I watched a romantic sunrise over the Golden Mountain for free without a ticket.
I went to the Dongba Valley! It was really worth it.
I got up at 6 a.m. to put on makeup and set off at 7 a.m.
I arrived before 8 a.m., just in time for the sunrise over the Golden Mountain.
Waiting for the color change on the mountain is a very healing process.

Dongba Valley is known as a free attraction in the ancient Naxi Kingdom. For some special reasons, the scenic area has not been overrun by large tour groups, so you can enjoy yourself here.
The scenic area is rich in elements, including a highland ranch, Tea Horse Flower Valley, Forest Bathing Song, Dongba Market, and the popular glass bridge. Plus, there are not many people here.
There are many snack bars in the Dongba Market area, and the prices are even cheaper than outside. You can enjoy the snacks here without worry, and there are many options. It's a good idea to take a break and taste the local food after a tour.
There are popular glass bridges everywhere now, but in the beautiful scenery of Lijiang, you can stand on the very clean bridge and enjoy the surrounding scenery. It's a great place to take photos. The only downside is that it's quite sunny during the day.

Driving route: The Dongba Secret Land Resort is located in the southeast corner of the Yulong Snow Mountain Scenic Area, next to the Dongba Valley Scenic Area, and is a must-pass place to enter Yulong Snow Mountain. You can take a taxi here or join a one-day tour.
📝 Tips:
1. No ticket is required to enter. The glass bridge is CNY 120/person, and the electric car is CNY 60/person.
2. The scenic area is quite large, and the whole journey is nearly 6 km. If you have the energy, you can walk instead of taking the electric car. Discounted tickets are available online.
3. Open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm every day.
4. You don't have to worry about altitude sickness here, and it's very friendly to tourists from other places.

🕙Recommended time: It is recommended to go in the morning or afternoon to better enjoy the scenery. It takes about 2–3 hours to visit.

Entering Dongba Valley is like stepping into a mysterious world. There are many unique natural landscapes, deep canyons, and rocky forests. Walking along the boardwalk, you can see the clear stream flowing under your feet. There are also various folk displays here, allowing you to gain an in-depth understanding of Dongba culture. For example, the ancient Dongba characters are carved on stones or wood, which is super interesting.

② Navigate to "Dongba Valley Scenic Area Car Park" and turn left after entering the mountain. There are many small lakes along the way, and the further you go, the fewer people there are. I went to the Lover's Lake inside~ There is a dead tree trunk next to it, you can sit and take pictures or lie down and take pictures!
③ You can stay near Baisha Ancient Town the night before, it's convenient to take a taxi, and it takes about 10 minutes to get to Dongba Valley

🚕🚙Getting There - Book a taxi/didi/ drive from any of the ancient towns in Lijiang to “DongBa Valley”. Once you pass the sign for “Dongba Valley”, you will quickly find many campervan coffee shops scattered around the fields and lakesides as well as places offering horse riding expeditions.
🐎☕️Attractions - many roadside coffee shops with camping style seating offering views of Yulong Mountain. Horse riding offered around the fields and lakes in the area. Further into the Valley there is an outdoor activity centre offering bungee jumping and ziplines.

Thirty yuan, straight from the ancient city to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain sunrise
Departing from Lijiang ancient city, take a ride in the morning for 30 yuan round trip, heading straight to 📍Dongba Valley, where there are many small lakes, snow-capped mountains, lakes, cattle, sheep, coffee, and the sunrise; you just snap away with your phone and you're done. Telephoto lenses produce great shots.
Make sure to check the sunrise time, it's a forty-minute drive from Lijiang ancient city, and arriving 20 minutes early is sufficient. Dress warmly in the morning, or you can rent clothes.
It's very cold in the morning, and there's no food, but there is coffee, which makes a great prop for photos. The sunrise is over in five or six minutes, after which you can either climb the mountain or go to Baisha.
Baisha is an ancient town under the snow mountain. It's not commercialized and is very worth visiting!

The wind blows and the insects chirp. I've been to Lijiang several times, but it's my first time to visit the Dongba Valley Scenic Area. Although many landscapes are man-made, it can also be considered as a scenic area where Lijiang's ethnic culture and magical nature coexist harmoniously.
Transparent glass bridge, sky mirror, cliff plank road and other most scenic spots are all here. For tourists with plenty of time, you can visit.

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain | Best reflection viewing point for the Golden Sunshine
| Best reflection viewing point for the Golden Sunshine. There are two points to watch the Golden Sunshine in Lijiang:
1️⃣Ganhaizi (entrance fee required, 100r)
2️⃣Dongba Valley (with reflection, less crowded and free)
I have been to both points, personally, I think Dongba Valley is the best viewing point, it is easier to capture the whole view than Ganhaizi, and there is water, you can take reflections!!! And less crowded, you can take pictures at will!!!
It's worth getting up early and coming out, it's so beautiful at that moment~

I personally think it's not necessary to go to Dongba Valley, because the tickets are quite expensive, the driver also told us that if we buy tickets from him, it only costs 120, I said no need, then he was unhappy and said then you go buy the 180 tickets.
