Floral Splendor at Doi Inthanon Pagoda
#flowerblossom
Doi Inthanon, known as the "Roof of Thailand," offers more than just breathtaking views from its peak. The pagodas near the summit are surrounded by meticulously maintained gardens that come alive with vibrant flower blossoms, creating a spectacle of color and beauty that captivates all who visit.
Gardens of Ethereal Beauty
The gardens around the Doi Inthanon Pagodas, known for their tranquility and natural elegance, reach their peak beauty when the flowers are in full bloom. The area is home to a variety of flowers, including rhododendrons, which are native to the region, and a multitude of other species that paint the landscape in vivid hues of pink, red, purple, and yellow. The cooler climate of the high altitude supports a diverse range of flora not typically found in other parts of Thailand.
A Peaceful Retreat
Visiting these gardens offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As you wander through the paths lined with blooming flowers, the only sounds are the gentle rustle of leaves and the soft murmur of wind. The setting is not only perfect for relaxation and reflection but also provides numerous opportunities for photography enthusiasts to capture the stunning scenery.
Cultural and Spiritual Significance
The pagodas themselves, dedicated to the King and Queen of Thailand, add a profound cultural and spiritual layer to the visit. The elegant architecture of the pagodas, combined with the surrounding floral beauty, offers a harmonious blend of nature and devotion. Visitors often take a moment to enjoy the quiet spiritual atmosphere, which is enhanced by the natural beauty that surrounds these sacred structures.
Visitor Tips
- Best Time to Visit: The best time to experience the flower blossoms is during the cooler months from November to February when the flowers are in full bloom and the weather is most pleasant.
- Prepare for the Climate: Even though Thailand is generally warm, the high altitude of Doi Inthanon can make it quite chilly, especially in the morning and evening. Dress in layers to adjust comfortably as you explore.
- Respect the Site: Remember to treat the gardens and the pagodas with respect. These are not only tourist attractions but also places of spiritual significance.

North Thailand’s Best Waterfall
Feel the full force of nature as you stand at the base of Wachirathan Waterfall.
Located inside Doi Inthanon National Park, this 80m high waterfall is the first stop when you enter the Park. Enjoy it as part of a tour or using your own scooter/car.
No opportunities for swimming here, but have some food/drink from the many kiosks nearby and appreciate what mere water and gravity can do for a while.
Entrance fee for the Park: 300THB for foreigners.

Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park, the Roof of Thailand

Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand with an elevation of 2,565m, is called the roof of Thailand! I went trekking there! It takes about 2 and a half hours by car from Chiang Mai city. I recommend booking a trekking tour rather than going there on your own! Doi Inthanon National Park, which preserves the tropical rainforest of the Indochina Peninsula! The long forests and flowing streams feel refreshing! You can also visit the Hmong village, an ethnic minority in this area!

I started 2022 in Chiang Mai, Thailand and got to go to the highest spot in Thailand. It's called Doi Inthanon. It was really extremely cold up there. The temperatures ranged from 7°- 11° C. However it had the best & most amazing scenery. It was just breath taking. Tge highoght was seeing the sun set from the highest spot in Thailand. Sunsets are just beautiful especially with the different colors.I also got to see other parts of Chiang Mai.

hiking in "winter" weather
#gohiking
Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand.
We visited the Doi Inthanon National Park, and I truly loved the hike. The weather was amazingly cooling, and the view was lovely. Simply loved the greenery, the clouds, and the blue sky.
Totally enjoyed the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail a lot.
Shall return soon to experience the overnight camping in this national park.

Gorgeous National Park
Doi Inthanon National Park is a must see in Chiang Mai and Thailand as a whole. What I particularly liked where the King and Queen pagodas and the beautiful flowers all around.
The brown one is The Kings and the purple one is The Queens. Both decorated beautifully but differently. It's great to walk through them and try to spot the intricate differences between the two of them.
The chrysanthemums add colour and character and you can sit and enjoy the scenery.
Remember to check out Doi Suthep Temple in the nearby vicinity too

The Scenic Doi Inthanon National Park
Chang Mai is a small little city in Thailand where it is famous for many beautiful ancient temples located high above the mountains, also due to its mountainous regions you will be able to have many scenic walks and views among these mountainous landscapes with alot of natural wonders surrounding you.
One of the attraction for hiking or outdoor enthusiasts is the Doi Inthanon National Park where this is the highest mountain located in Thailand and of course the weather up there is cooling but not cold, this is also a very popular tourists attraction where you will see crazy crowds doing this hike during the peak seasons.
So basically, you can do all these within a day where there are also the Holy Relic Pagodas in Do Inthanon, alsp the Wa Chirathan Waterfall where you are able to get upclose and hear the roar of the waterfall, and of course not forgetting the summit of the mountain.

The best national park so far
this is one of the most famous national parks in Thailand I believe, which is located in the northern part of Thailand. it’s completely different from the rest of the country. countless waterfalls and rice terrace where you can enjoy the view and find inner peace! since we are exchange students in Thailand, we were able to get child ticket 150 bhat for our entrance. it takes few hours to just go to different waterfalls. and there is one grand pagoda that located uphill, which is very close to the highest point in Thailand. this national park is truly phenomenal, and I recommend everyone who visits Thailand to come here#tripblazers #bucketlistreboot #mytripvlog

Cascading waterfall at Doi Inthanon
#bucketlistreboot
Wachirathan Waterfall is one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfall in Chiang Mai. Located within Doi Inthanon National Park, this lesser known waterfall caught our eye and we were mind blown by it. The weather was patchy when we visited and it rained pretty heavily so we could not spend much time here. However there are plenty of restaurants around where you can sip coffee and watch the raging waterfall. You can actually walk very close to the waterfall and take pictures. The trail could be slippery so make sure you are in comfortable friction shoes. This was our last stop during Doi Inthanon trip, what an ending to a beautiful day spent in nature!!!

