If you get a visa on arrival, you'll need an invitation letter and USD 51, and you'll have to wait in line. I exchanged money with a Chinese colleague at a rate of 17.5. I also exchanged money at a Chinese supermarket and a currency exchange on the street at a rate of 17.2. This was cheaper than using a credit card, so if you plan to buy expensive items like pearls, I recommend exchanging money in advance. 💰 🏨 Accommodation Dhaka has some international hotel chains, like IHG and Marriott. There's an InterContinental near the old town, close to Dhaka University and the Bangladesh National Museum, which is very convenient. As expected from a 5-star hotel, the staff was friendly and the facilities were good. In particular, I liked the outdoor pool and the walking trail inside the hotel. The road beyond the hotel was noisy with horns and car noises, but the inside of the hotel had a green garden and lake, so it felt quiet. Dhaka Regency is a 5 star hotel located just 5 minutes away from Dhaka Airport. I stayed there for 3 nights costing me £110 a night. I checked into the hotel after a 11 hour flight but as soon as I walked into the hotel I was mesmerized by the excellent customer service and look of the hotel. Check in was really simple and when I got to the room I couldn't believe the size of the room, it was like a mini apartment. The room had a nice comfortable King bed, a sofa/chair, a work table and the toilet, bath and shower where of very high quality. Regarding the customer service I called the reception asking for a iron and within 2 minutes someone came knocking on my room door, when I opened it the hotel worker asked what I needed ironing and he took my clothing and returned 10 minutes later with my clothes ironed. I also asked the reception wheres the best place for my to buy a luggage, the worker came with me to a local shop negotiated the price for me and at the end of the sale the hotel worker told me he would leave the luggage in my room and I can carry on exploring the city and there is no need for me to carry the new luggage back to my room. Out of all the hotels I have stayed in around the world the customer service at this hotel has been the best and I have not found any hotel yet that could match it The hotel has a roof top swimming pool and you will also find a BBQ next to it where you can buy food and enjoy the wonderful views of Dhaka from the roof. Also regarding food the hotel restaurant had wonderful food it consisted of Bangladeshi food aswell as western food, I opted for the Bangladeshi food and I can say it was excellent and you could tell it was really fresh. I am staying at The Waydaka. The service is good and the cleanliness is good. It is about 100,000 won cheaper than other hotels with a good name. Of course, it is not cheap. If you have a chance, it would be good to try it once. First of all, the place is quiet and nice.
