Black Diamond Library @ Copenhagen
📍If you are interested in architectural design, Copenhagen is the right place. Before leaving, I went to the Black Diamond, which is one of the most important modern buildings on the seafront and part of the Royal Library. It has a bookstore, restaurant, cafe and concert hall.
🌟It was designed by architect Smith Hammerlanson and completed in 1999. Its smooth and irregular mirrored exterior reflects the ocean and sky and is called the "Black Diamond". The building's interior combines ancient and modern elements in a unique and bright way. The Black Diamond also includes the National Museum of Photography. The Royal Library's collections have included photographs since 1839. Today, the National Museum of Photography houses around 50,000 works, divided into Danish Photography, Foreign Photography and several special collections.
❤The library is divided into two parts, and the black diamond is directly connected to the old library.
I sigh that the locals are so lucky. Students can study in the library, and those who work can find a corner to sit down and work. The cafe is right there and you can spend the whole day there.
✅You need to pay to see the photography exhibition, but it is worth seeing. It brings us back to the era of prehistoric film cameras from taking photos with our mobile phones. I sigh that cameras are used to record history and write stories. They are so useful.
