Yangzhou is great, I'll come again next time
Yangzhou is great, I'll come again next time.
Only had one day, chose to drive to Yangzhou.
Came in a hurry, chose the Grand Canal Museum. There were many people during the holidays, didn't finish touring it. For those who like shopping, Hall 3 is not to be missed. It really is like a commercial street inside the museum.
Overall, it was okay, depends on personal preference. It's hot in summer, but it's still nice to stroll around!
In the evening, I visited Dongguan Street and Caiyi Street, bought osmanthus cake and Green Yang Spring tea. Had a simple meal at a place called 'Coarse Tea and Plain Food', had to queue up. Personally, I think it was okay. The lotus root powder balls were very special, it was my first time trying them and they were not bad. The prices were relatively cheap. Yangzhou University yogurt, especially the jasmine flavor, was quite unique. I brought a lot back!
Yangzhou is great, I'll come again next time.

Jiangsu • Dongguan Street, Yangzhou
Yangzhou is known as the 'First City of the Chinese Canal.' Dongguan Street is a representative historical old street in the city. The Dongguan Ancient Ferry at the eastern end of Dongguan Street was a bustling dock of the Grand Canal during the Tang Dynasty. Today, Dongguan Street still maintains the appearance of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The street is crowded with people, ancient-style beauties can be seen everywhere, and old-brand shops are numerous. This place almost gathers all the special delicacies of Yangzhou. In this 'World Food Capital,' you can also taste the former favorite dishes of Emperor Qianlong, such as Jade Dumplings and Three-Diced Buns...

Others visit Yangzhou in the misty rain of March, while I stroll down Dongguan Street in the scorching heat of June
🍃Unlike the misty rain of March, Yangzhou in June has a unique charm.
In the scorching heat of June, I began a unique journey with Dongguan Street.🌸
🔥The summer sun shines on the bluestone road of Dongguan Street, as if draping this ancient street in a golden coat. As I step on the stone slabs, feeling the temperature beneath my feet, it seems I can hear the echoes of history.🏞️
🍵In the teahouses along the street, old tea drinkers leisurely sip their tea and chat. I couldn't resist going in and ordering a cup of Yangzhou's special Green Yangchun tea, savoring its light fragrance and coolness.🍃
🌸In the alleys of Dongguan Street, there are many interesting little shops. I visited a handicraft store and was deeply attracted by the exquisite Yangzhou paper-cuttings and embroideries. Each piece seems to tell an ancient story.🎨
🌿There's also the Biancheng Academy here, with its unique design. The wooden structure and rustic decor make one feel as if they've traveled back to an ancient academy. The owner's ingenuity is even more impressive, using remnants of ancient scrolls to design ancient book lampshades. Under the light, the delicate handwriting seems to tell old stories.💡
🍲Of course, how could I miss the food in Yangzhou? I tasted authentic Yangzhou fried rice and Yangzhou dried tofu, and the flavors were truly unforgettable.🍛
🌞Although the scorching heat of June is hard to bear, the charm of Dongguan Street makes me linger. There are no noisy crowds here, only tranquility and beauty. I love this kind of travel, simple and real.🌿

Dongguan Street in Yangzhou: A Journey of Ancient Charm and Modern Interweaving
I finally set foot on the legendary Dongguan Street in Yangzhou, a shining pearl in the river of history, and it truly lives up to its reputation! 🎉
As soon as I entered Dongguan Street, the bluestone pavement stretched out beneath my feet, and every step seemed to tread on the pulse of history, with the simplicity and weightiness coming at me. The green bricks and black tiles, the carved beams and painted rafters, each ancient building carries the stories of the years, telling of Yangzhou's past and glory. 🏛
Wandering through, it's as if I could travel through time and return to that prosperous city of Yangzhou. Well-preserved ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as Yipu and Huashi Garden, are like vivid history textbooks, enchanting and making one linger. 📜
However, the charm of Dongguan Street is far more than that. Modern commercial facilities are cleverly integrated with ancient buildings, offering both the charm of antiquity and the comfort and convenience of modernity. You can savor the depth of history while enjoying the conveniences of modern life. 🛍

