Forever moved by the landscapes of Guangxi!!! On a spontaneous trip, I came to Chongzuo, this small border city. After arriving by high-speed train, I was immediately amazed by the city. It boasts ink-painting-like countryside, mountains all around, cascading waterfalls and springs, and the cost of living is very low. This city fulfills all the fantasies of 'choosing a city to grow old in.' In such beautiful landscapes, time seems to stop flowing, and there is nothing that the landscapes of Chongzuo can't cure; if once isn't enough, then come twice! Next, follow my route and start your Chongzuo journey! 🛻 Chongzuo 3 Days 2 Nights Self-Drive Tour Itinerary Day 1: Rent a car from Chongzuo South Station and head to Detian Transnational Waterfall Group, then go to Mingshi Countryside (watch the sunset here, accommodation prices are about 200-300 yuan). Day 2: First visit Mingshi Countryside, then go to Gulong Canyon, Sandiequan Waterfall, Tongling Grand Canyon, Aibu Waterfall, and finally arrive at E'quan (watch the sunset here, accommodation prices are about 100-200 yuan). China and Vietnam share a long border, however the most spectacular part of this must be the Detian Waterfalls in China's Guangxi Province. Around a 3 hours drive eastwards of Nanning, or alternatively south from Baise, it is reached by private car or public bus. To drive here, you can rent a car and drive yourself as the roads are in good condition and not difficult to navigate, or you can hire a driver. For the bus, you can depart from Nanning bus station, although this option is slower. Remember to bring ID or passports for buying tickets and for the frontier border check-even though you're not leaving a country, all vehicles are still inspected. When you arrive, you board the sightseeing bus up the mountain, straddling the river that seperates the two countries, finally arriving at the top and the waterfall scenic area. You walk in a circular direction around the waterfall from the east side, offering spectacular close-up views of the whole valley. There are many observation points for photos or videos here. There are places to buy souvenirs and also vietnamese snacks. Be sure to try the cliff walk, glass bridge and the slide down the mountain for 59¥! Best time to visit here has to be mid-afternoon, so that you get both daytime and the evening sunset over the mountains range and waterfalls. Located around 2 hours drive south of Baise, China's Guangxi province, you will come to one of the most stunning places to visit in a China itself. This is the mountains that run along the China-Vietnam border region and there you will find Goose Spring, hidden away in it's secluded and picturesque wonderland. Only accessible by private car...once you arrive, a short boat ride up to small river is a good way to begin the visit. This is the opportunity to see the local people and take in the unbelievable scenery that now surrounds you on all sides. Yesterday on our way to Baise, Jingxi from Nanning, at half way, we stopped by the “Goose Spring”. 🦆 This place is highly recommended ✅, is a beautiful valley within the mountains ⛰️ that is combined with the green 🌳of the nature and yellow of the rice fields 🌾together with a gorgeous pound 💧, making this a very peaceful ☮️ and relaxing 🧘‍♀️🧘 spot 🏞️ To get there probably the best is to rent a car 🚗 or hired a driver, but we also saw some local buses 🚌 , that could bring you there from Nanning city. A niche tourist destination for National Day - Chongzuo.

