[2025 Giza Stay] Travel Guide for Egypt (Updated Feb)

I want to stay right in front of the pyramids! After checking Google Maps, I stayed at The Gate Hotel Pyramids. It is in a great location right in front of the pyramids ticket center, with the pyramids and Sphinx visible from the terrace. (They don't sell alcohol, but you can buy it separately and bring it with you) After checking, it's time to head to the pyramids! I managed to get in line at the ticket center while many people calling themselves official guides were approaching me, but I was cut in line and experienced the sophistication of Egypt. . I walked around the three great pyramids and the Sphinx. You can go inside the Pyramid of Khufu (additional charge). Inside the pyramid was about 10 times more painful than I imagined, but it was definitely worth seeing. I booked a Luxor-Aswan Nile cruise with a flight from Cairo on Get your guide, but the day before I got a message saying that they couldn't find my flight ticket... I panicked a little. I pulled myself together and booked a Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor on Viator. I had to get to Aswan the next morning somehow! So I hurriedly went to Ramses Station to buy a ticket for the Nile Express and booked a flight from Luxor to Cairo. I checked out of the hotel in Giza around 8pm and took an Uber to Giza Station. A tourist policeman with a pistol guided me to the train, and I got on safely. The room attendant was very kind and came whenever I wanted with just the touch of a button. Dinner and breakfast were included, both of which were delicious, and the bunk bed in the private room was comfortable! The bed and toilet were cleaner and more comfortable than I had expected. Although I was worried about the sudden schedule change, everything was OK because I was able to board the Nile Express. I took advantage of the crisis. While it's important to appreciate their assistance, it's also wise to set boundaries and politely decline if you're not comfortable giving a tip. Navigating the area around the Pyramid of Giza, I encountered friendly vendors selling souvenirs and local crafts. Engaging with them allowed me to get a glimpse into their rich culture and heritage. Bargaining is a common practice in Egypt, so don't hesitate to negotiate the prices while shopping for souvenirs. It's all part of the experience and can lead to enjoyable interactions with the locals. Exploring the pyramid complex, I marveled at the intricate details and the engineering marvels of ancient Egypt. The Great Sphinx, standing tall and enigmatic, added to the aura of mystery that surrounded the site. I took my time, absorbing the historical significance of the place and imagining the lives of the people who had built these incredible structures thousands of years ago. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the pyramid, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for being able to witness this wonder of the world up close. it has long been a dream for me to see one of the ancient countries in the world - Egypt! now I was able to behold the beauty of the great Pyramids of Giza and other places around Egypt. I also enjoyed the food. and yes, Uber was cheap.

Highly equipped and elegant rooms. The rooms were very clean, and the staff was most helpful, responsive and polite. The biggest commercial area in Cairo.
