📍Atmosphere/Facilities: The world's largest outdoor gallery, with the remnants of the old Berlin Wall, and artists gathered to paint peaceful paintings to hopefully express their painful memories
📍Key Points: While looking at the paintings, you can see the earnestness of the German people who suffered from the pain of division and their desire for peace, and the famous painting of the 'Brother's Kiss', which contains the passionate kiss of two brothers who wanted to meet so badly between East and West Germany
📍Average price per person: No admission fee
The East Side Gallery is the world's largest outdoor gallery located in Berlin, and it is a place where peace and freedom are painted on the remnants of the old Berlin Wall. It is a place where symbolic paintings are drawn and efforts are made to change heartbreaking history into hope.
As you walk through the 1.3km-long outdoor gallery and look at each piece, you can get a glimpse of their earnest desire for unification and freedom, and in particular, the 'Brother's Kiss', which depicts the meeting of brothers who were divided between East and West Germany and wanted to meet so badly, is very famous.
It would be good to take a picture in front of the Brother's Kiss, which can be called the symbol of the East Side Gallery, but since there are so many people, you should take it quickly and leave so that you can leisurely look around.
Also, the 'Mercedes-Benz Arena' is located nearby, so it would be good to visit it together, and there is also a Five Guys Burger right in front of the stadium, so you can enjoy a delicious meal after viewing the gallery and the stadium.
If you go to Berlin, a place that remembers the pain of division as a symbol of peace and freedom, I recommend you visit the East Side Gallery :)

Iconic Berlin-Must-see Urban Art
East Side Gallery is the iconic stretch of the old Berlin Wall now decorated with various urban artworks. Despite being a bit of a tourist trap it’s still a must see attraction when visiting Berlin. Surrounding areas can appear a bit seedy but don’t be put off. The riverside walk on the other side of the wall is an added bonus. During summer It can get quite crowded in early evenings as couples and families gather on the banks of the river to enjoy the sunset over the river with the Oberbaumbücke bridge as a backdrop, which itself is quite impressive. Definitely worth a visit with opportunities for ‘insta worthy’ pics all along the wall. #awesomepic #urbanexplorer

Remnants of the Berlin Wall, [East Side Gallery]
The 'East Side Gallery' located in Berlin
is the world's largest open-air gallery, measuring 1316m in length.
After the unification of East and West Germany, 118 artists from 21 countries drew 105 paintings on the wall with messages of peace, harmony, and opposition to war to commemorate the fall of the wall. They turned the wall that divided the country into a symbol of hope and freedom!
Since our Korea is also a divided country,
I was able to appreciate the works with a deeper empathy
And that such a thin wall was dividing the country.
Can you believe it?

Exploring Street Art of Berlin Wall
Nestled along the banks of the Spree River, the East Side Gallery stands as a vibrant testament to the power of art, resilience, and the triumph of the human spirit over the Berlin Wall's once-imposing divide. Stretching for over a kilometer, this open-air gallery invites visitors to embark on a visual journey through history, using the remnants of the Berlin Wall as a canvas for artistic expression and commemoration.
East Side Gallery stands as the longest remaining stretch of the Berlin Wall, adorned with over 100 murals that tell stories of liberation, peace, and the human desire for freedom. Each mural reflects the artists' unique perspectives on the political changes of the time, the joyous reunification of East and West Germany, and the shared dream of a world free from division.
Walking along the East Side Gallery is a poignant and immersive experience. The murals, each with its unique message, evoke a range of emotions—from the celebration of newfound freedom to the reflection on the consequences of division. Visitors can touch the textured concrete, read the artists' statements, and witness the interplay of art and history.

very easy to walk there.
Ambiance/highlights - most iconic Berlin Wall mural, you can walk from one end to the other side of the wall, that is about fifteen to twenty minutes. it was painted in 1990 after the fall of Berlin Wall in 1988. it used to divide Berlin between west and east Berlin stopping people from the same country from crossing. how crazy this is! luckily it was taken down. each mural is different, super talented people here!

East Side Gallery
The Stasi museum is in East Berlin and on the way to the museum, we stopped at the East Side Gallery. There you can see the conserved graffiti project by 118 artists covering part of the Berlin Wall and celebrating its demise.
Berlin Presidential Palace (Bellevue Palace)
Some other places you can visit in Berlin include Berlin Presidential Palace (Bellevue Palace) which has been the official residence of the President of Germany since 1994. You can also see the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, a famous landmark of western Berlin which was badly damaged in a bombing raid. This has been nicknamed by Berliners “der hohle Zahn”, meaning “the hollow tooth”.

This is a definite MUST SEE if youj go to Berlin. It's a long stretch of the old dividing wall between East Germany and West Berlin. After the wall "fell" they had artists paint this section. Some of the art is famous and other not as much but it is all interesting and makes you think. #wintergetaway

FISHFISH.
Graffiti can often be seen in European train stations or in the old town, or the color is strong or the content is grotesque. Some beautiful graffiti works will also take photos with the camera. After a few years in Europe, I found that Berlin can be well-deserved as the city of graffiti in Europe!
I am probably the most famous graffiti in Berlin. It is probably the Berlin Wall. Today, the Berlin Wall is actually a long graffiti wall. Many graffiti works on it have long been known as masterpieces of graffiti, and their significance is far-reaching. It is obvious to all.
