#timetotravel There is a small surfing town with beautiful beaches and lots of small boutique hotels and coffee shop in Dapeng. It really feels like being in some exciting island somewhere outside of China. But in reality it’s a few hours dive east of Shenzhen. We have been here several times over the years and also stayed at one of the cute hotels just at the beach. You can play with your SUP here or simply rent one. During the summer months the temperature by the beach is actually quite warm. The little town is full of streets and alleys and each time we come we find something new. This hidden cove is located in a small villa area in the Western side of the dapeng peninsula. We stayed in a villa for a night. It was huge and had everything you could possibly need for a group of people to have a grand time. There was a karaoke room, a games room, a conference room with a huge TV and a balcony. We had an amazing BBQ with steak, hot dogs, seafood, vegetables and more. In the morning we went to the beach cove in the pictures and went swimming. It was a perfect place to relax away from any crowds. We basically had the beach to ourselves. I would definitely come here again given the chance, this beach is far better than the one near the old dapeng fortress town. #beachlife #staycation

## Judiaosha, Shenzhen's Hidden Beach Shenzhen was still dozing at 7 am, but my best friend and I were already on our way to Judiaosha. The navigation showed a one-hour drive, but the winding mountain roads of Dapeng Peninsula made it feel much longer. The green scenery outside the car window was like a moving screen, and when we finally saw the mint-colored sea, all the bumps along the way were worth it. As we walked on the fine silver sand toward the sea, the waves were breaking the sunlight into pieces and scattering it on the water. There was no noise like at Dameisha and Xiaomeisha, only a few tents scattered like mushrooms. We rented a beach chair and lay down, watching the sailboats draw elegant arcs in the distance. Suddenly, it felt like the fast pace of Shenzhen had been slowed down to 0.5x speed. The UV rays at noon were getting stronger, so we hid in a seaside restaurant and ordered two iced coconuts. The waiter recommended the salt and pepper mantis shrimp, which was still fresh and sweet from the sea. With a 270° sea view, even taking photos with our phones seemed unnecessary. In the afternoon, we went snorkeling with the fishermen. When the colorful tropical fish slipped through my fingers, I suddenly realized that the underwater world of Shenzhen was more exciting than the floor-to-ceiling windows of the office buildings. Before returning, we made a special detour to the west side of the beach, where the white lighthouse looked like melting cream in the twilight. Walking on the wet sand after the tide receded, the shells made a soft sound under my feet. Arriving at Dapeng Fortress, the weight of history was palpable, with cobblestone streets and ancient walls recording the vicissitudes and glory of this land. In the afternoon, I climbed a hillside to overlook the panorama. The peninsula shimmered under the sunlight, with green and blue intertwining in a gentle rhythm. This time I went to Dapeng Peninsula and stayed at the 🏨Lanxi Hot Spring Pool Hotel. Inside the Danfeng Kelly Resort, it feels very convenient to go anywhere. It is recommended to park here at the Dapeng Geological Museum, Qiniang Mountain, and Qiniang Mountain Ranch. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to Xichong and Judiaosha (drive slowly on the mountain road). 🪨Dapeng Geological Museum There are many minerals and crystals on display. It is free and you can go for a walk. There is also a large park inside, it is nice to experience the 20-minute park rule and absorb energy! ⛰️Jiuniang Mountain There is a hiking trail, but we didn’t go up. 🐑Jiuniang Mountain Ranch Recommended! As mentioned in my last post, Dapeng Peninsula is located around 50 mins by car from the Luohu border OR slightly over an hour by car from the Futian border. After visiting the Dapeng Ancient City, I visited the Yunhai Angel Bay (雲海天使灣) for the capsule trains. If you are planning to visit, perhaps it is better to use “雲海山莊” as the location pin because there is another 雲海天使灣 which is near the Dapeng Ancient City… Don’t make the same mistake as I did haha The capsule trains look identical and feel just like the one in Busan. Right next to the capsule train, there is also a natural garden where you can see and feed plum deers.
