Guangzhou|A Taoist temple that took 10 years to build is finally open! It's so beautiful!
It's open 🎉 It's open 🎉
The Wong Tai Sin branch that took 10 years to build is finally open to the public, and admission is free!
Honestly, even if you don't worship, it's worth bringing your kids here to admire the Tang-style architecture! Not many people know about it yet, so hurry up and go! Before you go, check out this guide 📜
1️⃣ No reservation is required, just go there directly.
Navigate to 🧭 Chisong Palace. There are no buses or subways that go directly there. The closest is bus Panyu 126, which stops at Daling Village. From there, it's a 10-minute walk. Buses 🚌 are infrequent, with only one every 2 hours, so we recommend taking a taxi or driving.
🅿️ Parking: There is a temporary parking lot built by villagers at the entrance, most of which charge CNY 10 per vehicle, with no time limit on the day. If you want to save money, you can also park at Daling Village.
2️⃣ Opening hours: 8:00–17:00 on weekdays, 7:00–17:00 on the 1st and 15th of each month. No entry after 16:45, so don't waste a trip.
3️⃣ Tour route: Yangsheng Hall ➡️ Linggong Hall (you can get incense at the service center behind it, CNY 10 per pack) ➡️ Bell Tower ➡️ Dragon King Hall ➡️ God of Wealth Hall ➡️ Cihang Hall ➡️ Pujie Hall ➡️ Yuancheng Hall ➡️ Star Hall ➡️ Sanqing Hall
The temple covers an area of nearly 20,000 square meters and has a wide range of offerings, so you can pray for wealth, love, or peace of mind 😉 It takes about 2 hours to visit the whole temple, so plan your time in advance.
4️⃣📷 Must-see spots:
💕 Star Hall
The ceiling animation is really cool, and the kids were amazed. The combination of the Tai Chi pattern and the starry sky is very high-tech. The AI multimedia interaction allows you to enter your birthday to find your star sign, and you can also customize a star sign coin for your child.
💕 Temple eaves
The eaves of the three-story building at the back of Yuancheng Hall are very distinctive, and the overlapping palaces on both sides make a great background. Standing there for a photo gives a strong ancient vibe, and the photos are great.
💕 Fun bonsai
These are easy to miss, but well worth seeing with your kids. There are many types, and each one is unique. Each one can be used to tell a story.
5️⃣ Etiquette and taboos
Dress modestly. Hanfu such as horse face skirts are acceptable, but don't wear anything too flashy. Simple and low-key is best. No commercial photography is allowed.
Keep quiet inside the hall 🤫, don't ring the temple bells or drums, and don't put your hands together to worship. Instead, use the left hand over right hand gesture 🉑️
6️⃣ Food and drink
No food is available in the temple, but there is a free water dispenser 🆓. There are many small vendors selling snacks at the entrance to Chisong Palace, and the prices are reasonable. There are no restaurants nearby, so go to the Shilou Archway for more options.
7️⃣ Nearby attractions
If you have time, you can also visit Daling Village near the temple, which is about a 10-minute walk away. Further away, you can drive to Seagull Island or Lotus Hill Tourist Area, which are only 20 minutes away by car.