Yangzhou | You still have to visit the thousand-year-old Dongguan Street~
Dongguan Street is famous and is the busiest ancient street in Yangzhou city.
Even though I know it's very commercialized, crowded, and every city has such a street where various snacks and tourist souvenirs are concentrated, you still have to walk around. After all, it also represents a part of Yangzhou, and it is an ancient ferry crossing.
As expected, the crowd was surging.
So I walked through the quiet alleys, and there really were many. One of the alleys is at the entrance of Qionghua View, called Guan Alley, full of small and unique coffee shops, love it!

Did you go to Yangzhou in the fireworks-filled March? You might have chosen the wrong time!
Why visit Yangzhou?
A single line 'In the fireworks-filled March, I went down to Yangzhou' explains it all, sparking everyone's longing for the beautiful scenery of the south of the Yangtze River.
But, is March the best time to visit Yangzhou?
Actually, it's not. The 'March' referred to by the ancients is the lunar March, which corresponds to April in the Gregorian calendar!
April is indeed the best time to visit Yangzhou. What many people don't know is that there is a flower that mainly blooms in Yangzhou, the Qiong flower, which blossoms in April.
In April, the sunshine in Yangzhou is just right, the breeze is gentle, making it the best season for sightseeing.
Whether it's the blooming Slender West Lake, the lush Ge Garden, or the bustling Dongguan Street, all will offer you the best experience.
If you haven't been to Yangzhou yet, then set off in April.

Yizhou Garden in Yangzhou: A small garden on Dongguan Street that finds tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle, without seeking publicity
Yizhou Garden. I am even more fond of this small garden next to the Ge Garden. It is adjacent to Ge Garden, sharing the bustling Dongguan Street, yet it seeks quietness within the noise, being small and exquisite, and appears reserved and elegantly simple. Of course, there are not many visitors here, so it is naturally quiet. Compared to Ge Garden, it is smaller in size and elongated in shape. Therefore, the rockery built along the courtyard wall and the half pavilion at the end are also adapted to the local conditions, but I prefer such lightly embellished rockeries and buildings among the mountains. The overly tall and complex stacked rocks forming mountains, which require constant climbing and tunneling, are not to my liking. I also love the back garden. The back garden is very small, but the lake rocks, flowers, plants, trees, and the surrounding buildings, including the Reading Tower, are all very exquisite and cleverly arranged. Yizhou Garden and Ge Garden, two gardens next to each other, have very different appearances. Besides the difference in the financial resources of the two owners, it also makes one think of some differences in the lifestyle and attitude towards life of their owners.

Because it is located in the southern part of China Dongguan can get quite hot in the Summer, but never super cold in the winter. The historical areas are becoming more touristy. But the lights are still nice to look at, if you go out at night it is cooler. #wintergetaway

Dongguan Street is the most representative historical old street in Yangzhou City. It has a long history of 1122 meters and a profound cultural heritage. It was once a derivative of the prosperity and development of the ancient canal, and it is also the cultural center and economic and trade center of ancient Yangzhou. . Today, this long old street is the most popular Yangzhou punch card attraction.
Street listings are prosperous and well-established, and the business is booming. All the shops are brick-and-mortar buildings, giving people a sense of history and culture.
Dongguan Street is also a food street. This street is almost full of all cultural representatives of Yangzhou. Food is the most important part. The food at Dongguan Street is as rich as its history, yet rich and inclusive.
Commercialization and fireworks have made Dongguan Street, where people live here, vendors are selling here, new and old, and interesting, but condensed the essence of life.
Night tour Dongguan Street, most of the shops on the street are hung with red lanterns. The twilight is especially bright. The mottled ancient wall has a deep memory of time, and the criss-crossing bluestone street is always on the walk. A very comfortable feeling.

