La Parisienne Bakery in Paris
We discovered the La Parisienne bakery and patisserie by chance. What caught our attention was a line of locals we saw one morning on Saint-Dominique Street.
In just four days, we managed to visit La Parisienne three times. The bakery in the 7th arrondissement was conveniently on our way to the Eiffel Tower, while the branch in the 6th arrondissement is located near the Luxembourg Gardens.
What did we try at La Parisienne?
🔸 French Baguette (Baguette)
Price: from €1.1
Rating: 11/10
In 2022, the baguette was added to UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
A long, thin loaf with a crispy crust and airy, porous crumb.
The baguette is made from just four ingredients: flour, water, salt, and starter (or yeast). It’s so delicious that it can be eaten on its own. Pure magic.
I recommend trying their signature La Parisienne baguette (€1.3). They also offer a "Cereales" baguette with grains (€1.6) and a "Belle Arome" baguette with buckwheat flour (€1.6).
In May 2025, La Parisienne bakery won first place in the "Best Baguette in Paris 2025" competition among 187 contestants. Along with the prestigious title, the team became the official supplier to the Élysée Palace for a year.
🔸 Quiche
Price: €4.5
Rating: 9/10
An open pie originating from the Lorraine region. It has a base made of shortcrust or puff pastry, a filling of eggs and cream, and a choice of toppings: the traditional "Lorraine" with bacon, "Fromages" with cheese, "Saumon épinard" with salmon and spinach, or "Poireaux chèvre" with leek and goat cheese. A quiche with a side of green salad makes for a great lunch option.
🔸 Croque Monsieur
Price: €5
Rating: 10/10
A French hot sandwich with ham and cheese. When topped with an egg, it’s called a Croque Madame. At La Parisienne, the sandwich is so large that it’s perfect for sharing.
🔸 Mille-feuille
Price: €4.6
Rating: 11/10
A dessert whose name translates from French as "a thousand layers."
My absolute favorite. Thin, caramelized puff pastry layers combined with vanilla cream. Ideal for fans of Napoleon cake, but Mille-feuille has thinner, crispier layers.
🔸 Choux Pastry (Choux)
Price: €2.5
Rating: 9/10
A pastry made from choux dough with a caramelized crust and cream filling. Flavors include vanilla, chocolate, pistachio, berries, and more.
🔸 Raspberry Tartlet (Tartelette aux framboises)
Price: €5.5
Rating: 6/10
A shortcrust pastry base, creamy filling, and fresh raspberries. Looks better than it tastes. The pastry was too sweet for me, and there wasn’t enough cream.
🔸 Croissant
Price: €1.3
Rating: 9/10
One of France’s unofficial symbols.
The perfect choice is a classic croissant paired with fig or apricot jam.
