All Moments About Manggarai Regency
If you want to experience a different Indonesia, come to Flores!
Bali, Indonesia is a popular honeymoon destination, and it is a place that welcomes everyone, even backpackers. Labuhan Bajo, which can be reached by a domestic flight from Bali for about an hour, is famous for its Komodo dragon tours. However, many people seem to know the island as Labuhan Bajo. The island is Flores, not Labuhan Bajo. It means flower in Portuguese, and perhaps that is why there are so many flowers on this island. If time permits, I recommend traveling to Flores Island.
Day 1 Labuhan Bajo - Kuncha Falls - Canchar Spider Web Rice Fields - Bajawa
Day 2 Bajawa - Bena Village - Blue Stone Beach - Moni
Day 3 Moni - Climutu Volcano - Hobbit Cave - Soa Hot Springs - Labuhan Bajo
We traveled for 3 nights and 4 days, but our time was very tight. If you go to Mount Klimutu, we recommend a 4-night, 5-day itinerary. If you find it burdensome to return by land, you can also return by plane from Ende.
You can contact a taxi driver in Labuhanbajo to inquire about Flores travel, and if you meet a good driver, you can get various stories and travel information about Flores.
If you want to travel to the quiet and leisurely “unspoiled place” that we often call the unspoiled Indonesia, Flores is a must-visit place. After traveling to Flores, you will probably become interested in deeper parts of Indonesia, such as Sumbawa, Timor, and Raja Ampat.

Parikoro Ruteng: here you good food 🌿⛰️
#celebrateit #ParikoroRuteng #ruteng
I went to Parikoro Ruteng Restaurant, a quiet spot in the highlands of Ruteng when driving by The town. Here the m air is crisp, the views are endless, and the food is full of local flavors. Whether you’re just passing through or looking for a place to take a break, this restaurant makes it easy to slow down and soak in the beauty of Flores.
The menu is packed with Indonesian favorites, made with fresh ingredients straight from the region. I ordered fried rice, morning glory, and some deep-fried chicken—simple but packed with flavor. And of course, no meal here is complete without a side of their fiery sambal. 🔥🍛
If you ever find yourself in Ruteng, don’t just drive by. Stop, eat, and take a moment to enjoy the view—because meals taste even better when they come with scenery like this. 🚗✨There’s something about this place that makes you want to linger a little longer. ☕🌾

Driving Past the Spider Web Rice Fields: A View Like No Other 🚗🌾
#celebrateit #Lingkofields
If you think rice fields are just endless green landscapes, wait until you drive past the incredible spider web rice fields in Flores! Known as Lingko fields, these uniquely shaped rice paddies in Manggarai Regency are one of Indonesia’s most fascinating sights. 🌏✨
⚠️ At the ground it’s hard to see shapes you need to hike up to see them
Unlike traditional rectangular rice fields, these are designed in a circular, web-like pattern—a result of an ancient land distribution system called Lingko, where land was divided from a central point, much like slices of a pie. The best way to see them? Drive along the roads surrounding the fields and stop at a few viewpoints for jaw-dropping panoramas! 🚘📸
The drive itself is a treat, winding through lush hills, traditional villages, and endless greenery. You might even spot local farmers tending to their crops—a great reminder of the deep connection between culture and nature here. 🌱👩🌾
For the ultimate view, take a break at one of the roadside stops near Cancar village. Climb a small hill, and you’ll get a perfect aerial perspective of the mesmerizing spider web pattern. It’s a sight that will make you pull over more times than you planned!
Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a culture lover, or just someone who enjoys a scenic drive, this route is a must. Just don’t forget to slow down and enjoy the view—it’s not every day you see rice fields designed by Mother Nature’s geometry skills! 🕸️🌾

Cunca Liang Langgo Waterfall: A Scenic Escape in Flores
#celebrateit #manggarai
Located in Manggarai, Flores, Cunca Liang Langgo Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction that remains refreshingly quiet compared to more popular spots. What makes it even more appealing is its accessibility—just a short 10-minute walk from the parking area, making it an easy yet rewarding stop for nature lovers.
The waterfall cascades gracefully into a clear, cool pool, surrounded by lush greenery and towering rock formations. The peaceful atmosphere, enhanced by the sound of flowing water and chirping birds, makes it an ideal place for relaxation and photography. Whether you’re looking to take a refreshing dip or simply soak in the scenery, Cunca Liang Langgo offers a tranquil retreat.
Despite its accessibility, this waterfall has retained its natural charm, with minimal crowds and an untouched landscape. Visitors should bring sturdy footwear for the short trek and be prepared with water and snacks, as facilities are limited. For those exploring Flores, Cunca Liang Langgo is a destination that perfectly blends beauty, convenience, and serenity.
