Ipso Hotel Hsinchu - Pillars Hotel
First time in Hsinchu, first time staying in this hotel.
I don't understand why there is this pillar in every room? It really takes up a lot of space.
Was this building unstable when it was built, so it needed these pillars to support it? But its predecessor was Indigo, where a friend lived, and it had no pillars. The pillars are not shown in the photos on the official website.
When I passed by other rooms that were being cleaned this morning, I saw that they also had the same problem, so it wasn't just my room that had it.
The soundproofing is not good. No matter how carefully you walk on the floor in the room, it will always make banging sounds. It was even scarier at night. I don’t know if it was because the glass windows expanded when heated and contracted when cooled, but the entire night until dawn, the window glass would make ping-pong noises, and every time I thought the glass was going to break. I couldn't sleep well at night.
The mattress was OK, the pillows were super firm and high, the chair was comfortable, the blanket was soft, the AC was strong, the fridge was empty, and the view was nice.
But the bathroom shower head is outrageous, it is a fixed frame from my grandma's time and can't be moved. The tub rails were also starting to rust. The only good thing is the Korean brand hair dryer, which is very effective and not inferior to the Daisen.
You need to operate the machine yourself when checking in and out, but the hotel knows that guests are not experienced and will still help you operate it. Waste of manpower and time.
The executive lounge, which is available to all guests, only offers a few simple snacks, biscuits and drinks, no hot food, and guests have to clean up their own cups and plates.
There is also a big problem: no one wants to deliver food for Uber Eats. I ordered the food at 4:30 in the afternoon. After five deliverymen, it was finally delivered at around 7 o'clock.
It would only detract points if Hyatt bought it. No wonder IHG wants to sell it. The building is inherently defective. But the summer room rate in August, excluding breakfast, is only 7,000 yuan for a two-night stay. At this price after the epidemic, it is quite good. If you are interested, you can come and stay here and try it out. For me, it’s a store. #Try the feeling of the main beam in the room