Night travel in Yangzhou, singing and dancing in the old bamboo best place
world three minutes moonlight night, two points rogue is Yangzhou, Yangzhou City's night accounted for two-thirds of the world's night, and to say Yangzhou City is suitable for enjoying the night view The night view of Wenchang Pavilion is the leader in Yangzhou's night. Wenchang Pavilion was built in the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty. It is the Kuixing Building of Yangzhou Government, hence the name Wenchang Pavilion. On the night of the festival, the lanterns on the pavilion are a good place for downtown Yangzhou. Wenchang Pavilion is an octagonal three-level brick and wood structure, similar to the Hall of Prayer for the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. On the ground floor of the pavilion, there are arches on all sides, which are connected to the street. The second and third floors of the pavilion, surrounded by virtual windows, and four floors, are close to the street and have a panoramic view.
Dongguan Street is the most representative historical old street in Yangzhou City. It is east to the ancient canal and west to National Day Road, with a total length of 1,122 meters. The listings on the street are prosperous, the businesses are well-established, the business is booming, and there are many famous brands both at home and abroad. Dongguan Street is especially like the old street in Taizhou. It is also a shop in the old buildings, but the shops here are more modern and more suitable for young people. Compared to the content of this street, the night here is much better. An ancient street that runs from east to west is the Dongguan Gate, and the famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is outside the city gate. Therefore, come to Dongguan Street and play with two attractions.
History is generous for Dongguan Street. The Ming and Qing Dynasties and the "fishbone" street system have not disappeared into the torrent of historical heritage, but have been preserved relatively well, so that they maintain and follow the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The traditional style of the period. The city gate is open to tourists, especially at night, overlooking this East Gate Street, the lights are dim, the light and shadow flow.

Yangzhous Dongguan Street is an ancient street in the city center. It is 1,122 meters from east to west. The starting point is located in the tower near the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
If one or two people come to Dongguan Street, you can pack a human tricycle, and slowly walk around the ancient streets and nearby alleys, while listening to the master of the bicycle to introduce the history of each house in each store. Millennium East Gate Street is full of history.
The ancient Dongguan Street also shines with modern atmosphere, and the literary style that young people like is best for taking pictures. There are a lot of snack bars on
dongguan street, and it has been attracted by this small store without going far. This shop owner has a yellow cake, there are a lot of stuffing, the price is slightly different, but it is not expensive, such a cake is 2 yuan. Beancurd is also a popular snack here. Xiao Yan, looks good, and is petite and exquisite. There are only 4 bowls of dumplings, but each dumpling is as big as the small one, full of stuffing, and four dumplings with four fillings. Sesame stuffing is one of the most common fillings, and the store is still very solid.
I also picked a dumpling at random and took a bite and found it to be a leek stuffing, full of mouth fragrance.
Dongguan Street is an ancient street in the east-west direction. There are also many alleys that lead to Dongguan Street. It is a local residence, very quiet and there is no one.

Dongguan Ferry, gongs and drums, a group of elderly dragon dance team in the passionate interpretation.
is closely linked to Dongguan Street is the East Gate Gate Ancient Street District. The two streets have been combined to plan, rectify and develop together, which can highlight the extraordinary taste of Yangzhou's cultural city.
Dongguan Street, in addition to the old-fashioned shops, also concentrated on many historical relics, including a garden, Yiyi, and Wang's Xiaoyuan. There are Guangling Academy, Anding College and Yidong School, which were founded earlier in Yangzhou. Yangzhou people often say: "Alleys, lanes, alleys, alleys, alleys", it can be seen that Yangzhou is a lane city. There are more than 500 alleys in the old city of Yangzhou, which is more than a dozen square kilometers. Dongguan Street is one of the most representative historical old streets. Because the street goes from west to east to Dongguan City Gate, it is named Dongguan Street. Dongguan Chengmen, formerly known as Lijinmen, was the place where Gulijindu was located. Later, Lijinmen was renamed Dongguanmen, and Lijindu was renamed Dongguan Gudu.
Walking on Dongguan Street, the bluestone road stretches and twists. There are long alleys on both sides from time to time. It is as if you can hear the sound of the seller and have a different flavor. Here is also a gathering place for many snacks, tofu brain, lotus root powder, crab yellow soup bag, long fish noodles....... definitely can eat full stomach.
