanzhou's overseas traffic and a cultural relic protection unit in Fujian Province. The temple is dedicated to Xuantian God, who is the incarnation of the North Pole Xuanwu Xingjun, also known as Zhenwu Emperor. The Zhenwu Temple here was built in the Song Dynasty and has a history of more than a thousand years. It is known as the first palace of the Xuantian God in Bamin. It is called "Little Wudang" and has important significance in the history of Taoism in Fujian. Fashi Zhenwu Temple is facing the sea and mountains, with the world-famous ancient Citong Port-Houzhu Harbor in the east, only a few miles away from Quanzhou City in the west, and across the river from Jinjiang City in the south. Numerous sea temples, unparalleled elsewhere, are a convincing historical testimony to the eastern end of the Quanzhou Maritime Silk Road.