Doi Inthanon national park in Chang Mai
Last Christmas we went to Doi Inthanon national
park in Chang Mai Thailand. The highest peak in thailand with nice scenery view of mountains with beautiful garden of flowers and trees, this temple built for the late King number 9 and Queen.
The second place that we went is the white temple in Chiang Rai Thailand, this temple is iconic in thailand and unique because of this whole white colored temple from the roof to the floor, they also have a blue temple just a couple of kilometers away.
The third that we visited was a resort in Hua Hin Cha-am thailand. We stayed in this nice big hotel far from the city with a good ambiance for relaxation with a good beach front view, we spend our new year in the hotel and that was a good experience.

Dong Son Tent Site, Chiang Mai Province
Dong Son Tent Site or Dong Son Tent Site is a tent site surrounded by tall pine trees. It is located in Doi Inthanon National Park, Chiang Mai Province. This is another popular place for tourists visiting Chiang Mai to camp, sleep in a tent, and enjoy the breeze on the mountain.
In fact, there are private tent sites on Doi Inthanon. But for park lovers like us, we chose to set up a tent at Dong Son. In addition to the good atmosphere, the park also has complete facilities, including electricity, shower rooms, and separate male and female toilets. It is not too far from Dong Son, so you can walk to find something to eat at shops, restaurants, and barbecue restaurants.
If anyone comes to visit Chiang Mai and wants to sleep in a tent and enjoy the natural atmosphere, Dong Son is another place that we would like to recommend for everyone to try. You can bring your own tent or rent it from the park.
Coordinates: Tambon Ban Luang, Amphoe Chom Thong, Chiang Mai Province
Overnight fee 30 baht per person

The Two Chedis
Also called Twin Pagodas or Naphamethinidon and Naphaphonphumisiri Pagodas, Two Chedis are located not too far from the summit of Doi Inthanon National Park. The first of the chedis, Naphamethinidon, meaning 'by the strength of the land and air' was built in 1987 to honour 60th birthday anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The second chedi, Naphaphonphumisiri, meaning 'being the strength of the air and the grace of the land' was built in 1992 to honour 60th birthday anniversary of Queen Sirikit. The garden in the Queen Pagoda is so beautiful full of colourful flowers. There is a viewpoint with good view over the west side of the park, a popular place to see the sunset.Would recommend to see the sunset. Such a sight to behold.

First stop
Wachirathan Waterfall lies inside Doi Inthanon National Park.Wachirathan Waterfall is amongst the most popular waterfalls in Doi Inthanon National Park due to its immense scale and its accessibility for visitors. It is our first stop on our tour in the Park. With a central location, Wachirathan Waterfall has a large parking lot surrounded by restaurants and vendors. Visitors can walk up a short paved trail to see the towering falls. Standing about 40 meters in height, Wachirathan rushes into the river below, throwing out a thick sheet of mist into the jungle surrounding it.There is a main viewing area which most visitors stick to, though there is also a short climb up a set of stairs, as well as a path that leads down to the river's edge, both of which offer varying - and more photogenic - views of the falls with fewer visitors. The waterfall is clearly signed from the main road and easy to find. There are restaurants, restrooms and trash at the parking area too.

So how it feels to be in the highest peak of Thailand? Awesome! Just being there is great and I am lucky to experienced it. Before going to the highest peak, it is 11-12 °C at the 5th unit of the park. This is in the month of February. I enjoyed the view going to the peak. In deep forest, lots of flora. The highest peak at Doi Inthanon Mountain which is the highest mountain in Thailand is 2,565.3341 meters above mean sea level. Also known as "The Roof of Thailand", Doi Inthanon National Park covers an area of 482 km² in Chiang Mai province north of Thailand. The park has high humidity and cold weather all year round. A glimpse on the village
Part of our tour in Doi Inthanon National Park, is a visit to Mae Klang Luang Village. This village has rice fields nestled on mountain slopes, creating a very nice view during the rainy seasons. Our tour guide gives us a glimpse of there simple life too. There homemade products are bar coffee soap, coffee and knitted clothing. There are restaurants and cafes in the village and we experienced coffee tasting as well.It was freshly brewed coffee and the aromatic smell is great. It is here we have our lunch too. As per our guide, during weekends villagers take most of their time to rest. It was a wonderful day.

King and Queen Pagoda
The King and Queen Pagoda in Doi Inthanon National Park are such a beauty. So lucky during my visit because of good weather. The garden in Queen Pagoda is so beautiful and the flowers are so colourful. The place is so majestic. From here you have a good view of the King Pagoda too. That feeling of being on top of the world is worth remembering. Add this in your list too when you in Chiang Mai someday.

Wachiratan Waterfall
There are many waterfalls at Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiangmai, but Wachirathan waterfall is probably the most impressive one. Towering at around 130 feet, the sight welcomes many daily travelers with a nice view. Most of the waterfalls have a good flow of water all year round but the best season for water flow is during the rainy season from May to November. The waterfalls are all in rocky areas, not ideal for swimming.
