Shenzhen Dongxichong – No beauty filters, no editing, just pure photography!
❤️Recommended reason:
The coastline of Shenzhen Dongxichong is located on the Dapeng Peninsula and is the most beautiful and classic coastal hiking route in Shenzhen; with Pingshan by the sea, mountains crisscrossing, a long coastline, and a complete development of coastal and marine erosion landforms such as beaches, islands, reefs, sea erosion rocks, caves, bridges, columns, etc., it is a must-visit coastal crossing route for Shenzhen outdoor activities. It has also been rated as one of the top ten most beautiful hiking routes in China by 'National Geographic Magazine'.
🗓Itinerary:
In the morning, you can drive or join a group from the downtown area of Shenzhen, and it takes about two hours to arrive. This time I took the crossing route, starting from Dongyong Bridge and ending at Xichong No. 4 Beach, which took about 6 hours in total (depending on individual physical strength and pace, we took many breaks and spent a lot of time resting and taking photos)
🧳Preparation before departure:
The weather is very hot for mountain climbing in June, especially after lunch, the temperature by the sea is really high, and the ultraviolet rays are strong, so remember to bring a sun hat, sunscreen or spray, and some heatstroke prevention items in advance.
There will be many steep mountains that require the use of ropes and chains to descend, so it's best to prepare gloves in advance🧤, this is very important, otherwise your hands will be worn out after descending one mountain.
After climbing a mountain, there is a rest point where they sell water, popsicles, and food, which will be a bit more expensive than usual, but still acceptable, for example, popsicles are 10 yuan for three, and MIZONE is 8 yuan per bottle. However, you can prepare a few bottles of water to bring with you before departure, hydration is very important‼️ Each rest point also has a tourist boat, if you want to give up halfway, you can choose to take the boat directly to the end, sharing a boat costs 50 yuan per person, or 300 yuan for a private boat.
📝Note tips:
When you reach the end, there is an observatory nearby, which you need to book in advance (I didn't book so I didn't go up).
There is also a shuttle bus station at the end, which costs 10 yuan per person and takes you directly to the exit, if you don't want to walk down, you can take this bus.
Climbing mountains in summer really tests your perseverance, but Dongxichong is truly beautiful. All the above pictures are taken with the original camera without any filters or beauty effects, and every casual shot is a masterpiece, highly recommended!