Every year during the National Day Golden Week, all tourist attractions are packed with visitors, especially famous ones. I hate crowds. To avoid them, I searched online for a long time and finally found a niche destination - Chongzuo. Although not as famous as Guilin, Chongzuo's scenery is just as beautiful. Chongzuo is located in southwestern Guangxi, bordering the provincial capital Nanning and Vietnam. Due to time constraints, I only chose a few attractions, including Anping Xianhe, Mingshi Tianyuan, Detian Transnational Waterfall, Jingxi Goose Spring, and Gulongshan Grand Canyon. Among these attractions, the most famous is the Detian Transnational Waterfall. It also attracts the most visitors, so be sure to arrive early! We arrived at the visitor center hall around 7:00 am, and there were already 200-300 people in line. The scenic area officially opens around 8:00 am. After entering, remember to queue on the left to exchange for paper tickets. Do not queue on the right! Although the Anping Xianhe Scenic Area is not as well-developed, there are very few tourists. It is very cost-effective to find a local to charter a boat for only 200 yuan. The boat travels through the river, with beautiful scenery on both sides. The entire journey takes about 40 minutes, which is very pleasant. I think Goose Spring is just average. If you don't go to Jingxi, there's no need to go there. The waterfalls in Gulongshan Grand Canyon are not bad, and there is Tongling Waterfall next to them. If you have time, you can visit both. In general, Chongzuo does not have many tourists. But this time, on my second visit to Guangxi, I specifically picked some niche spots, such as Goose Spring in Jingxi. 🧭Attraction Guide: Goose Spring is absolutely stunning! The mountains and water there complement each other perfectly, making it particularly eye-catching. Driving to Goose Spring is the most convenient; just navigate to the Goose Spring Scenic Area. You can park at the entrance of a guesthouse. As for the entrance fee, I didn't pay; I heard it's a few dozen yuan. The guesthouse owner told me to use the back door, and you don't need to buy a ticket in the early morning or after 7 PM. I caught the sunset when I went, which felt super worth it, and there were very few people. 🏨Hotel Guide: I strongly recommend staying within the scenic area. The prices are not expensive, though during peak season, rooms might be unavailable and prices might go up. The guesthouse I stayed at was fantastic, with an ancient bridge where farmers lead their cattle right outside the window. It's just a few hundred meters to the back door, and parking is convenient. If you want to know the name, you can ask me. 👍Route Guide: I went in September, and it felt like a great time to visit; the scenery was breathtaking. Driving from the city was quite convenient, though the streetlights at night were not very good. My husband wasn't feeling well that day, so we couldn't get up early to enter the scenic area the next day, which was a bit of a pity. But we saw the sunset, so it was worth it! ✨Other Tips: Avoid going on weekends; there are more people and higher room rates, and the scenic area isn't very large. Goose Spring, it's so beautiful

Jingxi Goose Spring is an ascending spring in a peak forest valley. The spring mouth belongs to a karst cave and is a large underground dark river outlet. The main stream of the dark river is 21 kilometers long, and the spring water flows eastward to become the Goose Spring River. These photos are straight out of the camera with no filters. Just tell me, isn't it beautiful? It's very cost-effective to take a bamboo raft here, only 10 yuan per person, cheaper than Guilin! A small regret is that we originally planned to take a hot air balloon ride here, but due to the weather, it couldn't take off. Well, let's leave some regrets and come back next time!

The beauty of Jingxi Goose Spring really depends on the time!

Goose Spring is very close to Jingxi, and we set off from Sandie Ridge: Sandie Ridge - Goose Spring - Hena Highway Roundabout - Quyang Lake - Longkala - Nanning loop. Goose Spring is just at the entrance of the scenic area, where you park and then fly a drone in to take pictures. The daytime scenery of Goose Spring is indeed quite ordinary, and it only really looks good in the early morning or at dusk. It is recommended to visit before 7:00 am or after 19:00 pm to see Goose Spring at its most beautiful. Taking a boat also has the charm of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. From Goose Spring to Quyang Lake, you will pass through the big roundabout of the Hena Highway, where you can take aerial photos, but currently, it is not the season and everything is just a green expanse, not very stunning.

Visiting Jingxi Goose Spring

We set out from Jingxi County and drove to Goose Spring. Goose Spring is a famous attraction in Jingxi County, located in Goose Spring Village, Xinjing Town, 4.5 kilometers from the county town. Although this is a border area, the road conditions along the way are good. The scenery around Goose Spring is very beautiful, with the typical karst topography of Guangxi in the distance and golden rapeseed flowers nearby. It is said that the spring mouth of Goose Spring belongs to a karst cave, with the main stream of the underground river being 21 kilometers long, and the spring water discharges eastward to form the Goose Spring River. We took the villagers' bamboo rafts to get close to the Goose Spring River, admiring the beautiful aquatic plants in the river, the lively swimming fish, and the charming scenery on both banks. After touring the Goose Spring River, we continued to visit the spring's eye and also climbed up to a viewing platform on a nearby mountain. From the high point, we saw Goose Spring from a different perspective.
