Travel expenses for a couple's trip to Bangkok for 7 nights and 8 days!
We are Nicolena, a Japanese-Italian couple who love Asia and cost-effective travel✈︎
I'm going to reveal the cost of our 7-night, 8-day trip to Bangkok that we took as a couple😆
Calculated using the exchange rate at the time of posting in 2025
①Round-trip airfare: 77,752 yen (per person)
・Going: Fukuoka → Suvarnabhumi Airport by Vietjet, including 20kg of checked baggage
・Return: Don Mueang Airport → Fukuoka by AirAsia, including 25kg of checked baggage
②Accommodation: 61,148 yen (7 nights, per person)
About 8,735 yen per person per night
We stayed in two 4-star hotels🏨
③Food: 20,030 yen (8 days, per person)
We enjoyed a wide range of options, from local eateries to beautiful famous restaurants and food stalls🍴
Food costs seem to have increased a lot since before, but they're still cheaper than Japan😉
Other desserts and cafes cost about 5,000 yen (8 days, per person)
④ Sightseeing expenses 20,058 yen (8 days, per person)
・Taxi one-day charter: 17,600 yen
・Boat fare at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: 4,450 yen (rowboat for 2 people)
・Mahanakhon Tower Observatory with drink: 4,603 yen per person
・Wat Arun: 880 yen per person
・Wat Phra Kaew: 2,220 yen per person
・Wat Pho: 1,330 yen per person
⑤ Transportation expenses 4,959 yen (8 days, per person)
Total of BTS, subway, and taxi
I included the taxi one-day charter fee in the sightseeing expenses💡
I basically traveled by BTS or subway, and used taxis when my destination was far from the station or late at night🚖
⑥ Souvenir expenses 5,052 yen
The cost of souvenirs varies from person to person, so I don't know if this will be helpful, but this is how much we spent👍
I didn't include any shopping for myself
There were a lot of nice souvenirs at the slightly upscale supermarket "Gourmet Market" in Terminal 21 and Siam Paragon😁
⑦SIM card, unlimited data 933 yen (8 days, per person)
My husband and I each bought an eSIM and a physical SIM📶
・eSIM: 1,054 yen (10 days, 50GB)
・Physical SIM: 813 yen (10 days, 50GB)
《Total 189,932 yen per person》
→About 13,391 yen per day (excluding airfare and souvenirs)
Prices have gone up, but food stalls, local restaurants, and transportation costs are still cheap✨
This time I stayed at a 4-star hotel, but it will be cheaper if you stay at a 3-star hotel💰
You can find 3-star hotels for 5,000 yen for 2 people per night
The cafe was surprisingly expensive💦Coffee is about 450 yen and up, so it's not much different from Japan😅
I hope this is helpful for people who are planning to go!
