[2025 Devin Attraction] Travel Guide for Devin Castle (Updated Apr)

Did I actually find a Games of Throne filming location in Slovakia? I wish,BUT ACTUALLY this castle is not one of the filming location eventho it looks like it could be part of Westeros so much with the medieval looking castle ruins, isn’t it? 📍Devin Castle, Bratislava This beautiful castle located at the border of Slovakia and Austria and you can see Danube river and Morava river intersection that separate the two countries. It is built on top of a crag and its remain a ruin till this days as it is one of the oldest castle in Slovakia. You have to visit the panoramic view from the Maiden Castle overlooking the beautiful rivers, truly breathtaking. I was able to see it far from distance during my visit and it was my highlight! The entry ticket to this castle is 6€ because we come during a public holiday in Europe but normal price ticket is 8€. I think it used to be priced lower back in the early days. We took a Bolt taxi from Bratislava Castle to here Hrad and we paid 7.80€ divided by the three of us. Bolt here is super affordable, I do suggest taking Bolt in Slovakia compared to taking bus if you prefer convenience! So do you think this is a hidden gem in Slovakia? Devin Castle, is a castle in Devín, which is a borough of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is one of the oldest castles in Slovakia. The site has been settled since the Neolithic Age and fortified since the Bronze and Iron Age and later by Celts and Romans. The cliff is an ideal place for a fort due to its position at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers. I was visited the castle during winter, and there is less than 5 visitors within the castle, it feel a bit eerie with the cold wind and the empty old castle. however, it’s also a rare and great opportunity where I can take as much as photos with the castle for memory. do check out my photos! #awesomepic#historicculture#culturalattractions#nationalpark

On one of the sunnier days of the early spring weather, we ventured out to Devins Castle and spent the whole morning exploring and walking around. It was super easy to find, looks super far with lots of walking but was surprisingly do-able. I would recommend taking some light snacks with you to enjoy while you’re there. I visited Devin Castle in Bratislava, Slovakia. It's about a 30-minute bus ride from the city center. Make sure to buy your ticket from the vending machine. If you are caught without a ticket, you will be fined 50 euros. Devin Castle is located on a hill and can be climbed in about 30 minutes. From the top, you can see the river that forms the border with Austria. The entrance fee is 8 euros during the high season in summer and 6 euros during the low season in winter. Brilliant #travel experience at #devincastle in #slovakia, just a short bus journey outside of #bratislava, great as a trip for a few hours for #solotravel or for #couplestrip. Overall well worth visiting whether you’re in Bratislava, or even in #vienna #austria. #coupletravel My partner and I had an amazing couple’s trip to Bratislava, Slovakia! The city is the perfect mix of charm and history, and it’s super walkable, which made exploring so easy. We started at Bratislava Castle (entrance fee around €10), where the views of the city and the Danube River were incredible. Strolling through the old town, we discovered beautiful architecture, cute cafés, and plenty of spots for a romantic dinner. Nearby, we also visited the Blue Church and took a boat trip to Devin Castle. #celebratewithtrip One of the benefits of visiting Bratislava for a few days is that I had more time to see some attractions that were a little further from the city centre, one of them being Devin Castle! Devin Castle is located about 10kms outside of Bratislava, so it’s very easy to visit on a half-day trip. I took a taxi over there and it take about 45mins When I reach the town of Devin,I can see the castle sitting on a rocky outcrop looking down over the city, so it was just a matter of walking in that direction. Once I reached the castle I was treated to beautiful views of the surrounding area. From the top of the mountain you can even see Austria The view itself was truly breathtaking and will highly recommend a visit to Devin Castle #tripblazers #fallingforfall
