The terrace offers a stunning view and a relaxed, open atmosphere that feels like you’re dining in a foreign country. The vibes are fantastic, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a meal. I ordered the fried shrimp and croquette lunch, and I loved how crispy and light the batter was on both the shrimp and the croquette. The textures were just right! For dessert, I had a cherry pie, which had a lovely combination of crispy dough and rich custard filling. It was the perfect sweet ending to a satisfying meal. Tsukiyo no Usagi is a guesthouse located about a 10-15 minute walk from Izumo Taisha Shrine. It's a cute guesthouse with lots of rabbits, perfect for family trips, solo trips, and girls' trips. Room: Samue (M and L sizes always available), bath set (tabi socks in a basket, bath towel, face towel), toothbrush, hair dryer, snacks, coffee set. Food: Breakfast and dinner buffet (maybe less variety than you'd think). Famous night naki soba available from 10pm (can be taken back to your room). Come a little early as it gets very crowded. How can you come to Japan and not take a hot spring bath? This time I stayed in 3 hot spring hotels in the San'in area. All of them offer one night and two meals, and each has its own characteristics, especially the food! Many years ago, I stayed at KAI Nikko and had a great time. This time, I planned a trip to Shimane Prefecture and decided to stay at KAI Izumo. I booked the early bird rate 90 days in advance, and the price was about RMB 2,200 for one night with two meals, which is quite reasonable for a hot spring hotel in Japan. 🚕 The hotel is not very convenient for non-self-driving travelers. There are only four buses a day from Izumo Taisha to Hinomisaki Lighthouse, and the intervals are long. The four of us chose to take a taxi, which was more flexible in terms of time. The road to the hotel winds around the mountain and faces the sea, and the scenery is beautiful. 🏨 The hotel is relatively new and does not have the dilapidated feel of an old hot spring hotel. The room is a combination of Japanese and Western styles, and the bathroom is also large. I want to complain that the view of the lighthouse from my room was completely blocked by a pine tree, and I could only see the tip of the tower. #DomesticTravelRecord Izumo Taisha Shrine. I purified my soul at this power spot. It took about 20 minutes by train from Izumo Station. I walked along the long approach to the main shrine. The way of praying was different from other shrines, with two bows and four claps. After praying, I ate Izumo soba noodles at a shop at the exit. I waited about 20 minutes to get in. The Izumo soba noodles were a little darker. The soba noodles in the wakiko soba were really delicious as I ate them. My soul was purified and I was able to pray in a fulfilling way. Transportation to the shrine is not very convenient, so it's important to check beforehand.
