THEREFORE, ON OUR SECOND DAY IN PENANG, WE DECIDED TO EAT NASI KANDAR AGAIN THIS TIME FOR LUNCH. WE ARE JUST SIMPLY HOOKED ONTO THE DELICIOUS NASI KANDAR. WELL, THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE- NO BETTER PLACE TO EAT NASI KANDAR THAN PENANG. LOCATED AT JALAN GURDWARA IN GEORGETOWN, PENANG, MALAYSIA, THIS FAMOUS NASI KANDAR EATERY IS A PLACE TO GO TO WHEN ONE VISIT PENANG. THIS TIME, WE DECIDED TO DRIVE AND LUCKY US, WE MANAGED TO FIND A PARKING SPOT NOT FAR FROM THE RESTAURANT. WE REACHED DEEN MAJU AROUND 1PM, TIME FOR LUNCH AND THE QUEUE WAS ALREADY FORMED. WE JOINED THE QUEUE AND WAITED PATIENTLY FOR OUR TURN. THE QUEUE WAS MOVING PRETTY FAST AS WE ONLY WAITED FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES TO ORDER OUR FOOD. THERE ARE MANY DISHES TO CHOOSE AND WE WERE SPOILT FOR CHOICE BUT WE WERE VERY SURE THAT WE MUST HAVE THE FRIED CHICKEN. I COULD SEE THAT THERE ARE BEEF, CHICKEN, SQUID, FISH AND MANY MORE COOKED IN DIFFERENT TYPE OF CURRY SAUCES. WE ORDERED THE FRIED CHICKEN, CURRY CHICKEN, POTATOES AND FISH WITH WHITE RICE. THEN THE SERVICE STAFF POURED VARIOUS TYPES OF CURRY GRAVIES AND SAUCES ONTO OUR PLATES. SINCE I LIKE MY RICE TO BE SOAKED WITH GRAVIES, I REQUESTED FOR 'BUAH BANJIR' (FLOOD WITH GRAVIES). THEN, WE WERE GIVEN A NOTE WITH THE PRICED STATED TO PAY AT THE CASHIER COUNTER. WE WALKED TO A VACANT TABLE AND ENJOY OUR TASTY LUNCH. THE FRIED CHICKEN WAS WELL-SEASONED WITH SPICES AND THE CURRY FLAVOURS GOES VERY WELL WITH THE STEAMED RICE. WELL, WHENEVER OUR HOLIDAYS TOOK US TO PENANG, THE HUNT FOR DELICIOUS NASI KANDAR WILL BEGIN. FOR THIS WINTER GETAWAY, WE WERE IN PENANG (AGAIN). WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT PENANG, WE LOVE PENANG! WE WERE ADVISED BY A TAXI DRIVER TO TRY THE NASI KANDAR AT DEEN'S MAJU WHICH WE THANKFULLY DID. WE ARRIVED FOR DINNER AND THERE WAS ALREADY A LONG QUEUE. WHEN IT WAS OUR TURN, WE ORDERED THE STEAMING WHITE RICE AND A MIX OF CURRIES (KUAH KARI CAMPUR) WITH THE MUST HAVE FRIED CHICKEN AND STIR FRY CABBAGE. THE TRIP FROM OUR HOTEL DID NOT DISAPPOINT US AT ALL. THE CURRIES WERE AMAZING, SPICY, HOT, RICH AND FLAVOURFUL AND THE WELL SEASONED CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN WAS TENDER ON THE INSIDE WITH A CRUNCH WITH EVERY BITE.
